I know this has nothing to do with Mato's character sheet, but for a while now we've been thinking back to Vivian's comment in Chapter 188 about rich guilds in the cities buying out gold-ranks from places like Myrin's Keep:
“The second problem is more personal,” Vivian finally explained. “Many new guilds die when they begin producing gold-ranked adventurers. Picked over by the vultures. Achieving gold is hard, and quite valuable outside of places like Myrin’s Keep. The guilds from prosperous cities, with their cushy environments don’t produce many, but they can afford to devote quite substantial resources to poaching talent from frontier guilds like ours. You will most likely be offered a lot to move, and I’m worried that we’ll lose you.”
…and stars, I know it's petty, but we really want to see the scene where someone shows up thinking their cash can get them one or more of the Soul Monk, Druidic Shapeshifter, Archer of Light, and weirdly-anonymized nature/arcane summoner mage listed for Myrin's Keep.
Ali cant move without an incredible effort AND killing her aunt.
Malika will never leave her wife.
Calen would literally be paid to turn the f*ck around and go back to Myrin's Keep on Elven Federal Budget. unless New Daria which should be suffering comprehensive economic stress, with the royal family deeming the build-crippled archer to be worth outbidding the Wood Elven Royal Family AND mindcontrolling Lyanru, he's not leaving.
the only one who isn't implicitly nailed to Myrin's Keep is Mato, and the bearman has no motivation to look for alternatives because his best friend is here as are the funny lesbians.
Myrin's Finest and The Leftovers further are split into two camps: Seth, Devon, and Sneeze view Ali as essentially their queen. Aiden, Kate, Sir Only-Appears-Once, Teagen, Willow, and Baden consider Ali a cheating f*ck who they WILL overtake. Basil is off on the side making potions being like "Hey, I either work here or I have to go find some other job that's WAY harder for a Dungeon Herbalist"
@toapat Plus, I seriously question if they could outbid Myrin's Keep's adventurer amenities - the adventurers are literally pulling magicite out of the local dungeon! Really, we want to see it purely for the Schadenfreude.
@packbat ya, its not really that Viv can outbid anyone, Aliandra moreso exists in absolute dominance over the concept of the poaching attempts with her Black Adamantine Dildo, Library shes slowly counterfeiting a worthwhile collection for, and dungeon supplied by the Archaeological find of the millenium.
@toapat …and now we're imagining some poor city guildmaster getting a message from the adventurer sent to recruit saying that they're quitting and moving to Myrin's Keep, so long and thanks for all the fish.
@packbat "poor" in this case meaning wearing gilded platinum dragonscale in a room made of diamond.
@toapat Oh, naturally, naturally.
