I have a story to tell you! Listen to the joke I made!

A teacher came to class and called on the smartest kid. “Bob, you made a small mistake. Out of ten questions, you got one wrong. That means you get 90 percent. Congratulations!”

The whole class cheered. Then the teacher called the average student next. “Joe, out of ten questions, you got four wrong. That means you get 80 percent. Congratulations!”

Again, the class cheered. Then the teacher called the dumbest student. “Carl, out of ten questions, you only got three right. That means you get 80 percent. Congratulations!”

Bob, being the smartest, complained, “Teacher! Why do Joe and Carl get the same score?”

The teacher answered, “Well, if I give you less than 80, that means you fail. The government declared every student must succeed, so you all pass.”

“But that’s unfair!” Bob said.

“And so are minimum wage jobs, inflation, and rich guys getting richer with real estate and stocks. Ahahaha! Honestly, it’s good for me too! If you have more than three mistakes, it’s an automatic 80! Easy, right? Everyone’s happy, right?”

The class cheered again, approving the teacher’s method and the government policy. Since most of the class benefited, everyone was happy. Democracy at its finest!
