The same word can have multiple definitions in English...
Which is why I said "in this context", because it is the context that dictates what definition of the word you're using.

Although I'm grateful for the feedback, you are incorrect in two ways. (1/2)
First, lay as a verb is to put or set something down, while lie(in this context) is to be in or assume a horizontal position. If he was carrying someone to put them in the bed, lay would be the correct verb.

(2/2) Those two things make 'lied' the correct word there.
Yeah, it's obviously ''lied'', in fact ''layed'' doesn't even exist. In fact ''lied'' would be correct even if the verb was lay, lol. Why all the fuss, luiswu?
