No Outlands this week, unfortunately. I basically spent three days straight doing nothing but working on AI, so...I just didn't have time.

I'm going to be thinking about bringing my schedule down to one chapter a week this semester depending on how things go this week (I have parsing for my compiler due), more on that if it happens, we'll know by Friday.

Hey folks, I have some bad news. Basically, I got laid flat by a sickness this past week (not Covid, I got tested twice, since my brother tested positive a while before), and have not been able to do any writing. That effort went into Lexical Analysis, since, unfortunately, school comes first. I'm still a bit behind for school, but hopefully this shouldn't impact next week too much.

So, I wanted to make this post as a sort of preemptive check-in before school starts. It's my last semester of college, and unfortunately I had to take the two hardest classes in my degree at the same time or do another semester.

Hey everyone, between catching my brother's cold and moving out next week, I've decided to skip this week's chapter. I was probably going to end up skipping next week, but that will not happen now and this week's chapter will come next week. Sorry for the delay!

So...awkward story, I got sick like...right after I got back from my trip, and I was only able to finish The Outlands this week. Sorry, I know that's disappointing, but I really wasn't able to write for like...a few days and I kind of needed that time. SS did get a new chapter as well, but that was like 95% done already so I just finished it off now that I'm feeling a little better.

As I had feared, I'm definitely going to have to take a break next week. I'm just really not confident I can get anything quality done in the time I have before my family's heading out, so...yeah. After that we shouldn't see any breaks for a bit. Depending on what's being released that week, I might need another in mid to late august, as I'm moving, but we'll see when we get there. We might still see a single chapter of Swarming Sovereignty this next week, but...don't count on it.

TL;DR I'm taking a break this week and chapters will be moving down to two chapters every three weeks instead of once a week (basically, 3 chapters a month vs 4). I really wanted to avoid doing this if possible, but the current pace is just not good for my mental health.

My car finally breathed its last (it was well overdue for that, though, it's super old) and I've been having to deal with getting a new one, and I just...don't have it in me to get either The New Chimera or The Outlands done right now. Hey folks, just a heads-up: I've been called in to babysit my siblings on rather short notice, and between that, midterms, and the fact that I've spent most of my writing time getting the rewrite of The New Chimera finished (I've been averaging about 5 chapters a day now that I'm not rewriting them all from scratch, I've got ~20 left!), there won't be a chapter of The Outlands this week. It'd pushing it just a bit too much to get done, sorry.
