Yesterday, I was asked about my hobbies and why I write. My goal is very clear. I want to produce something artistic and structured that is wholly my own; something that I have put forth real effort towards. I am using my story to improve my writing, grammar, vocabulary, and I suppose some digital art. I'm growing as a person.
Everyone's life schedule and career goals force them to commit to various duties, but it's really different to set out to accomplish a difficult task solely by one's own desire and for one's own benefit. For once in life I am truly giving effort for myself, and it feels good.
I feel that academic institutions place no emphasis on motivating students or explaining why they should care about education and what they are committing time to learn. There is the general explanation that sometime, far in the future, academics will matter because of career and finances, but no emphasis on why I, as an individual, should care in the present, and what I can get from it right now. There are answers.
Hmm ... Well, when I look around, education is rarely appreciated and not even necessary to have success.^^ So, it is understandable that academics have a difficult standing when it is apparent that hard effort doesn't pay off anymore.
Intangible, unknown fear or tangible, known fear, which is more ghastly? But I want to delve into them both! It's gonna be another 20-30 chapters though before I really get to mess things up and bring out the suffering.
I hope this site stays this way and this site can fight off piracy and copyright theft of people's stories. Just the other day I read that somebody stole a person's story from this site and starting selling it for money. Holy Moly!
Russia. I remember TrollingTrolls mentioned and showed the site that had done exactly that. Apparently there is a little loophole in that nation since it was the privateer's effort in transitioning the novel from one language to the other.
I have realized even more that this is such a nice site with a great community. There is no BS when it comes to things like money, exclusivity, subscriptions, paid content, and copyright. People here just freely write and altruistically give others their stories hoping that they will enjoy it! I hope people read my story and enjoy every moment of free content from the goodness of my heart!
When looking for a site to post my story too, I came across some sites that had terrible communities. Some of the stuff in the comments of people's work wasn't even critiques of that work and went far beyond normal trolling. I hope people like that never find this site. Trolling I can handle Hell I can have fun with it and troll back. I'm not sure what I would do if that kind of mean spiritedness came here.
Whoosh. The wind blows and a lone tumbleweed rolls along the deserted profile messages tab. A @Yorda patiently waits knowing that sudden movements and noises may scare away its prey. Though impatience from starvation has begun to set in the @Yorda continues to lie in wait, always ready to nom nom.
