at some point they just entirely switch it up to ripping your heart out. No the show doesn't literally go in that direction. I wiped my eyes crying just writing this at least ten times. Super good anime, I think. It has 2 seasons and has a clean ending to the series. I do not suggest the movie
2.) Soldier
90s movie. biggest tearjerker for me in the movie was when he saved a kid but got misunderstood and exiled from the town. Doesn't sound like much but I'd suggest watching it.
3.) Re-Kan!
Has random serious moments where you can find yourself tear up a bit. It's...kind of...refreshing? In an odd way to watch.
