The black sky was trembling while the black water of the Undead Pool was seething. The Undead Fire scattered across the pool but then came the quake that affected not only the Pool but also the surroundings.
“Hold your ground!” the undead leader said. The transcendent then formed a wall in front of the congregation, protecting those behind them. This caused the quake effect to be reduced. The congregation could feel that they could stand firm despite the shaking.
Tatsumi realized that the quake not only affected the Undead Pool and its surroundings but also spread outward. He saw that the distant building was also shaking, clearly, the quake reached that far.
The waves did not end as it kept coming with an increased intensity. It started from the center of the Undead Pool before it spread to the entire Necropolis.
Dian was overseeing the process but he could not help but look at the result of its progress. He helped by infusing some of his energy so that it stabilized the quake, preventing it from spreading further to the entire Undead Secret Realm.
The Malicium and the Etherium now were not covered by anything and were basically attracted by each other’s energy. Dian separated the two by placing a layer of space between them. The space was basically separating the two.
“Child, it is time for you to do your part.” Dian’s loud voice reverberated throughout the Undead Pool.
Almost all who heard that were confused. At this time, Tatsumi was the only one who looked at the cloudy figure. His eyes were resolute and determined.
He knew that the time had come for him to give something. Even though he did not know exactly what it was, he stepped forward.
Tatsumi walked and walked, past the group. Ame had a concerned look on her eyes but she decided to trust the arrangement made by the Father God and the people involved. She believed that they would not agree if this harmed Tatsumi.
Then Tatsumi walked past the representative and the undead leader. Both of the figures saw him move past them and were astonished to find out that this person was the one they had to protect.
Then Tatsumi felt that there was a cloud under his feet, no it was really a cloud. Strangely enough, the cloud was solid enough to be a stepping platform. He stood on it and let the cloud carried him to the center of the pool where the two different color crystal was floating.
“What do I do, Father God?” Tatsumi muttered. He knew that the Father God could hear him, so he wanted to know how to proceed from this point onward.
“Just extend your arm. No matter what, do not move until it is done.” Dian’s voice spread out and even Tatsumi could hear the voice.
Tatsumi nodded. He assumed it would be a challenge if even the Father God reminded him of that. Taking a deep breath, Tatsumi then extended both arms and braced himself for whatever was coming his way.
His arms extended to the two crystals that was floating in the middle of the pool.
Dian, Leif and Ghylea then channeled the energy inside their manifestation. The three energies then converged toward the center of the pool. It caused wild colors to flash in the black sky as a small pressure descended upon all in the Undead Pool.
The pressure also affected the protective wall shield that the Transcendent used to cover the congregation. Those people had to clench their teeth as the pressure hit the shield and changed the surface of the shield.
The shield which was black in color dented and slightly deformed due to the pressure it received. Fortunately, it did not shatter so the Transcendents there kept to their position while channeling their transcendent energy to empower the shield.
Then, when the three different energies met, they formed a triangular formation that covered the entire Undead Pool. The Undead Fire flickered as Tatsumi felt something being extracted from his body.
‘What is this?’ Tatsumi wondered. He did not know exactly what that was, but he was certain that this was always part of his body. Now that it was being extracted, his body had a rejection reaction and Tatsumi felt that his arms sent a pain signal to his brain.
But before the pain increased, Tatsumi caught a flash from the corner of his eyes. Then it turned into a brilliant light that enveloped his sight.
Tatsumi grimaced in pain but when he opened his eyes, what he saw was not the two crystals nor the black sky. What he saw was a small spherical form floating in darkness. He also realized that he was in a similar situation to the sphere.
Tatsumi turned his head to see something in the distance. He could see that far in the distance, there was a violet light source that illuminated the darkness. Tatsumi could also see there were numerous light sources with varying intensity.
‘Starry sky. This is the starry sky. What am I looking at here?’ Tatsumi then returned his gaze to the sphere. It was hit by numerous objects that floated in its direction. But a closer look revealed that the objects crashing into the sphere served to increase its mass and made the sphere bigger overall.
Tatsumi did not know what he was supposed to do here but he kept looking at the sphere. Then he found out that the sphere started to form ice on some of its parts. Then Tatsumi saw that the sphere spewed out something that came from inside it.
‘Wait a minute, Miss Charlene said that the early part of the creation of the planet began with the activity of the planet increasing. Is this what I am seeing?’ Tatsumi fell into contemplation. He had the urge to ask but there was no one to answer his question right now.
Then as if the speed of the process sped up, the sphere started to spin and formed something on its surface. Tatsumi realized that it formed a thing called ocean.
Then from that ocean, Tatsumi could see a layer of things enveloping the planet itself. He realized that it was the atmosphere that proved to be protecting the living beings on the planet.
At the same time, Tatsumi could also see that there were activities down on the ocean of planet. His vision then followed since he wanted to take a closer look. He could see that there was life in the ocean. But the size was so small it could not be seen by the naked eye.
Tatsumi was amazed by the sight, as this was the type of sight he could achieve by looking through the microscope.
After that, Tatsumi saw that the small life multiplied and even devoured its kind. Looking at it, Tatsumi knew that there was a change and he wondered what the meaning was for showing him this.
Suddenly, Tatsumi could hear a voice. It was as if the voice came from the far distance, and it also felt like the voice came from the distance past where there was not even a trace of human existence.
“Star….Child…”
Tatsumi could not understand what was said but he caught a term. He memorized it in case it led him to an important thing. Then he returned, seeing the change of the life on the ocean of the planet.
They changed over time and also started to dominate the ocean. After some time, some of them even started to go to what was called the land of the planet, where they diversified even more.
‘This is how life began, according to one theory, right?’ Tatsumi thought.
But Tatsumi was not satisfied with just looking at the evolution of life down on the planet so he focused his sense to perceive the situation on the entire planet. Then he felt a strange sense of order came from the entire planet.
He perceived something else. He could see something that kept watching the entire planet but it was faint enough that Tatsumi had to give it his all to perceive it.
But before he could grasp the source of the thing he perceived, he glanced at the planet once more and saw a transformation which shocked him.
He saw a monkey that slightly changed its appearance over three generations that kept happening. Until he saw what he could call a human being. Tatsumi felt that he had realized what he had been seeing all this time.
“Could it be….that this is the process of evolution the Cerulean Planet has to go through?” Tatsumi’s heart shuddered when that realization came to his head.
Then he closed his eyes as he saw a flash of light enveloping his vision once again. When he came to his senses, he saw that everything had returned to its supposed place.
He realized that in front of him, an egg-shaped multicolored thing was floating in front of him. Tatsumi felt a closeness to the egg-shaped thing but he did not know the exact reason. He felt that he had a fondness for that thing.
Then a searing pain sensation came to his mind. It came from his arm which was still extended. His breath became rough as he endured the pain.
Since Dian told him that he had to keep the position until told not to, he obeyed. It was because Tatsumi did not know what would happen when he disobeyed. If the consequences were serious, it would be something that he could not afford to repay.
If it affected the entire operation here, he would be the biggest sinner not only to the people involved but probably to the Father God as well.
‘Since this is what the Father God wanted, I will do my best to help.’ With that thought, Tatsumi persisted.
“Alright, that is enough.” When Dian saw the thing in the center of the pool, he knew that the process was done and told Tatsumi to retract his arms. Dian even went to Tatsumi’s side to help him recover.
Tatsumi was surprised to see that the manifestation of the Father God was helping him. But he did not refuse since he felt that his condition was not exactly fine.
He kept glancing at the egg-shaped thing that radiated multiple colors, just like a rainbow. Tatsumi knew that it was a mixture of the energy from the three gods, two transcendent energy sources, as well as something from him to make it happen.
The triangular formation started to crumble since the energy to maintain it was gone. Leif and Ghylea also closed in on the center.
“What is this?” Tatsumi blurted out subconsciously. When he realized what he had said, Tatsumi had a nervous expression.
‘I should not have said that!’ Tatsumi berated himself.
“Ah, I was wondering when you were going to ask.” Dian knew what Tatsumi was thinking even without seeing his face. He continued, “This is the embryonic form of the consciousness of the entire Cerulean Planet. It needs the current energy from the three of us, the available transcendent energy as well as a fragment of destiny from a Star Child.”
Tatsumi was surprised. From the sound of it, creating this consciousness was a big deal even for the three gods. Even more surprising was that the figure who held great power had been explaining things to him, even though this was probably the most important event that had been held.
“You understand why we needed you for this, right?” Dian’s voice reverberated in Tatsumi’s mind. Tatsumi quickly looked at the congregation and saw that they did not hear the conversation.
Tatsumi returned his gaze to the cloudy figure and nodded his head, understanding fully what had been used to create the embryonic form of the planet’s consciousness.
“Other than that…” Dian’s voice continued to be conveyed to Tatsumi. “…did you see the birth of the planet as well as the change of the world in it?”
Tatsumi’s eyes widened as he did not expect Dian to know about it.
As if Dian knew what was going on in Tatsumi’s mind, he spoke.
“It is because your consciousness is connected to the core of the planet itself, allowing you to glimpse at its memory from the distant past to the point where humans first appeared on the planet. It means that the consciousness of the Cerulean Planet has accepted you. It is a good thing.”
Tatsumi even wondered whether the Father God could know everything in this place. But that curiosity could only stay on his head, never to be let out.
Dian then extended his cloudy hand as he did something that Tatsumi did not understand. But in the entire Cerulean Planet, only Dian could stabilize the aftermath of the event.
He stabilized the Undead Secret Realm’s space before he extended his influence outward to the mantle and the ground of the planet. After making sure that nothing significant had occurred during the event, Dian retracted his arm.
As for Leif and Ghylea, they descended to meet the undead leader and the representative of the congregation. At this point, the transcendents finally dispelled the shield because the situation returned to normal.
Both of them bowed their body as they cupped their hand, something that they learned from part of human culture as a form of respectful gesture.
“Well met, Death Sovereign and Artisan God!”
All of the people and undead there paid obeisance to the two manifestations. Yamaguchi had a glint in his eyes as he imprinted the manifestation figure into his mind. These were also applicable to Ame, the shadow guards and even Long Wu.
Long Wu had third parts curious and seven parts respectful to them. But he glanced at the far distance where Tatsumi was and could not help but worry.
As the quake ended, the undead element started to stabilize and freely flowed once again. Tatsumi sighed with relief at the sight that recovered to its former appearance.
“Well, you didn’t visit me for the last few months so you don’t know about the term Star Child implied.” Dian spoke while Tatsumi rolled his eyes, realizing that he could not hide what he was thinking from Dian.
Dian then explained about the Star Child.
“You could say that they are the ones who changed the direction of the civilization they are in. They are the game changer, so to speak.”
Tatsumi contemplated this new information and the things that had happened to him so far. He started to understand why he got so many fortunate events, why even Ame got closer to him, as well as realizing his future prospects.
“Father God, may I be so bold as to ask you one last thing?” Tatsumi said this after he calmed his mind.
“Child, you are someone I pay attention to. Even Leif and Ghylea are starting to see if you can live up to your status as a Star Child. So just say it for your own tranquility.” Dian spoke with a warm tone.
Speaking to one of his own created races made Dian feel happy for a certain reason.
Tatsumi nodded and he opened his mouth.
“How does one become selected as a Star Child, no what criteria are needed for one to become a Star Child? From the overall perspective, I am just like any other human in existence. I don’t know why I have become entitled to such a thing. Please, Dear God, enlighten me on this one.”
Dian could feel all the emotion Tatsumi had. He was flabbergasted and confused about his newfound identity and status.
Tatsumi knew that the title was important enough that many of the top figures of human civilization were probably aware of the extent of that but to him, it was a sudden burden that weighed his shoulders. His conscience could not accept that he had become the person who could change the direction of a civilization as a whole.
“The core essence of a Star child is the accumulation of the destiny seed that was planted deep inside the race. When the civilization begins to take form, the seed then sprouts out special intangible thing related to destiny. It chooses whoever it wants and is worthy to be chosen. You are the latter, child.
“Furthermore, you probably realized that you are not the first one,” Dian said before he let Tatsumi sort out the information given.
Tatsumi nodded while putting his hand to his head, which looked a bit strange since he wore a protective suit.
‘I understand! So I am the second one. The first one is obvious, it is Miss Charlene.’ Tatsumi clenched his hand into a fist. One session with Dian allowed Tatsumi to understand the question that lingered in his mind.
‘But I have to strive…for my family, my closest one, for myself…I cannot waste time anymore!’ Tatsumi then followed his thought and his heart to reach a certain conclusion.
He would learn everything about the Transcendent, from the most elementary knowledge to its most obscure. He had decided to accept Long Wu’s offer, thought about accepting the offer from Hecates regarding the Transcendent Academy as well as preparing for the future where he was involved in a Star Battle.
If the Star Child was supposed to change the direction of the civilization, Tatsumi hoped that it would change from a torturous detour to a straight line to the answer the civilization needed.
Dian, who perceived the determination of the young man and slowly lifted him to the edge of the pool where the congregation had been standing.
At this time, Leif and Ghylea had given the instruction to secure the area around the Undead Pool, to be exact, around the egg-shaped thing floating in the middle of the pool.
That thing would become the spirit of the Cerulean Planet but it needed to be nurtured and developed. That was why the three gods needed the people to take care of it.
Thanks for the chapter!! 😁
