The cavern was inside of a mountain peak, that was a part of grand mountain range resembling a giant dragon sprawling across the earth. 

Outside of the cavern was a wide open cliff edge. The view of the area down below was picturesque. 

A lush forest full of towering trees surrounded the mountain range on all sides, and a vast blue sky hovered above, full of countless clouds.

The three of them sat and spoke at great length for hours.

They discussed what had become of their lives since Emily and Akane had been summoned to Cornith. 

David listened peacefully to the stories of their previous adventures through this world and all the people they had encountered. 

This was something he had long since grown accustomed to. 

He had always been a person with an easygoing approach to life as. No matter the pressure his family placed on him, he remained calm and took everything as it came, while doing his best to lookout for those around him. 

His sense of ease had given all of his friends a since of comfort, and helped them better adjust to the pressure placed upon them by their own families. 

As the stars descended from the night sky they decided to meet once more in Normandy in a few years.

David desired to travel the world for a brief period in order to witness it with with his own eyes after hearing their stories. He also wanted to take the time and prepare himself for the future and test his new abilities. 

He was going to journey alone because the sisters had preparations to.

"Then goodbye again, see you in Normandy." He stood with his back against the sky as he gazed at the two of them. 

"Goodbye First Brother."

Emily spoke with a soft voice before she suddenly rushed forward to embrace him and placed her lips against his. He showed only slight surprise before hugging her body tight against his own. Their tounges explored each others mouths for several seconds before they parted.

After they parted her cheeks were flushed and her eyes amorous. She gave him a final look of longing before pushing him in her sister's direction and turning around to enter the cavern once more.

After her figure faded away David focused a probing gaze on the sole beauty remaining, whose beauty surpassed that of the starry sky above.

"Aki, you obviously know how Eric feels about you correct?" He asked directly.

She nodded her head softly, her checks carrying an obvious blush due to David and her sister's earlier display of passion.

"And yet even though you know I can never love only you, or remain committed to only you as he could. You would choose me over him?" He stepped closer to her and hooked her chin with his finger, their breaths intermingling.

"Would you not die for me and do all you could to protect me First Brother?"

The answer to her question was obvious so he didn't respond, simply continuing to stare into her eyes.

She took that as a sign to continue as her hands fidgeted: "And besides, while Eric may love me and possess the ability to make me eternally happy. I can currently look upon him as nothing than more than an elder brother. On the other hand, I have felt this love for you since that day long ago. Our summoning to this world and the distance it placed between us only highlighted these emotions to me. I would be willing to spend my whole life with you even if our relationship could never be romantic in nature. Some may not understand this, and some may scorn me for putting Eric through this, but in my eyes it would be worth it to stay by your side."

"And if I were to accept you as more? What of the pain Eric would feel every day? How could I do that to him in good conscious? Despite our differences in blood the two of us acknowledge one another as brothers...Sigh...such is the whimsical nature of fate." He finally spoke as his mind drifted to that lonesome figure, who he would risk his very soul for.

His eyes looked past her face, gazing at the horizon beyond.

She noticed the pain in his gaze and spoke softly: "First Brother, in my time on Cornith I have come to understand a few things, feelings of love cannot be forced in either direction,  growth or dissipation. I can't force myself to reciprocate his feelings, nor can you he force his own feelings to go away, so let us leave it up to fate."

"Very well. Let us leave it to Fate." He nodded his head before bending downwards and giving her a quick peck on the lips.

Her body quivered due to the unexpected kiss and she quickly blushed as steam seemed to escape from her ears. 

"Why are you so shy now? Where did all your boldness from mere seconds ago vanish off to?" His arms wrapped around her waist, her chest being smashed against his.

She blushed further do to his aggressive actions and teasing questions. She struggled to push him away before shyly running away, vanishing back into the cavern where her sister now waited.

"Hahaha."

David gave a small chuckle as she scampered away.

He turned to face the starry sky, and two pairs of golden wings resembling those of a western-dragon unfurled from his back. He focused his mind and instinctively understood how to work them.

This mountain range was known as The Dividing Mountain Range and split the Eastern Continent into north and south. He was currently facing the southern end of the continent.

This side was full of around sixty percent of Cornith's Ancient Grade Dungeons, which had been created during the rise of some of Cornith's first civilizations. It also contained fearsome Demonic Beast Tribes, and Ancient Dragons. 

Mankind, which encompassed most of Cornith's population, had established many Fortress Cities throughout this swath of land and experts frequently went on raids in the area, in search of both fame and chances to reach new heights of strength.

"First off I should determine a destination to fly towards." He closed his eyes with the previous notion of randomly picking a direction, but as soon as he did the wind altered its flow and his nose caught a particularly attractive smell. 

He sniffed it once, then twice, and finally a third time, with the smell becoming more distinct and attractive with each sniff.

He slowly opened his eyes and smiled.

"This is the definition of sniffing out an opportunity!" He put force into his wings, giving them a mighty flap and took off like a rocket.

As he did the wind swept through his hair, which was now silvery white hair and significantly less curly than before, possessing a wild look. 

"I bet I look like a character straight out of shonen jump. Loving a genre and wanting to be a character are to completely different things. Only lunatics want this hairstyle every day of their natural life." He thought aggrievedly to himself.

He had previously grown to appreciate the shonen genre due to Emily, who had always gone on and on about One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, ect. He personally didn't possess any single favorite that stood above all others.

He soon caught the hang of flying through the air with his new wings and felt the flow of Mana and Origin Qi in the air. He subconsciously absorbed the two forms of energy into his body and felt his mind become slightly more clear.

He watched as mountains and dense forestry continued to zip past below him. They were full of both life and death as every lifeform below fought for its own survival. 

Wolves chased deer through the wood work, deers trampled down the grass below them, and sometimes giant, predatory birds would swoop down to capture said wolves. 

Smaller birds would swoop down to capture small insects and swallow them in an instant. Corpses decomposed as vultures feasted. 

All manner of  creatures existed down below, separated from him by the vast night sky as he flew above even the clouds.
