If you like short story’s toss out some one shots and see what interest you. If your looking for an adventure, then make a concept and a very generic time line(that changes at your whim don’t force it!) to provide direction.
(500 char limit XD). Lord of the rings was started at a spoof birthday party. (And one ornery had enough of all their crap hobbit. Just don’t force it like Harry Potter or game of thrones as their endings were lackluster.
