I personally like transformation stories. That a change happens that the MC can't simply ignore.
Nonetheless, I really wish for the character to still behave like a normal person. If not I ask myself what even is the point of the MC being a former human if they for example just act like any other demon.
Also, I have a preferation for female MCs.
Maybe I just got tired of all those harem protagonists. But even if they're not like this, I find that the stuff that happens has less impact. It's somewhat expected from a male character to fight and survive. I find the emotional turmoil of a girl far more relatable.
What I really dislike is when the girl big plastered on a cover is not the supposed MC but the pale guy in the background of the right corner.

So for everyone who's interested. I just released another story. The title is "Arachne". I guess I don't have to be more specific than this. Alternatively, you can look under related stories below Formicea or Slime Girl.

I finally did it. I removed the bulletpoints for everything that isn't a skill name or linking out of slime girl and while I was at it also did thorough editing. God, was that an effort!
Today, through some weird copy error I accidentally publishd a version of the chapter Formicea before I edited it with the help of Saril (many thanks by the way). Just to tell you that it's now a bit different, yet not in a story affecting way.
Uh, I know it's my job to keep on track with this, but does anyone know how the money exchange was in slime girl until now? I noted before they reached the count that it was 7 copper, 9 silver and 1 gold (the last being what they looted from the bounty hunters) but then kinda stopped with the expenses, income list.
Did she bought anything when her party was on a mission in the village?
I'm pretty sure I at least made the count give her some money before the departure. Not sure if there's anything else.
Well, they kept saying they were taking her expenses out of her pay, so I don't think she paid for anything while with the count, and I don't recall her getting any by other means. So 10 gold from the count, possible loot from the encounter while traveling (I'm not sure if they didn't have money or if it was dissolved, currently unspecified), and 1 silver expense at the gate of the city.

Well, somehow Slime Girl and Formicea have both made it on trending in spots #1 and #3 respectively today...
All thanks to careful algorithm manipulation and a new reader writing "Thank you" below each single chap in Formicea.
If it works out, I want to post the next chapter of slime girl next week. Got stalled by different things, mostly by the fact that there was always another inbetween chapter coming up.
So, since comments tended to pro-bulletpoint removal I started doing so. Currently at chapter 10. Being able to influence this is one of the perks of being follower.
I'm thinking about removing the bulletpoints in slime girl aside from attack/ability calls and telepathical connection. How do you think about this?
I don't mind the bulletpoints at all. But it would be work for you to remove them...

Regarding names, if my memory serves me right it was inconsistent so I edited it.
And yes, it's certainly a piece of work. In some earlier corrections of the first chapters (which are now in a far better state than at the start for anyone to reread) I dumped quite many of them.
I think those kind of silent talking/thoughts in bulletpoints should be replaced with italic instead. Some of light novels I read use italic text that way.
I'm using italics for whispering. Bulletpoints were for strong, active thoughts.
Thought I shouldd give an update. Slime girl might take around 3 more weeks till I can again start posting.
Be careful. Slimes can sense you through the smallest gaps. And naturally, pass through them as well.

The issue is more how many authors post on weekends; the feed fills up much faster. On weekdays your story lingers longer on the front page and in reading lists.
That's why I always post 6 minutes after the full hour. To also get behind the 5 minutes later guys.

As if they were trying to make you read a story about another boring standart MC by hiding them in the description or as you said the cover background...
SO FRUSTRATING! I mean do people really like those boring-everyday-male-MC's so much? Apparently they do but I just don't get it. I want my protagonists to be interesting (and ideally female) and not just a self-insert for boring-horny-reader#40687(male)
The issue is that anime and manga are proportionally still rather male-dominated and I guess the common belief is that self-insert isekai protagonists will usually find their fanbase.
The other worrisome trend I dislike that originates from that reason is the poorly made gender-bender insert that doesn't care in the slightest for the traumatic effect and is regularly only a bad excuse to write basically a male.
Once again I can only agree. I personally am quite a fan of that genre but I have found only a small handfull of works which actually did a decent and even fewer who did a great job. In regards to manga I can only think of one. I mean sure it is a small genre, but it is just so disappointing
Now that I'm thinking about it more there were a small couple more manga which did the "genderbender" aspect really well but ended up lower in my personal estimation since other aspects didn't sit well with me...
Tomorrow's chapter of slime girl is going to be special. I first wanted to post just one but then decided to merge it with the next.
Yet I'm sad to announce that as things are I think I'll go on a temporary hiatus at the end of september. My backlog for this story really dwindled. But I promise I'll post more after I refilled it with the next arc that already has quite some chapters to it. It's just that I need this freedom to make adjustments.

You cruel God, promising us gifts but warning of calamity!! Jokes aside ,do what you need to. As long as your happy with your story and our favorite author is alive and well, we could wait a millenia (at least I can).
It's better for the story that way. I manage around 2-3 chapters a week and if I have a backlog I can arrange the order so it fits better. The big fight at the mansion I rewrote like 3 times. And in Eldritch I added a whole week of in-story time after I wrote the first chapters of the current arc.

Did you check out the royalroad story, it's an earlier version (minor changes) but much further along.
I know, read it, but the author also announced that he would change that part when the release ever happens. And I have hope. A slowly dying and crumbling hope but it still exists....
