Your protagonist doesn't really have any viable antagonists at the moment.

You're laying hints that maybe he can't die infinitely, and he could blow up his soul with overfeeding it, and someone who knows what he has going on might be able to forcibly hitch a ride. So these are all steps in the right direction.

He needs some serious obstacles though. I'm not sure what that would look like. Some way of giving him setbacks, failures that stick. That's my opinion anyways.

Joseph was supposed to the the first arc antagonist, but then I kinda went off on a tangent and away from him, but I'm looking to put a resolution on that whole thing soon, so I can move onto an actually interesting antagonist, as I feel like Joseph isn't that fun to read about.

Joseph's suffering from the lack of characterization that plagued some of my earlier characters, as writing an antagonist, or a person with villainous qualities, proved to be very difficult for a beginner writer. I've learned much since I started though, so I hope that the next antagonist will be much better received by readers.

About the hints, I won't say much, as I don't want to spoil anything. Let's just say I'm playing with some ideas at the moment.

This also ties in into the serious obstacles part, which is very difficult to execute, as physical death doesn't mean much to Luke. And so, I'm going towards emotional trauma, which needs build-up. There's also some other ideas I had, but nothing final.
