Next chapter is delayed due to me catching some new year bug, me deepest apologies! All my bones ache and I'm constantly tired! Hopefully it clears up in a day or two!
I love the setting of Amelia Thornheart and wanted to ask if it'd be alright to use it as a base for a story written by me? I am asking because i am trying to write but somehow always end up with something ridiculously similar to your story, even if i purposefully try not to. So since i always end up doing it i thought that asking for permission to do so would be a great idea.
Are you asking to use the setting as inspiration or writing a fan-fiction in the same world? Either is fine by me and if anything, it's a huge compliment! After all, creative works are just the culmination of all of our previous experiences put together in new and interesting ways :)
Glad you've enjoyed it so far! Hopefully I can keep it up ^.^ Huge thanks for the series review btw will be sure to give you a shoutout in the upcoming chapter <3
hai! just began your story today! i'm incredibly impressed by your work, especially the worldbuilding. as someone who wants to become a writer as well, is there something you could recommend on how to *organize* your world, or your story in general? anything that you would recommend to a newbie? absolutely love amelia thorneheart! good luck for you future endeavors!
Hello thanks for the kind words :) I wrote Amelia Thornheart mostly by the seat of my pants and it's only now I'm moving to a more structured system with planning. I write in google docs with one document per chapter. As for worldbuilding/notes I generally use Scrivener where I have pages for everything from culture/religion/fauna/flora etc. I'm also looking into Aeon Timeline software to keep track of events and where characters are at certain times.
It's worth mentioning that planning too much can mean you might never get actual words out. I always thought I was a planner but have found I've been far more productive by just sitting down and seeing where the scene takes me.
i feel you. i get too lost in making up my worlds i just forget to write anything. thank you for the advice! i'll be looking forward to more of your work!
I'm live now on twitch for the writing stream of chapter 27, feel free to drop by if you don't mind possible spoilers for today's chapter! https://www.twitch.tv/keenewrites
Still working on the next chapter - currently 3k words. Bit slow writing recently as the building stress of moving in two days! A lot of packing to do
When it's done I'll also advertise the discord for Amelia Thornheart! Had a brainwave earlier: I'm also thinking about streaming my writing on twitch. Might be interesting for some readers to see the process as well as get essentially early access to the next chapter. Anyone think it's a good/bad idea?
@Ravena_Locklin I'm UK based but it might be a good idea to add a poll in the next chapter and see how people are split between EU and West/East US (and elsewhere). I'm not working at the moment so splitting streams for different timezones wouldn't be a terrible idea.
I'm PST so that's around 8 hours difference, do the poll then it should be easy to decide when to stream. If you feel you can stream multiple times a day go for it but I don't think I'd be able to do that without getting very tired. Cookie
You definitely deserve it, so far the story is within or approaching my top five favorites (Only negative so far is it not being longer, but thats changing)
SEVEN hells... Does that mean there are seven ranks of gods? Seven words? Felt like 3 was too few, but the 3rd word is so strong, any higher seems crazy.
