I start drawing hearts like mad.

One heart on every empty special page.

Give me all that mana. I want everything.

You drew a Heart of Mana blueprint

|  Do you want to build a Heart of Mana on this page?  |

|          Yes                                                                   No          |

This message appears multiple times

I click Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes ......

Now I have 35 hearts of mana which gives me a total of 49 770 MP.

I am ready to scan the first page.

Scan(1000)

Scanning progress (12%)

Scan(2000)

Scanning progress (18%)

Scan(2000)

Scanning progress (22%)

What is going on? The progress is getting slower. Is the composition of this part of the page different?

My mana needs to pass through the cover to read the page.

If the cover is thicker less mana will pass through.

If it keeps going like this I won't be able to read the first page completely.

I need to increase my total mana or the mana I get back from scanning.

I drew semispherical walls on the first page to increase the mana reabsorbed after Scan.

But there are holes between them.

I can draw them on the second page to fill the holes left between the semispherical walls on the first page.

In this way, I can get more mana back when using Scan.

Let's do that and continue.

Scan(2000)

Scanning progress (24%)

The semispherical walls on the second page work. Maybe they can also be useful for the natural recovery of mana.

Now let's finish the scanning

Scan(2000)

Scan(2000)

Scanning progress (100%)

On one of my normal pages, there is a piece of text. Every time I made I scan I wrote the part of the text I scanned. Now I am writing the last part.

The first page can finally be read.

It says:

Since ancient times, there were wars.

Wars were sporadic. They rarely happened and only small tribes participated.

That age was called the primordial peace.

But then the age of wars came.

Gods and devils declared their presence to the world. A passage to hell was opened and demons started pouring out.

Demons said that the devils needed more fertile land and now that planet was theirs.

Other races couldn't accept that. The gods, which favored humans, summoned heroes to fight the demons.

The demons selected a demon king to guide them in the wars against the heroes.

Sometimes demons won and sometimes heroes won. But the war had no end.

A few years after a demon king was defeated. A new one appeared. And the same went for heroes.

The age of war lasted hundreds of years.

But like all things. It ended.

One day, a weak demon was cast out by his tribe. After 12 years it returned, much stronger than before. So strong that he even beat the demon king. So strong that no heroes could beat him.

Gerald, that was his name. He became the greatest demon king.

After ascending to the throne he requested a meeting with the heroes.

That was unprecedented. When the heroes and the demon king were alone in the meeting room everybody expected only one faction to come out.

Some time passed but no sound of fighting could be heard from inside.

What could have happened?

The doors opened and the demon king walked out, with a smile on his face.

But then some other shadows could be seen. The heroes walked out too, crying of joy.

A new era of peace had started. Humans and demons divided their territories and the age of war ended. Roads were built. Cities too. Commerce flourished. Humans and demons started to cooperate more and hate each other less.

It was an incredible era. New things were invented every day and most importantly, people were happy.

Gerald was the happiest of them. He was always smiling and trying to talk with humans as much as possible. He wanted to show them that they weren't that different after all.

There was even a rumor that he was going to marry a human.

However, gods and devils were not happy. Due to a mysterious incident, Gerald died soon after. On his deathbed, he tried to warn us about something, but nobody understood his words.

A new age of war had began.

In this book, we will describe demon king Gerald's life in detail.

What is this?

Good demons. Bad gods. I want to read more!

But it'll be difficult if I keep scanning the pages like I'm doing right now.

I have to create new living ink every once in a while because the one inside the beetles turns to undried ink after some time. As if the beetles run out of battery.

I guess there's no such thing as infinite energy. Even in this world.

After refueling the beetles I needed to draw a mechanism that would pop 2000 mana spheres at the same time and semispherical walls that wouldn't interfere with the mechanics.

Then I needed to draw the spherical walls on the second page.

If that was not enough I needed to do all of this in a couple of minutes because the ink disappears after a while.

And I needed to do this for every scan because the ink disappears after some minutes.

It was barely doable with Scans that use 2000MP but I don't think I can use this method in the future.

I want to cast Scan multiple times every second. Only in that way I can see the world around me.

I need a lot of mana and more automation.

See you next time.
