went back and reread him coming his lord class it is a weapon class he mainly used a mace over sword
roland did train with swords/melee weapons when he was younger and he still uses them
That's true, but that was just basic training. You are capped from advancing the skill unless you are of that class. Though Roland can now access them with his Overlord class, he hasn't bothered to do so yet.
