That day he didn't go hunting and immediately brought the injured monkey back to his house so he could get a better look at its wounded arm. He placed the monkey in the couch of the living room and then started to examine it.

"Interesting! So there are humanoid lifeforms in this planet and a monkey to boot."

The monkey was about 1.8 meters tall with dark brown hair and a slim built that looked more human than anything else. Each hand had five fingers but the legs had four toes. Its face was the only place that wasn’t covered with furb and it resembled a human so closely that you could say he was just a hairy human with a tail.

Its left arm seemed to have been cut open by some sharp weapon leaving behind a gruesome wound that leaked blood constantly, but this was not all. It seemed to also have multiple scratches all over its body, some old ones that had already healed, but also new ones that were still healing.

Nick boiled some water to sterilize it, waited until It cooled to about room temperature, and then started to clean its wounds carefully with a clean cloth. The wound was in bad shape, but after he started cleaning it he truly understood how bad it truly was.

The cut was so deep that it looked like it had almost reached the bone. It was filled with dirt and layers upon layers of dried of blood. Nick did his best to clean the wound as thoroughly as he could and then started to bandage it with some of his father’s undershirt that he had cut into strips after having disinfected the wound with  some high proof alcohol his dad had hidden in his room.

After that he also thoroughly cleaned its other small wounds before covering him with a blanket and waited for it to get up.

...

Three days passed in a flash.

During these three days Nick cared after the wounded monkey riouguresely, staying by its side, cleaning its wound, and feeding   it small amounts of food he crushed before giving it to him. The wound seemed to recover fairy quickly given the severity of it giving him hope that the monkey would wake up any day now.

.....

Jack opened his now useless fridge to look for something to eat and frowned. In front of him weren't the usual processed goodies he was used to , but just big chunks of rotting bloody meat.

" Shit!

I don't have anymore fruits and all that's left is some rotten meat. This could be a problem."

Jack was concerned that while he was away the monkey would escape and he would lose the opportunity to learn anything about where he eas, but he didn't have a choice. He quickly packed his gear, took the spear and headed out to hunt.

During the way to the river he encountered some deer grazing the grass slowly at their leisure without a care in the world so he decided that today he would not go hunting to the river but just kill one of the deer instead.

“It will definitely last me at least three days, even if I indulge myself.”

I took a javelin from my back and simply threw it.

"Haht...

It hit one of the deers  right in the neck almost killing it instantly. He then finished it of with a swift stab to the eye ending its suffering before picking it up and returning back home.

.....

Jack left the deer carcass at the front door and went to the kitchen so he could get his cleaver, but he stopped in his track. As he was checking to see if the monkey was alright he was surprised.

' It moved...

He noticed that the monkey was no longer laying on the couch, but on the floor trying to crawl itself towards  the kitchen.

When it heard noise coming from behind it slowly turned its head to only meet eyes with Nick .

The eyes were a deep dark colour exactly like a humans with the exception of faint gold colour that was deeply buried in its iris. The eyes held intelligence in them and not intelligence like that of a dolphin or a crow, but human level intelligence.

"Grraaa grass...

It backed itself into a corner, and started growling seemingly afraid , but it's attempts to scare Jack were but feeble in nature they had their desired effect . Seeing it look at him in a hostile way Nick didn't approach it recklessly trying not to make it even more afraid and instead handed it a fruit that it had cached its eye on the kitchen. The fruits was a small piece of the last fruit Nick had eaten.

' It's hungry...

He understood what the monkey wanted and slowly pushed the fruit over before backing off. After growling at Nick some more it took the fruit cautiously, observed it for a second and then ate it in big bites. It looked like it was still hungry even after eating the fruit so Nick offered it another one he had found along the way

......

After having its fill it just became quiet  and stared at Nick in the eye. It just stared for about three minutes before it suddenly opened its mouth and said something.

“ Jua.”

“What?”

He was taken aback by the sudden words that came from the monkey’s mouth, but was also very happy.

“What did you just say right now? Repeat it again.”

The monkey looked at him in surprise seemingly not understanding what he just said to it and repeated the word.

“Jua?”

It repeated the same word as before, but Nick still couldn’t understand it. It was speaking a language unknown to him.

After trying again and again to communicate, even by making hand sings trying to convey something he still got nothing. Neither he nor the monkey could understand what the other was saying.

After ten more frustrating minutes the monkey again repeated the same word but this time it also pointed to its mouth and then throat.

“Jua?”

He still didn't understand what the word meant, but he understood got what it was trying to convey. It was thirsty and wanted something to drink.

As soon as that realization came to him, he bolted right up and went to the kitchen to find a bottle of water which after unscrewing the bottle cap he  handed it slowly to the thirsty monkey.

The monkey looked at the transparent plastic  bottle with curiosity until he showed at him  how to drink from it.

*Gulp*  *Gulp*

After drinking its fill it put the bottle down and reverted back to staring at Nick.

.....

 More time passed.

The monkey stared at Nick and je stared at him , booth without saying a word, until It  raised its hand  towards Nick beckoning me to touch it.

' Does it want me to give him a hang to get up?'

He looked at the stretched out hand and cautiously touched it and when he did  before him papered a notification.

He was taken aback, because he hadn’t willed the interface to appear, but there it was in front of him
