The second story has more potential and that's because the first one already killed children in it and generally speaking, killing someone due to paranoia(david haller getting killed) is a very Xi Jinping trait, something you tried to remove in the first chapter of the second story(by a bombing). Also, it's very narrow-minded and kind of feels like the doctor doom in dc or flash in mcu novel. Just a suggestion though, cuz I liked the second one waayyyyyy better.
