I'd recommend starting with A Friendly Voidling, though, since that's the book closest in style to Unborn Hero, so the one you're most likely to get on with.

Oops. I guess I should have been clearer. Neither comedy nor magical girl genre is my standard fare. I meant to ask which order would be best for catching all the cameos/references. (I mean, obviously release order of chapters would work, but I'd like to avoid jumping around between series as much as possible.)

Reading Friendly Voidling first catches all the cameos, since most of the cameos are Anya. :p There's one more crossover story between Fetch Quest and Lonely Dungeon, but that's explicitly labelled, and has one chapter at the end of each book. (And note the author's note at the start of the second part, linking to a side story in the middle of Unbound Soul that should be read first. That doesn't have spoilers for the rest of Unbound Soul.)

Flight of a Villainess is the only one without any crossovers, so that could come anywhere. Otherwise your timeline is mostly correct. The only wrong one is fetch quest, which happens at more or less the same time as unbound soul. (Katie is summoned from a modern Earth, and she has a crossover where she meets not-Blobby after Synklisi has been established.)

I thought there was a part in fetch quest where Katie met Anya from a friendly voidling in the void???

She did, but it was only Anya she met, not Keri or Jill. Anya ain't mortal, so that meeting came long after the events of friendly voidling.

Oh, I had assumed it happened before friendly voidling oopsie
