I am finally, FINALLY, done the first draft of "Quincunx," my weird version of an isekai story! Okay, I still need to do the editing and all, and that's going to take some time because this is a monster epic that's going to take about half a year at 5 posts a week (srsly!) but the first draft is done and I am so happy!

I needed a break from my big projects so I pulled up a slice-of-life urban fantasy that I play with - creating the animal and sentient species is fun. Y'know what? I think I'll share it even if it's not "serious". The beginning will be up today, I'll do daily starting Monday. Please read the TW/CWs!

Still here and writing, I promise! Some household health issues cropped up, eating my writing time badly and making it harder to stay focused. My roommate wants me to finish Possession and/or Quincunx so she can see what happens, so we're trying to work around it. Both are monster epics; whichever one is first, the other one will be on its heels, so this is the last hiatus I expect! (I'm just not repeating my mistake with Transposition, starting to release anything that isn't 100% finished!)

I'm too pleased with the characters from "Possession" to not share them when I see a way to do that. Expect some teaser-type content coming here around the second full week of March - or earlier for Patrons, which is, srsly, $1 until I find better rewards. Wow, I've been quiet for a while. That happens when I get deep in a story. It's just a quick look at the two stories my brain is tossing me back and forth between, and an apology for being slow. (I'm quite sure I've written well over 100K words since I last said anything, though, so... I am getting there!) Thanks for being patient!

Well, the isekai story I expected to be quick and light is definitely not going to wrap up in under 100K words. Oops. The world turned out to be worth exploring more and the characters say they need more room to develop, so I guess my plan to move fairly quickly through the key locations failed. The hiatus will be little longer than anticipated, but the end result will be a queer trans poly isekai story with a paramedic MC, a couple of unpleasant antagonists, and more depth than I anticipated.

I really hope I can convince my wandering and often-uncooperative brain to go along with letting me actually finish this story this time around without getting distracted. I hoped to have a new Hallowe'en story this year (it's the best holiday!) but no luck. No idea I came up with felt as good as last year's, which turned out much better than I ever expected.
