In my books defense, I am not that overly bright, and this time I decided to base the MC off myself and the choices I would make. I am the same age as the mc, and age has nothing to do with maturity. Not asking you to read on, just dropping my 2 cents
That is perfectly fine. In that case, perhaps get an editor or a sounding board? Someone to bounce ideas off of to see whether a character doing something/saying something is logically consistent and/or probable considering thier current circumstances.
I just got editors, and they are working on my completed novel first, Monster Girl Ranching. soon I will have some physical copies
