This is it. A cave that resides within the wall of the capital, place for adventurer to go in and test their skill or whatever.

“Who goes there!” The guard who’s assigned to this place asked.

“Just two adventurer thinking about going inside” I explained.

“Let me see your guild card” The guard demanded.

“Here you go, you do the same as well” I show the guard my card and prompt Rosia to do the same, and she certainly did.

“Very well, you both may pass” The guard said as she walk away, it’s a surprise to see a female guard about in this kind of setting.

“Let’s go” I said to Rosia.

“Of course” She replied.

“This place isn’t that big of a deal compared to that mountain I would say” Rosia said as she cut down the monster in one swing.

“Seems that way, but perhaps as we go down the place we’ll find something more interesting” I replied. This place is more like a labyrinth than a cave for certain, which is fine by me, I wouldn’t want to explore a messy and damp cave.

“So how long will we be in here for?” She asked.

“We’ll go for a few hours I would say, just until we got overwhelmed, which is unlikely” I replied.

“Very well” She said.

“The monsters here still aren’t getting stronger with floor like you said” Rosia noted.

“I’m pretty sure the difference in power is perhaps a bit much for you to notice” I explained.

“Perhaps, speaking of which could you explain more of the system to me in the meantime?” She asked. There are still some monsters about but it’s not a big deal.

“Well, what part would you like to know about?” I asked.

“How does level work?” She asked.

“How does that work huh? As far as I know it’s based on what you do, with level increasing so is your strength” I start explaining.

“That’s an obvious point, but how does one actually raise levels?” She asked.

“A bit impatient aren’t you? Well usually killing is the way to raise it, it’s the most reliable way of doing so, but as people grow level also increase naturally” I explained.

“Any other way?” She asked.

“Try meditating and feed mana into your body also work, but honestly it’s too long to be practical” I explained.

“I see” She replied.

There’s one thing I want to do after we get out of here and find a place to lodge in, I think I should tell her about it now.

“Hey Rosia” I started.

“What is it?” She asked slicing away the nearby monster.

“I’m thinking about doing something alone after we find a place to stay” I said.

“I hope you can wait during that time” I finished.

How long have we been doing this gig of killing monsters mid conversation? I didn’t keep count.

“Now that I think about it a teleportation spell would be useful right about now” I said as we walk back on our way out of the dungeon.

“That’s a thing?” Rosia asked.

“Indeed, one would need high proficiency in space to do so, and space is one of the most complicated and rare element” I explained.

“And can’t you use it?” She asked.

“Well I tried to use it before but with no result unfortunately, perhaps with a bit more time I could’ve done it” I said.

“Is that so? Perhaps you should use your time better and maybe you’ll learn it by now” She remarked.

“You’re definitely not wrong on that, but you also haven’t practice space magic have you?” I said.

“Admittedly I haven’t, but I was practicing something else as well, unlike you” She retort.

“Fair enough, maybe I’ll start practicing it after I’m done with my business” I said.

“You better, because with that ability getting her out of there will be a lot simpler” She said. That is certainly true.

“Then I’ll put my best effort into practicing, you have my word” I said somewhat cheerfully to her.

“Good to hear” She said with a pleased smile.

“Much more lively than that town’s guild for sure” I commented as we walk inside. This guild building is much larger than the one in that town, a lot more people as well. 

“Honestly it’s a bit off putting” Rosia said.

“Well you aren’t a one for socializing” I replied.

“Let’s just to find the place to lodge in so you can go do your business” She said.

“Very well” I said. Both of us then walked to the reception to see a few people there with a few receptionist on the other side. Perhaps lodging in will be a bit more troublesome than expected… actually the seems there are multiple section to this, one for doing requests, one for requesting, and one for lodging. The lodging reception is empty right now so that’s convenient. Both Rosia and I then walk to the receptionist.

“Welcome” The receptionist said.

“We’ll both stay here for… three nights, same room” I said to the receptionist.

“Very well, you would like the bed to be separate correct?” She asked. Both Rosia and I then looked at each other and pause for a bit…

“No thank you” I said.

“Ah! Also please show me your guild cards, this is a place for adventurers after all” She said.

“Here” I said as I show her my card, Rosia also do the same.

“I see… thankfully there’s such a room empty for the moment, the total cost will be 1 silver coin and 9 bronze coins” She said as she give our cards back, I get the money out give it to her.

“Here” I said.

“Thank you, wait for a bit as I go get the key” She said.

“Here, your room number is on the key, also please sign both of your name here” She said.

After a few steps we finally got a room. It’s about the same in quality I would say, though obviously bigger due to being a room for two, the bed is definitely for two people. Some chair and a table, a drawer, magic lamp, the usual stuff I supposed.

“Make sure you came back quickly” She said.

Outside of the capital somewhere in the woods, I look around to see if anyone is around, and take a cautious stance.

“You have been observing me for quite some time now, show yourself” I said firmly. Whoever this is is no ordinary person, and I can’t possibly over look that.

“So you did indeed noticed, pretty good! Well not showing myself now would be rude wouldn’t it?” A voice can be heard, the voice is somewhat androgynous sounding, lean a bit more on the feminine side I would say.

“Where are you?” I asked while keeping up the serious voice, I’m not taking this lightly.

“Everywhere to be exact, but I’ll show ‘myself’ if you wanted to see” The voice said.

Hm? Is this rock always here? The strange dark hole in it then have two dot of light came from it, like some sort of rock creature looking at me.

“So you’re the one” I said, I’m still keeping my guard up and voice up.

“Hey no need to be so serious. Well. Maybe if I show myself differently” The rock said. Suddenly its appearance immediately shifted. It’s become human like in appearance. An androgynous but pretty looking human appeared, clean white skin, neck-length dark brown hair with heterochromia eyes, right one is amber and the left is green, wearing a purple and yellow scarf, a purple robe and what appeared to be pants down there, no shoes though.

“So you can shapeshift” I commented.

“Yep, and I think you should chill, I’m not going to do anything” They said.

“Then why were you watching me?” I asked.

“Look can’t one be curious about a particular individual?” They asked.

“That’s stalking” I replied.

“Hey didn’t meant for it to come that way, I’m sorry okay?” They said sounding apologetic enough.

“Anyway what the hell are you?” I asked. I could just use [Appraisal] but I might as well ask.

“Ah, I haven’t introduced myself have I? Well to be exact I didn’t exactly have a name at birth, but I do name myself some time later. Anyway my name is Terra, or you could call me by other Earth-related name. I’m a reincarnator” They explained. So a reincarnator… I wouldn’t be surprised if they know about the system and already appraise me.

“Wow, I didn’t expect you to flat out tell me that” They said.

“Like it mattered, from your demeanor so far you’ll probably not do anything with that information” I said.

What the hell is this monstrosity? Anyway you look at it this is just plain absurd. Even that woman is nothing compared to this thing. All of these numbers are so ridiculous I have no idea what to make of it.

“That’s a specific question, why are you asking this?” I said.

“From the sounds of it you don’t have the answer to that. As for your question she’s my niece from my old life, she’s a light in my life I would say, a bit sickly and frail, but she’s a good kid, and nerdy” They said.

“Why would you expect her to be here? From that otherworldly title of yours shouldn’t she be in a different world?” I asked.

I should go back before Rosia gets mad, she seems really clingy to me so leaving her hanging would probably ended badly one way or another.

“I was just going out to check something personally is all” I said putting on a friendly and casual tone hoping she’ll calm down a little.

“We both know at this point that we see through each other, just spill the bean” She said sounding even more aggressive. Sheesh she sounds like a overly clingy girlfriend… let’s not imagine that.

“Now you’re getting a little red, the hell are you thinking about now?” She interrogated. I might as well say what’s going on in a roundabout way.

“Someone was watching us so I go confronted them and all that okay? They’ll leave us alone” I said feeling slightly exasperated.
