I've been influenced. Influenced by Japanese sub-culture - the very subculture that terrifies giant aliens (jocks) and the popular kids so much that they'd destroy the entire world to be rid of it if they can. Long live Light Novels and 2-d girls.
So, because of that influence, now I'm starting to write novels with the concept of other worlds, fantasy worlds, and reincarnation/transference at their base.
Let me know if I've paid too little attention to one of your favorite series. If there's one you don't like, try something else. I try to write (somewhat) light-heartedly, but I'm sure there'll sometimes be aspects to the worlds I create that don't quite feel comfortable. Be it slaughter, gore, a bit of this or that, and sometimes the other, sometimes the story will run away from me a bit. I think this is ok. Stories, once begun, are the inception of a completely new universe, after all. Where else would you keep all of those Duke's Daughters, if not?
I read too many Japanese Light Novels and Webnovels. Honestly, I really do. I think they influence me a bit. I certainly have too many ideas popping up to be able to write them all down...
I guess I can try. Honestly, I'd love to see what a pro from Japan could do with these story ideas, though...
