^^ A Lovely Poem about Blue Birds
Some birds are colourful,
Some birds are brown.
Some birds make you cheerful,
While others cause a frown.
Listening carefully,
You can hear a tune;
From a bird's beak unsullied,
That picked up your mood.
Curious, you turn around,
To see nothing new.
Sad from this, you feel down,
Until you see a flash of blue.
Slowly you go,
To the place that you heard,
The sound that you know,
Came from a regal blue bird.
And as you wait,
And listen to the song,
Your heart skips a beat,
As you realise it was you all along.
A regal blue bird,
Resting on her perch.
Singing for attention,
At her own reflection.

(*’▽’)ノ Ah, so happy to hear someone in BL community say the MC's name outloud! ^^ Previously, the only people who read this book, weren't BL-minded and that made me cranky because they probably missed a lot of the things I wanted to make apparent in the story! Grrr.

I finished watching Mo Dao Zu Shi's donghua and although you said it was guaranteed not to be too BL, I thought it would have more than just a bromance. But well, I liked it. I must say it's better than I expected, especially the soundtrack.
Ah! Sorry I misunderstood! I am also not a native English speaker ^^.
Unfortunately, BL made in China would never feature true romance as they would be censored or outright forbidden to be released . Though I quoted Yuri! on Ice as a Japanese BL series, it also doesn't actually feature male-male romance (only hints) -- even nowadays, creators of high-scale productions aren't comfortable with making it too obvious for the viewers for the fear of a backlash .

I think part of this fear that creators have is due to the prejudice of people who judge a work before they even know it. Mo Dao Zu Shi has an incredible story and since it wasn't such an obvious BL, I recommended it to a friend, but he already knew it as a 'yaoi anime' and refused to watch.
Oh, so sorry about that. Yeah, it's true. The majority of people who claim to hate BL haven't actually read or watched it. It's okay ^^. It seems the mainstream notices us every once in a while, so we might expand with time as more and more properties get adapted and more and more people get interested in checking it out.
