I wrote a lot in German about 25 years ago. After moving over half the world, founding a family, and finally in a stable employment, I decided to take up the pen again. Looking at all my stories, my writing is around protagonists who have to overcome non-weapon wielding challenges. Or like one reviewer put it, "the setting is really bright and hopeful.” Not always, but hopeful is a strong motive.
I'm going to wait for a backlog before reading the new series.
That is a probably good idea. The first ten chapter are written but still need more editing.
Something you do better than other writers, including native speakers.
Some authors use far too many "that was" "had been" "that had". In each case, a simple rearranging of sentence structure to move description from after the subject to before the subject fixes. Other cases usage of a different verb is the solution. I wonder if they are trying for high score word count.
You do not have this problem. At all. Most of your needed edits are word choice and homonyms.
Thank you. In German there is a common similar problem, the elevation verbs to nouns which led to a similar style. Which should be avoided for a lively description in German as well. Nice to know that I suceeded in this regard.
