No, I mostly write in free moments at work or between tasks at home. So a set schedule isn't possible. Plus, this is my hobby.

Due to work and life issues, there will be delays between releases of both Ignite the Ashes and Waking Up Warpunk. Though I will keep trying to write as much as I can.
I'll be putting Some Warpunk on Hiatus, until I can give it more concentrated time and attention.
I do not know how long this current batch of problems will continue, but I'll try to find ways to work on chapters as soon as possible.
No worries hope everything work out for you. Take your time with the storys, you dont need to stress over them.
That longrunning star wars gamer fic did the same mind control thing and got similar amounts of hate. Ive seen it with other stuff too. I think its just one of those writing conventions people cant handel
I liked that story, and saw how that happened. I would argue there is a difference between a mind wipe especially a failed one and actual mind control. However, I also understand that some people don't care about that.
Anything that includes a perceived loss of agency is a problem. Slavery arcs also suffer from this. Even if they make sense.
For future reference though, while its not a fic killer for me (as long as its not too long) ive noticed mc mind control stuff seems to be as widley hated as ntr, though less known as such, especially in op mc stuff. I think ots partly a psychological thing about using opmc stuff to escape then being brought out of the good vibes by the loss of agency and control. Theres probably a lot more to it for sure, but the only other writing convention iveseen get fanfics and webnovls as much hate as ntr
Yup. I knew that, even if I didn't know quite how much. I had my reasons to do it anyway and take the hit. Despite how much people seem to hate it, it was a logical play. And I personally think the character and story both improved for it.
That said, I'm probably going to avoid that toolset in the future.
If I plot it out... I got less hate for the mental wipe, than the inclusion of 40K elements. A lot more overall drops, more negative comment and so on happened over 40K. It's honestly why I decided to stop using random factors.

Hey I was gonna read your stuff, but a lot of reviews are talking about your writing just turning into misery porn, I was enjoying the warpunk one before it got revised into what people seem to hate that came back and read further than what I got. Like what happened man?
Part 1 - Nothing happened, the person who wrote the 1 star review didn't actually understand what I was going for. When I talked to him about it, he insulted me, to the point I had to block him. I clearly warned everyone about everything he ended up complaining about on the front page and the notes of the first chapter. I promise it is not actually misery porn, and is picking up with the introduction of the Edgerunner characters. Especially David.
Part 2 - The person who wrote the 3 star review really wanted a different slant on the story in the first place. He wanted more of the culture of the Night Elves and Protoss. He also didn't really mesh with Ryan. Which was understandable. He was pleasant to talk to, and is partially the reason I started the Alternate version of the story.
Part 3 - The revisions changed almost nothing about the original content, they merely expand on or explain certain things better or cleaned up lingering mistakes. If you liked it the first time around, it's still the same story.
Oh thank god I was honestly worried for a sec, I loved the original and have been waiting to reread the new version for chapters to build up and the read it all during my replay of cyberpunk im planning soon
