*Ssst, ssst, ssst...* Bridget was sitting in her favorite spot as she shaped the wood to her liking. It had been a while after Theo showed her how to train her mana control, but she had made little progress. In the last 50 days, or so, she had barely started to be able to bend the streams of mana near her fingers, she could bend them for more than a minute before she lost control.

The progress was slow, but she didn't get frustrated because she knew that her progress would be slow, and even Theo had said that multiple times. By now her routine was to practice before bed until she got tired. Bridget was some way off before she could start enchanting her creations but it was what it was, so instead she practiced her crafter skills.

Right now she was trying to make some wooden figures, animals, totems, people, and many more. She was doing this for two reasons, one was to get her skills up, and second so that she could sell them. Bridget needed materials to craft, and she needed money to get these materials, she couldn't just mooch off her parents forever so it was better to get the money sooner than later, plus with some extra money she could maybe help the orphanage, and relieve some pressure from the adults.

While thinking about this her knife whittled the wood down, with every stroke and every movement carving it and sculpting it to her liking, while from time to time stopping and taking a look to see what was her next step. It took her some time, but finally, she got a somewhat decent-looking sheep figurine.

It wasn't a masterpiece by any means, but it was clearly a sheep, it didn't have many details but it looked okay. Putting the sheep next to her Bridget looked up into the sky. The sun was shining brightly and radiating its heat. In the next few days, it would be summer, so the heat was starting to rise, and Bridget wasn't a fan of that.

Just thinking about the 100 days that will mostly be heat and suffering made Bridget's mood drop a little bit. Bridget wasn't a fan of summer, and this world had it for 100 days. To be more precise all the seasons were 100 days long, so the year was 400 days long. Another interesting thing was that there weren't months or weeks in this world, well at least the concepts, as people just used the day numbers, so for example, people didn't say that something would take a month, but instead just said it would take 30 days.

Another fascinating thing was that the calendar was used worldwide even in the places where they didn't fully enjoy all four seasons, the reason being the god of time. Bridget wasn't really interested in religion, even in her situation, so she didn't know the god's name, but the gods were real. As for the new year, it started on winter's 50th day.

While considering this world's calendar, Bridget remembered that Lucas's birthday is on summer's 50th day. She should start thinking about a gift soon. She wanted to make a sword and a shield, but right now, she could only make them out of wood, as she neither had the money nor the skill to work with metal.

*Sigh~* Breathing out a sigh Bridget returned to her carving, she took another wood peace and started her work. With each movement, she got more focused, and at some point, she got so immersed that her perception of her surroundings disappeared as the only thing that mattered was her work. After she finished Bridget broke out of the focus and looked at the wood bunny left in her hand. It was more detailed and of better quality than all her other figurines, but it didn't surprise Bridget because by now she was used to this. Whenever she enters this focused state her work turns out better than usual, she has tried to forcefully enter this state but with no success, so she is just happy when it does happen. After her work was finished she felt a small energizing feeling, so she opened her status.

Bridget distributed her points and then took a look at her stats. She had grown a little bit, but as she was limited by her resources her class leveling had slowed down by a bit, so it was another reason for her to start thinking about how she could earn more money. Unfortunately, she still hadn't mastered the mana manipulation otherwise she could start selling some enchanted tools. But right now she was just selling her figurines for some copper. She initially didn't plan on selling them, but one day father asked her if she ever thought about selling them.

Somehow that talk evolved into her start selling them at father's bakery. She made them and then gave them to father who displayed them in his bakery. From time to time clients decided to buy a figurine or two, resulting in Bridget getting a few copper coins. The extra money was nice, but it wasn't enough for her to start buying stuff, all it was was some nice pocket money.

So recently she had started working on ideas that could help her with that. As she is limited by her material, she had only a few ideas in mind, one was to make a game, something like chess, or maybe she could start selling wood practice weapons, for those interested.

Of course, those were the initial ideas, she could make more with wood, like combs, canes, bowls some toys like spinning tops, and so much more, but she needs an initial client base to start her little wood business, so she had to figure out what people needed the most in this town, so that they come to her, and then when she gets good enough reputation she gets some custom orders, making her even more money.

It wouldn't be such a big problem if she had more skill in woodworking or if there weren't any wood craftsmen in this town, but she wasn't that lucky so Bridget had to think about her product.

While still thinking about all that Bridget returned to carving some wood figurines, she hoped the idea would come to her at some point. She could worry about it but there was no reason her hands couldn't move at the same time. So like this she continued carving while at the same time thinking about her dilemma.
