Welp, as for why Fate's mother is the way she is, remember that it's not exactly modern times where basic human rights have been established. Plus, it's a world full of magic and monsters, and Agatha is fully devoted member of the church. I'll get more into their ideologies and doctrine later in the story, but thanks for reading and commenting!
Also, thanks for pointing out the inconsistencies(not sarcasm, btw), which is something that Starlight used to do once in a while, so it's a bit nostalgic.
