Boreas POV
Sitting in Laurel's office, I stared out the window, my mind running in circles as I tried to figure out what form I should take for this infiltration. My usual werewolf form was out of the question, as Laurel said that the demon lord might already remember that look on my face. The demon territory was crawling with eyes and ears, and they'd be looking for anything out of the ordinary. Humans were one of them, Mari had a plan of just wearing a mask, and using magic to dye her hair.
Her face isn't as public, so she'll get away with it for a long time, as for me...
"Alright, how's my transformation magic?"
"You look the exact same." Laurel commented, "Wait...your teeth are sharper...otherwise...your demon form is the exact same."
"This is some sick joke, isn't it?"
"What's the sick joke?"
"My demon form looks the exact same as my human one...*pats back* I don't even got a tail!"
"Well, it might be a sick joke, I'm not kissing you if you have teeth that sharp." Mari commented as she then flipped through her magazine
"Well, my vampire form ain't that different either...and no offense, I'd rather not be a cyclop or anything ugly."
"Why does your look even matter for this?" Laurel asked.
"In case I have to seduce someone, I got poison or other drugs that I can lace my mouth or tongue with."
"So you're going to kiss another woman?"
"...Yes."
"If it's for the world's sake, I'll allow you to. It'll be really funny if it's a really ugly demon."
"Allow? You're not my girlfriend."
"Mari isn't either, and yet-"
"That's different, anyway, help me find a form that a demon would find attractive, Kai doesn't know how to help since he doesn't know what would make an attractive demon to others. He suggested becoming an incubus, but that's too much attention, I think I accidentally caused a few maids to have massive nosebleeds. I also want my demon form to be a bit more humanoid and move around easily..."
"Can't you just alter each part of your body separately?"
"I can, but it's just really hard and really makes me tired, but that's what I'm doing."
"So stick to being that form of yours, just change your height...and face...make it like really feminine, but not too feminine..." she then proceeded to advise me on how to alter my demon form further and I also had Mari's input on all of it. It took me several minutes, but eventually, I landed on something.
"So why do you have to be attractive again?" Laurel asked.
"I plan on befriending women all the way to the top."
"By relying on seduction and taking advantage of women?"
"..."
"As much as I despise the plan because of how deplorable that is, considering that I have been in similar or worse scenarios in the past...know that you better make it right with those victims of yours, try not to seduce them unless you really have to, and erase their memories once you're done."
"Sure, I promise."
"The other 2 are fine with this?"
"They made me promise to cleanse myself after."
"How?"
"I'll tell you later."
*Present time*
Long story short, we managed to infiltrate into the northern continent. There are still a few secret route here and there, even mages who could teleport us to the inside, but magic can be traced easily and there were a lot of things that cause us to come here by walking across the continent through those routes, and we eventually arrived at a port.
It wasn't hard to blend in, especially with Mari being a nymph. The northern continent was crawling with demons and spirits loyal to the Demon Lord, so her presence didn't raise any suspicions. The port was busy...ships coming and going, filled with supplies and people.
The plan was simple. Mari would slip into the water, join the other nymphs and water spirits, and gather information. They were working with the Demon Lord, so she could move around freely without being questioned. Meanwhile, I'd be sticking to the surface, blending in by making connections with the wealthy demons here. They valued status and appearance, and with my demon form, I could pass off as one of them.
I needed information, resources, and a way in. The rich were always good for that, and demons were no exception. With the right contacts, we could get closer to the heart of the Demon Lord's operations...and there are lot of important ones at the port since it's a secured supply route. Jett, disguised as a cat, was sticking close to Kai. Their job was to scout out other supply routes and find any weak spots. Kai had to infiltrate the group of demons immigrating onto the continent to do that though. That was the riskiest part. His old friends and family could be among them, and if anyone recognized him, the whole mission could fall apart.
We knew the stakes. If we got caught, there'd be no escaping. I had to rely on my demon looks to get in with the right crowd, while Kai had to face the possibility of meeting someone from his past. The tension was there, but we couldn't afford to think about it too much. We had a job to do.
I glanced over at Mari, who was already slipping toward the water, her form shimmering as she got closer to the other nymphs. I gave a quick nod to Jett, who was perched on Kai's shoulder, blending in perfectly as they both then started to make their way. Then, I turned my attention to the demons at the port. Time to start making connections.
Good news came unexpectedly. The port had been terrorized by a mass murderer for weeks, and it seemed like no one had been able to catch the killer. Word spread quickly that if anyone could solve the case, they'd earn a meeting with one of the demon general's right-hand men.
This was perfect. I wouldn't have to go through the tedious seduction plan. I could bypass all of that unnecessary garbage. Instead, I could finally put to use what I learned growing up...the forensics, the knowledge of morticians, all the books my parents left behind.
I could solve this my way there...The idea of helping the demons made my stomach turn, but this was a sure way to get the connections we needed without compromising more than I had to. It was a way to get in, and I could do it by playing to my strengths. Shit, I'm going to have to give Chris a call.
