I really like your book and wanted to know if you're going to upload more soon.
No rush, but I'm really looking forward to more
Hey! Just checkin' in.
I wanted to know how are you doing right now. It's been nearly a month that you didn't post anything and it makes me wonder if you are doing alright. From what I read below, I understand that you got some problems and without even knowing what they are, it looks a bit bleak.
So in the end, I just wanted to know if you are doing ok and to say, take your time and I hope you get better. And if you are doing ok, do you know when you will release a new chapter? NO RUSH!
I've had a question running in the back of my mind this week, if you don't want to answer it is fine of course: given the origin of Alyssa, I was wondering if you were I danger in all that war mess?
Hey, Cytotoxin. Not gonna say much else than hope that you’re doing fine or doing better. If it’s a private issue, take your time and sort it out. You are more important than a few more chapters released, so make sure you’re in a good place before you worry about us again. If you already are good, and just taking time to relax, I hope your break is rejuvenating and long. You sure as hell deserve it.
Edit: changed shortened to full username as per Cytotoxin’s request. Sorry again.
...Can you please not shorten my name like this again? If you absolutely have to, use Toxin or just call me Alice. Either works.
I`m fine, it`s just been a problem with computer that`s been handled already. I`ll post something soonish.
Hope you doing okay. I miss your stories and your long explanation of stuff happening in the background.
I don't know if someone else pinged this to you, but enjoy
Minor recommendation based off of dry humor. Into The Black on RoyalRoad maybe some inspiration for when you eventually reach space.
Generalized synopsis: Shadowrun inspired sci-fi VRMMO pseudo-universe with other cultural references.
Your work and it have a different overall feel from each other but I cannot help but keep drawing parallels.
I`m... not really fond of Shadowrun stuff. The setting mechanics in itself are pretty good, but the lore? Fuck it with a rusty rake the wrong way.
Fortunately it is very loose. Repeated references but the official setting of the VRMMO is earth history to 2010 is copied then universe goes through a simulation from there with some deliberately added variables. Other references include 40k and Portal. Plus the unavoidable Star Wars and Star Trek references of a sci-fi setting. They blame all references on the reference catalog they gave to the game's AI or on the players themselves.
Cytotoxin x Meakashi Crossover?
Meakashi is an author of a similar novel
Novel Title : Maou Shoujo Makoto Chaos
Synopsis : Makoto wakes up and finds herself in the body of a cosmic horror
...I mean, I never interacted with person behind the story, so I have no idea if any sort of cooperation is even feasible to begin with. Also, please don`t take that as a hint to start campaigning for it. I don`t exactly have much free time lately.
What I wanted to ask:-
Have you read "Maou Shoujo Makoto Chaos"
What my monke brain wrote:-
Cytotoxin x Meakashi Crossover?
Sorry mate don't want to make you uncomfortable
Love this Novel
Do you have a patreon?
Working on it. It is kinda pointless to start one if I can`t link it to bank account, and in order to deal with bank conveniently, I have to get my vaccination first. Well, I got that one handled, so now I just have to wait till doctors say it took and sort out the paperwork.
I kinda don`t have PayPal either.
Keep in mind that I`ve never been rich enough to justify figuring out online finances, so it`s all new to me. I am barely familiar with debit cards, let alone all the electronic methods of sending money around.
Started reading "My Next Life as a Villainess" after hearing good things about it. As a similar "otome isekai as villainess", Isekai'd Shoggoth is much better. I find a dense female lead in a romance slice of life to be a downer, especially an actively dense one.
I read the first two volumes (which is all introductory stuff) and I just kept wanting to read Isekai'd Shoggoth again. I basically dropped it today in the middle of volume 3 because of that and how slow it felt, so I'm gonna reread our adorable shoggoth's escapades.
This fic just keeps on being the most fun I find on my computer most days. The only down side is that we’re unlikely to see what the long term results of Alyssa Immortal Lady of the Islands will be on the world, unless you plan a big time jump some point in the future. I mean, in a couple hundred years what is she going to be doing?
It’s the disappointing part of stories with immortal protagonists that we always see them at the beginning and never when they’ve come into their own, or how societies grow around them. It says something good about this story that I find this fact more frustrating in this instance than most others.
Or will the gods just pluck her out of the world when they get as much advancement as they want?
Sorry about the multiple posts, I get running into a word limit.
In a couple centuries? Planning the colonies on not-Alpha Centauri, I guess. FTL is a longer term problem. But there`s still not-America to sort out before that. I gotta have some sequel hooks, ne?
Her Eternal Majesty Empress Alyssa Auslander.
Cy can freely shapeshift to be more adult-like on a whim.
Gods are fine with her just being there. They do offer "additional profit opportinities offworld" in a while. I gotta have some spinoff hooks, ne?
I very much love your writing style and would love to read more like it.
As an author, have you written and published other stories or is this your first?
Do you have any recommendations for reading that are similar to your writing and/or genre of Isekai'd Shoggoth (preferably full novels)?
Im looking forward to your future work!
I would prefer a lighthearted one, but I'll still look into Katalepsis. Maybe it's in my strike zone. 🤷♂️
@Jinx1988 Well now you've done it; Thanks to you I just burned through all the current chapters of Katalepsis. What a hidden treasure! If you've got more recommendations, I'll take them!
@LesserThanMost @Cytotoxin If you are looking for something in a similar style, I recommend books by Tony Corden (https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/17254796.Tony_Corden). Both his book series feature an OP female protagonist rapidly gaining power in their respective worlds. The "Weaves of Empire" is set in a fantasy magic academy, which would be my recommended starting point for people wanting a similar story to Cytotoxin's. But "The Stork Tower" is also a fun read.
@dmq Thanks! I am still looking, so I'll check this series out.
