Luna nodded, her tears streaming down her face. She watched Mira put the ring on her finger and felt that she was dreaming.
Luna giggled, wiping her eyes with the back of her hand. "I feel like I'm dreaming," she said, still slightly breathless from the emotion.
Mira chuckled, her eyes twinkling with amusement and affection. "Well, pinch yourself," she teased, playfully poking Luna's cheek.
Luna gasped, feigning surprise. "Oh, you're right! This is real!" she exclaimed, then, laughing at how childish they were, she leaned in for a kiss that was both playful and deeply passionate.
The kiss ended with a soft sigh, and a comfortable silence settled between them. Luna, still smiling, traced the outline of the ring on her finger. Mira reached out and gently squeezed her hand.
"So," Mira said softly, "should we get back to work?"
Luna laughed, the sound bright and clear. "Right. Work."
Luna pulled out her mirror and touched up her makeup while Mira simply put on face powder and lipstick.
"By the way, why did you come suddenly?" Mira asked.
"I just wanted to see my girlfriend before I went back to my company...no, it's my fiancée now," Luna answered proudly.
Mira shook her head helplessly. "Then just let me send you there. Also, our collaboration is almost done, so maybe having an outing for both teams might be good."
Luna's smile faded. ' I had just been proposed to, but now we are talking about work again. Aren't we supposed to be talking about announcing our engagement? Is Mira a workaholic? '
"Luna?" Mira called, as she didn't hear Luna's response.
Luna pretended to think before answering. "Well, it's not a bad idea. They did do their best and also quarreled a lot, so maybe having an outing would make them relax and closer."
"Yeah," Mira agreed, "but would it be okay if it's just the two teams that participated in our project?"
This time, Luna, having set aside thoughts of marriage, really thought about Mira's idea. She thought of her employees who would only take time off when she did. Even if they weren't part of the main team, they all did their part well and deserved a reward.
"Then let's just take all our employees and rent a resort. But you're planning a joint outing between our two companies, would your other partners be jealous?"
Mira was confused when she heard the word "partner." "You're my only partner, and if some people get jealous, then it's not my fault."
Luna was speechless, but a smile slowly reappeared on her face. "I mean, people who have collaborations with your company."
Mira secretly wanted to hit herself. She was getting excited about planning how to announce their relationship to everyone, so she hadn't realized her own response.
"Oh. Don't worry, I will also invite them."
"You would?" Luna asked in a casual tone, but deep inside she felt a little dissatisfied.
"Yeah, but I won't force them."
"I see."
Luna wanted to bring up the engagement, but seeing the smile on Mira's face as she planned the outing, she decided not to mention it.
Mira sent Luna back to her company, and while she was driving, she looked at how Luna played with her ring.
"Did you like the ring?" Mira asked.
Luna straightened her posture, with some expectation in her eyes. "Yeah, I like it," she answered, looking at the ring, then she became confused. "But, when did you get this ring?"
"Hmm...two years ago."
"What? Two years ago? Do you have an ex-girlfriend who you wanted to propose to, but you two broke up before you made a move?" Luna asked quickly, thinking if it was really true. She looked at the ring and suddenly wanted to throw it.
Mira widened her eyes at Luna's rich imagination. She quickly parked the car and held Luna's hand, who was about to take off the ring.
"Baby, calm down. I don't have an ex-girlfriend, I never had one before you."
Luna looked into Mira's eyes. "But two years ago, we weren't even dating or even seeing each other."
"Look at the ring carefully; doesn't it look familiar to you?" Mira said, trying to calm Luna down.
"Familiar?" Luna looked carefully at the ring.
Mira smiled and took out the necklace she had always been wearing and showed it to Luna.
Luna looked surprised when she saw the necklace, as it was the necklace she had gifted Mira when they were in college. Then she looked at the ring, and it really was the same.
"H-how?"
"Silly, I'm the president of a jewelry company now. When I went to the U.S., I worked hard and learned how to make accessories. By some fate, when I established the company, I wasn't confident yet, so I kept learning from others, and two years ago, this ring was the first thing I wanted to make. Thinking that maybe someday I would be able to give it to you."
"Then, what about the size? How come you know it?"
"I asked Mom."
Luna nodded; they looked at Mira's neck again with the necklace on it. "So, you still keep all my gifts to you?"
"Of course, I keep them well."
"Did you like all my gifts to you back then?"
"Yes, not only the gifts but the thoughts behind them, too."
Luna felt that her questions were unnecessary. However, those times when she gave those gifts, Mira was so reserved that she didn't even react to them. She felt good that Mira accepted them, but she also wanted to know if Mira really liked them. Now, knowing that Mira really appreciated all her effort made her heart swell up.
Luna didn't bother to talk anymore and just kissed Mira excitedly. Mira looked at the car windows to see if they were closed before she responded to Luna's initiative.
"We're...in the car," Mira said between breaths when she felt Luna's hand inside her shirt
"No one will see us," Luna answered quickly.
"We're in the parking lot of a convenience store."
Luna stopped after hearing Mira, then gently pushed Mira away with a cold face. "Then go and drive now."
Mira was shocked to see Luna getting angry. "Baby—"
"I said drive," Luna said, holding herself back from throwing herself at Mira. It really wasn't good to do it outside, especially when her girlfriend was thin-skinned.
"Yes," Mira thought that Luna was really angry, so she could only keep quiet along the way until they stopped at the parking lot of Luna's company.
Luna quickly got out of the car, while Mira got out too. She stood at the car door, watching Luna walk quickly away from her, which made her sad. She wanted to follow, but she didn't know if Luna even wanted to see her face.
Luna, who was walking in front, noticed that Mira wasn't following her. She looked back just to see Mira standing at the car and looking about to cry. She was shocked and felt pain in her heart, she quickly went back to Mira.
"Why are you crying?" Luna asked in a soft tone and quickly wiped Mira's tears.
"I-It's nothing," Mira bit her lower lip while bowing her head.
Luna quickly recalled what happened, then she realized that it seemed to be her fault.
"Okay, stop crying, let's go," Luna gently took Mira's hand and pulled her to her office.
