“Ah… That feels so much better now,” Luci sighed, sinking into the bath.
Almost as soon as she woke up, she made it very clear that we went too far last night. I had to use Restore just so she’d be able to walk without my help…
“Seriously, Mira. How are you not even tired? At this rate it’s looking like we might need to find someone just to help me keep up with you!” she said with a laugh.
“I wish I knew the answer to that, but even if we didn’t go at it for very long, that was still probably the best night of my life. Also… I’d rather you didn’t do that, you know I only have eyes for you, Luci,” I scooted closer to her, leaning my head on her shoulder.
“I was only kidding. You already know I feel the same.”
We stayed like that for a few minutes, simply enjoying each other’s company. Before we had gotten in, we had made sure to wash ourselves very thoroughly to get rid of the smell, which I didn’t notice until Vic mentioned it last night, and then again when Luci commented on it after she woke up.
Suddenly, I heard the click of the door being opened, and immediately sat up to see who it was.
“Oh? What brings you here so early, Lucindell?”
To my surprise, it was Lana, Luci’s mother. Granted, it shouldn’t have been much of a surprise, since this bath is only for the royal family and whoever they choose to bring in with them, but still.
“The two of us just wanted to relax in the bath for a little while before breakfast,” Luci said.
“Fair enough, I do the same fairly often after all,” Lana nodded as she sat down across from us.
For some reason, the mother-daughter pair ended up having a bit of a staredown for a minute, one which I was caught in the middle of. Without warning, Luci stood up to leave, and I quickly followed.
“Wait just a minute, dearest daughter of mine,” that is, until Lana stopped us. “You too, Mira.”
“Y-yes mother?” Luci asked, stopping herself right after she finished climbing out.
“Wanting to relax in the bath is a perfectly valid reason to wake up early, but there’s something that doesn’t add up here,” Lana began. “As your mother, I have known you longer than anyone else, and your whole life, you have been the kind of person who would sleep through lunch if you could get away with it. Even yesterday, this was no different, and I had to send a maid to wake you for breakfast. Not to mention how you clearly struggled to get out of the bath. That being said, I’m going to need one of you to tell me what you were doing last night. Of course, it couldn’t have been that, since both you and your brother promised to wait until you were married.”
“...” Neither of us could manage a response to that.
“Oh… Dear Goddess…” Lana put a hand over her mouth. “You- You did, didn’t you?”
Luci was still frozen in fear, so I spoke up, trying to at least take some of the blame away from her.
“...I’m sorry. I couldn’t hold myself back, and I… made her break her promise. If anyone is at fault here, it’s me,” I said.
“Mira, dear, I’d recommend you actually come up with a good excuse next time you try to lie to me. If you had actually raped her, why would she relaxing in a bath with you the morning after, and clearly enjoying spending time with you. Hah…” she sighed, turning to Luci, who had almost made it out the door while I wasn’t looking. “I won’t tell your father about this, for Mira’s sake, but make sure it doesn’t happen again. Or, at the very least, keep it to levels where you can actually keep it a secret the next day…”
“Y-yes mother,” Luci mumbled, slipping out the door.
“Just another moment, Mira,” Lana stopped me again as I went to follow Luci. “You’re lucky it was me instead of her father that found out. If he ever finds out that you put your hands on his precious daughter, he’d probably try to have you killed, just a warning. That being said, Healing magic should be enough to get rid of the pain as long as one of you is constantly applying it, so keep that up and he probably won’t notice.”
“I understand. Thank you,” I politely bowed, finally leaving the room to get dressed.
Needless to say, the constant knowing glances from both Vic and Lana made for a very awkward breakfast…
