I just stand there silently as the lecture keeps going.

“Those working for The Church are often very adamant in getting any light users, so if possible try not to use any if you can. Also please don’t use any dark magic, none of us are even sure how it actually worked just yet, so I’d recommended not using any dark looking magic” The teacher from yesterday said. It seems that kind of thing also existed here.

“Hey, is this church prominent or just annoying?” I suddenly asked in the middle of the lecture. Everyone’s face just became dumbstruck all of a sudden, with the teacher looking at me stupefied.

“Umm… They are rather prominent and vocal, but I wouldn’t say they hold more power than the king” He explained not being entirely sure. What is this religious place even about?... Actually I don’t care.

“Okay, where is the organization?” I asked wondering if he even knows where it is. He looks rather concerned as I said so.

“...I’m not certain” He said, trying to dodge the bullet, and I’ll let it slide.

“If you say so” I replied as I went back to leaning against the wall.

...Everyone is perplexed and stays silent for a while… Then the teacher finally gets it together and rouses himself back into teaching.

“Alright everyone, as I was saying. The Church is a rather large organization inside the walls of the kingdom, they are supportive of those not going against their faith and especially those who share the same beliefs, but doing anything clearly contradicting them like dark magic or refusing to join them with light magic at your side can be quite problematic, not only for you but us as well, as you all are supposed to fight the Demon Lord… or rather supported the Hero on the battlefield once the time came. Any questions so far?” He said while looking around the room. Aside from my stint earlier there’s really nothing troubling happening, which is great but also means my stay here is unneeded… I supposed I could go right now… but maybe I should wait for a bit.

“Teacher” Mitsuka raises his hand and says so to gain the attention of the teacher, who noticed him of course.

“What is it Mits- Mitsuka” The teacher replied with slight difficulty getting Mitsuka’s pronunciation right. My classmates are all Japanese with their name vastly different from this world’s, or rather this country’s. Since this seems to be an alternate USA in the distant distant past such a pronunciation is most likely unheard of and hard to get used to.

“Are we to be in the academy for the entire month unless there’s an activity?” Mitsuka pointed out something rather important, unlike me everyone else has that problem they have to deal with, lack of freedom due to being a bunch of weak otherworlders. I get away with it most likely because they know I’m too much for them to handle, but just a bunch of teenagers it’ll be no problem.

“Hmm… I cannot say so myself, however at least you should be out of here before the end of the month, I do not believe they’ll keep you in this kind of place not being used to the world outside” The teacher stated his opinion. I would say he’s certainly right they won’t be kept here for literally an entire month, what I’m more concerned about is if they’ll have any sort of freedom here.

If there is one thing that causes the summoning of otherworlders to be a detriment for the summoners it is allowing them freedom, it’s the reason why they fall. Within novels any good villain or extremist will know that the best way to make the naive otherworlders useful is to keep them under constant surveillance and no freedom to speak of, if they just let them loose or abandoned them all that’ll remain at best is a bunch of wild cards that can easily go against them. Another thing about lack of freedom is also the lack of exploit, obviously without the free reign to do anything there’s next to no chance that the otherworlders could exploit their increased growth in a way the summoners could think of or didn’t want, or abused something within the world itself that those savvy enough know how to deal with.

This kingdom here certainly has some sense in them at least, they aren’t the villains here but certainly not the best of the bunch, that much is pretty clear. The first one is so easily tricked and weak and that’s why just a bit of smooth talk and I’m free as a bird, from the looks of it this world is more knowledgeable about summoning considering how they deal with it and how many they could summon.

“I see…” Mitsuka muttered, sounding a bit worried, I get where he’s coming from.

“Teach! Then where the heck do we go next?” The rude guy asked, certainly not the most polite but at least he pointed out something.

“From little I know there should be a place for mages and knights, the department for both are under the jurisdiction of the royal family and of the highest rank. I’m but a mere teacher but that’s the little I have heard of. It means you’ll all be under the direct order of the king, which is no doubt an honor as it is stressful… As concerning as that is I hope you all best of luck, you’re all way less rowdy than the kids of the noble families” He said while giving some transparency... Isn’t this a death flag? Being too nice and more progressive than the age the story takes place in tends to mean you’ll die. Tropes aside, those ahead of their time tend to get into a lot of trouble, so he’ll no doubt meet some down the line.

“That’s concerning” Tony commented as if knowing full well how much he’s jinxing it, and even the teacher seems a bit concerned with what he said himself.

“Ahem! Let’s all keep this a secret okay? There’s no need for such a discussion for now, any other question?” He cleared his throat and asked.

“Teacher?” Sarah raised her hand and called out. He of course noticed her.

“What is it?” He replied.

“Are there any special events taking place we have to know of? Or is it all classified?” She asked, another thing to take note of, aside from the climatic moment next month there should be something else to take note of, I doubt it’ll all be training.

“Hmm… Unfortunately I have no details on the matter” He regretfully said. Now that’s concerning, as seen with Sarah's less than pleased expression.

“Okay…” She muttered.

“Alright, anything else before we move on?” The teacher asked.

…Nothing. Well I do have something to ask.

“Okay teacher guy what’s the next on the agenda? What are you teaching next? Because based on your answer I can either help or can’t” I suddenly speak up again, which for some reason always takes everyone by surprise.

“Well, all I want to talk about next is the etiquette towards the nobles here, we haven’t encountered any problem between both side so far but it’s better if we-”

“Guess I’ll be leaving then” I cut him off sounding very bored, guess I’ll go speak to Floria early. I opened the door out and.

*Close*

I wouldn’t be surprised if I leave them dumbstruck at the sheer audacity of me just doing whatever the whole time.

Anyhow since I left them I should go out and actually meet up with Floria. I need to ask her if she has anything to do… and I also have to get some money to compensate those I make her waste… I still have some dragon parts left, as well as a bunch of stuff from other worlds as well. I mean I even have gold on me, if they’re still very valuable here.

…I’ll just have to find out, but first let’s get out of here.

#####

*Zoom*

I teleported to the rooftop near the square, with the guild not too far away. NowI just have to sneakily… actually I could’ve just done this, this world isn’t exactly advanced enough for cameras and such anyway.

*Zoom*

I have no idea if I startled her how badly exactly as I teleported into her room completely unannounced. She’s here with her eyes widened, still on her bed, probably still resting from yesterday's dinner?

“Hey there Floria, sorry I came in suddenly, it’s easier this way” I greeted a bit tactlessly.

“I thought you would’ve come way later” She noted looking a bit mad, I didn’t interrupt her right?

“Well, I just find the whole deal too bothersome to care so I came here instead. Anyhow wants to show me where I can sell all the loot? I’d imagined one existed around here if you think you can amass money” I said playfully with a wink, it’s a bit fun to let loose a bit when someone is overly serious, so they can open up a bit easier.

“Sure…” She said looking a bit sleepy still as she stood up and readying her clothes… actually she wasn’t wearing much there so maybe that’s why she was a bit angry? I didn’t notice it however so I don’t feel too bad about it.

“Good! If all went well we could easily gained back all the money we lost” I said with quite a good deal of audacity considering-

“My money” She helpfully corrected as she put her dark blue coat on.

“Yeah yeah, let’s go” I said patting her shoulder and letting her lead the way.

#####

Just under the guild is it? Probably should’ve guessed that, and it’s a bit out of the public eye as well as generally looking a bit ominous.

“How valuable are the things you have in your infinite space of yours anyway?” She asked as we walked down the underground, this is like an illegal section of the city to be honest.

“I mean a dagger I gave to a girl in the academy this morning worth at least a small house” I casually pointed it out. It’s more of an ornamental weapon honestly, fancy and well crafted but I don’t see it having much value practically, at least relative to everything else she crafted including my own unorthodox weapons. Floria just face palmed like I’m doing something stupid, even though it really doesn’t hold much value to me.

“What else do you have? Please tell me it's worth at least as much” She muttered deadpanned. I have a bunch of treasures so I’m not worried in the slightest. I do have some weapons, those from Echidna and those I killed. I don’t think I’ll part with any of it just yet, maybe if it’s another ornamental weapon...

“Well there’s this sword right here” I said bringing up a beautiful sword made of gold and crystals. It's actually a copy of a blade from a peculiar demon, the original is a weapon made from dark stones and other dark objects, while this copy made by Echidna is anything but dark, she handed a copy of this version to me for free because she can just make another easily. The handle looks like wings and the golden blade there inscribes in ancient German language the name of the creator. The middle of the blade has a giant blue crystal embedded into it while the handle is also almost all gold. It’s gold on top of gold, and gold is very much not a strong material, even if it’s reinforced gold… I know Echidna probably would preferred me calling her-

“W-What the heck is this thing?” Floria’s jaw I swear was about to literally drop before began speaking looking absolutely dumbstruck, while I was thinking of something not relevant to the situation again.

“A sword” I said with no hesitation in my voice, and the woman asking me is mentally face palming it seems.

“I can see that” She replied, sounding a bit frustrated.

“Yeah yeah I get you, it’s an ornamental weapon that should be much more valuable than a random dagger” I commented, not wanting to be too casual and tactless to the point of actually frustrating her.

“I can see that, I just hope the people dealing with this can actually pay even a little of its worth” She commented as she kept moving and I continued to follow her.

We both eventually walked to one door at the end of the hall while I already concealed that golden sword.

*Knock* *Knock*

Floria knocked on the door while the atmosphere seemed to become darker…

*Open*

The door opened and inside are a few sketchy people and guards, this is like a scene for a crime syndicate and very much not of a rowdy adventurer guild.

“It’s you again Miss Floria. Haven’t been here a while as far as I’m aware, also made a friend I see, you both may take a seat” The voice is affable in a creepy way, no clear movement or words that are inherently malicious just yet. The man has a few guards and other people about.

We both take a seat and so far no sign of danger just yet with the man sitting on the other end of the table.

“So you’re the one dealing with fortune from adventuring isn’t that right?” I asked just to be certain.

“Indeed, and who are you? You’re certainly a new face around here” He replied and commented.

“Indeed I am. Anyhow since you buy anything from the looks of it I hope I’ll gain a fortune here” I said with a small smile on me.

“You sure are confident of yourself. And what is this item anyway?” He asked, sounding curious and a bit skeptical. I turn to look at Floria who simply nodded.

*Gleam*

As if to turn the room white from its beauty, the sword showed itself and everyone except Floria is blown away by its craftsmanship. Everyone involved is immediately speechless at the sight.

“I’d reckon this'll be worth…” I started saying then glance in Floria’s direction, realizing that I don’t quite get the monetary system of this world just yet.

“At least a few mythril coins” She boldly stated. Everyone is still recovering from the sudden appearance of such an obviously valuable item.

“A few mythril coins…” The man said hoarsely and clearly surprised by the extremely valuable item appearing out of nowhere.

“Such a bold claim” Someone else commented as I held the sword tight with a confident look on me.

*Swing*

I take a swing after standing up, which causes a few people to panic, probably because of the possibility of using it lowering its value, however this thing has regenerative property on it so I’m not worried at all.

“This thing works as a weapon as much as a treasure, I think it’s worth at least that much” I said confidently before sitting down again. Putting the sword on the table, and a few clearly wanting to snatch it away.

“Oh, by the way if any of you even dared to steal it I’ll chop off all your limbs” I nonchalantly said, some clearly know better while others are uncertain as to the validity of the claim, still no one try anything so that’s good.

“Miss, even if we really want to buy it off your hand, and make no mistake we really do, I’m not confident that we can found anyone who would purchase it off our hand after that” He said, an expected outcome really, but I do not care for his cause so that’s not a problem I want to deal with.

*Stomp*

“Just give it to the royal family as a gift or something, otherwise I’ll call it off” I said to them with a very threatening glare. Stomping the ground and causing the floor to crack slightly. Everyone is terrified except for Floria who even then is sweating a little bit.

Everyone stared at me with either fear or some level of aggression, and those that do immediately backed off after seeing me glaring at them for just a second. At this point I just want this to be over with.

“Five… four… three…”

*Sizz*

Flames appeared in my hands as I stood up. Now people are really panicking and some are raising their weapons.

“Two… one…”

*Shine*

The flames became stronger, now even those brave enough to try to stop me cowers.

“Okay! Okay! We’ll accept the deal… How many mythril coins is it?” The one in charge immediately shouted when it seemed like I’ll actually torch the whole room, I immediately dispelled my magic and looked at him satisfied, then at Floria for her to make the choice.

“Five mythril coins” She said, sounding a bit off at part, perhaps due to me making the deal go so well.

“...Fine, please wait a few moments, you two go get the money necessary!” He replied feeling slight relief if clearly pressuring his goons to go get the money.

“If they don’t give as needed you know what’ll happen right?” I said a bit jokingly, which doesn’t look like anyone appreciated.

…Soon the goons came back with the money. Which they immediately give to the boss.

“Here…” He said soon after giving it to Floria, the bag with the amount of money she demanded, she looked inside the bag and saw the satisfactory amount of coins.

“Thank you” She said as she stood up, the sword still there on the table. Ah…

“Actually that sword is extremely heavy, please don’t let anyone without the proper power and constitution to- Oh...” I tried to explain then someone tried to lift it to no avail before I could finish my explanation.

Floria and I observed the miserable attempts for a while before walking out, getting what we needed for today.

#####

“You are certainly ruthless in that situation” She commented as she observed the five beautiful coins.

“Well, if it’s for you then I don’t see the problem” I said with a small smile which made her flinch for a bit, looking at me with a surprised reaction, and slightly red face as well… I hope I’m not just imagining things.

“Are you… serious about that?” She asked pausing a bit before actually saying the whole thing out.

“Yeah, why wouldn’t I be?” I replied feeling a bit unsure about both of us, what is her opinion on me and if I’m being flirty or whatever, I know I attract people sometimes but I’d rather their affection be more than skin deep, and I’m not sure if hers is or not, if even at all.

“...Thanks” She replied, unable to come with more words. That’s two who seem taken up with me, and that in itself sounds troubling for multiple reasons… Let’s not think about this and onto something else

“Anyway, you don’t have anything to do today right?” I changed the subject and asked.

“Yeah, why?” She replied curious as to why I asked so.

“I have something I need to do this afternoon, it’s a concerning issue and I wonder if you could come along” I answered her honestly.

“I don’t see why I can’t” She replied, that’s a hopeful answer but not definitive.

“Really? Will you come with me?” I asked, sounding a bit happy, she looked at me as I said so.

“Of course” She replied, I could’ve sworn there was a small smile on her just then.
