I am now going back to re-edit my previous chapter, down from the very first chapter, and will try to push out one edited chapter a day. Today I just finished re-writing the first chapter! The first couple of chapters are hideous to read, and I didn't want it to stop potential readers from enjoying it.
First five chapters had been re-edited!
I have to say that I disagree with you saying that death makes life meaningful, there are plenty I'm sure that would also disagree. I personally don't know what makes life meaningful but if I had to say, it'd be the memories we give other people. I know it's cliche, but it's how I see it.
People would not cherish life as there is no point to, you will never run out of time or have any deadline for your goal. You can sleep well and procrastinate indefinitely knowing that you have an endless lifespan and nothing could force you to move forward.
I suppose I can't disagree with what you have said. I can't help but feel that both our points could be argued and in the end we would both be right. There are many reasons to cherish life.
I think both of you are arguing the same point in a sense. It is only with the inevitable end that is death that humans would be forced to do anything let alone make memories or to appreciate life. It is only when something has a known end that we can treasure it and it is only due to our limited lifespan that we find things to treasure in life.
As such it is this end that impresses others lives and memories of them onto others who relive them to treasure the time that they have. In the end without an end there wouldn't be a beginning and without either of them you would not have a story or memory worth sharing.
