"So about you following Mina. Is this a common thing?"
My question only raised the eyebrows of the quintuplets who were munching on a cookie, each one differently.
It was really something else to see how much they differ from each other, however, their reaction time was top notch as they all looked at me at the same time.
"It's common indeed. Every student at Tsurugi Academy knows that each sin has his own set of followers."
"Their numbers vary depending on the sin's preference, but you could think of them as a large number of right-hand men and women"
They were totally in sync. So much that they continued each other's sentences.
{Being a sin must be amazing} I felt a strong admiration about Mina now.

My reaction mustn't have been any different than any normal student's and I think that was starting to show as the Caramel bunch was staring at me with a perplexed look.
Like there was something on my face or something.
In the deep silence, I could not help but look at all the different hair colors around me.
They were the following. For the girls: Red, Pink, Green.
For the guys: Blue, Magenta.
"Hahahaha"
"What's up with you? Laughing suddenly like that?" Asked the Pink haired girl whose face looked like a squirrel's as her cheeks were puffed. She seemed embarrassed which was rather cute.
"Ran is rude" Mina also pouted after placing more cookies on the table.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry" My behavior might seem weird but I couldn't contain myself. Laughing upon realizing, there wasn't any Caramel color among the people who formed the brotherhood of Caramel.
"It's about how nothing on us screams caramel, isn't it? I knew we should've gone with the brotherhood of rainbow, Jun! You just didn't like the ring to it"
"Don't mind me, It was my bad for laughing at you umm..."
"Oh about our names? I'm sorry we should introduce ourselves.
From oldest to youngest, we're called: Juniper, Polly, Tallo, Maxie, and Carol"
Said the redhead as she introduced them in red, green, magenta, blue, pink order.
As she introduced them they each stroke a pose which made me laugh even harder.
They looked like a real-life version of the mighty rangers.
"Ran should join " Mina seemed to try to recruit me as she handed me a cookie.
"You should at least consider it. Lady Mina is the head of the cooking club and she can be really stubborn to make someone join. She also was the one who prepared the buffet at the entrance ceremony, all by herself"
Mina was really amazing for preparing such a thing by herself.
With her small body, someone would think people would make fun of her not being fit to be a swordsman but that was clearly not the case.
She was clearly as passionate about cooking as she was about swordsmanship.
She's one of the seven deadly sins after all.

"Alright then, that sounds like a plan" I was hyped.
I love eating, and having Mina teach me, means that I'll also be able to learn from the best.
Killing two birds with one stone.
"One question: Will I be allowed to train here? If it's not much trouble that is"
"Do as you please, I don't think the other members will mind it. Some are just as serious about becoming strong swordsmen you see"
Polly replied with a cheerful attitude.
Her statement piqued my curiosity. It was true that the brotherhood of caramel wasn't the original members of this club. Which means there are other people that share the same passion for eating as me. But it also meant that there are other's who were chosen by Mina to attend this club room.

For a brief moment, I fell into a deep slumber of thinking process.
However, my focus broke and my tension shattered by the alarming noise of the school bell.
The time was finally here. I was finally going to learn about my nature.
About what kind of swordsman would I strive to become.
I thought about it before and came to the conclusion that in the end, it's about speed.
If I could be fast enough so I can defeat my opponents without them being able to react.
Then maybe even someone weak like me would be allowed to become a great swordsman and be respected by many.
Just like I've always dreamed.

Arriving at the classroom I found no one. It seems that was the wrong place to be right now and no one told me where to go.
And as I turned around I found myself looking at Tifa who was out of breath.
"F-Finally... I'm... Free..." Not all of us had a pleasant encounter it seems.
Holding her legs trying to catch her breath. She looked as if she was trying to escape from an angry mob.
I was about to comfort her when I noticed Tada hiding behind the door.
"F-Finally... She lost me..."
Seriously what happened while I wasn't around.
"What's happened you two? You look like a mess"
"Rant thank god you're here!! I must hide from that slave of mine"
"What are you-"
"She's crazy!! I don't know what happened to her but she tried to help me and for some reason, everything she creates explodes!!"
That was something I didn't expect to hear. A situation even Tada can't handle.
As for Tifa, she was just repeating the word freedom over and over again while breathing heavily.

"Stop overreacting you two. Let's go... We have... A class... To attend to... NGHHHH"
The only thing left for me to do at this point was to try to get them off the wall.
"Nooo!! Leave us be!!"
{God they're acting like kids} As I was thinking what to do a person came to my rescue.
A miraculous and holy being named Chiaki Sakurabe.
"Master Tada are you here" My savior had come to my rescue.
But a glimpse of the situation was enough to make her want to ditch me.
"Don't you dare!!" With a quick step, I grabbed her by the collar and forced her to help me.
Tada was her master after all it's half her responsibility.
"Seriously that's just sad" She was able to get them off after all.
With a quick move, she pushed her umbrella between the wall and them and shook them off like flipping pancakes.

"Damn it Chiaki why do you have to be so awesome..." Complained the master who was looking around cautiously to not spot any wild slaves around.
In the end, thanks to the super maid force we arrived at the right place.
the auditorium was filled with students. Each one waiting in one of the three lines that were formed for easier accessibility.
In front of each line, there was a machine. The students were supposed to put their wooden sword in it for it to be named.
"Alright everyone listen up. Now that every first year is here we can start the naming process. This is where you each will unlock the nature inside you. Every ability or secret art has a source. An attribute that is unique to each person. That attribute is what swordsmen call a nature. An explanation as to what a naming process is: Each human life is created by three aspects. A soul, a heart, and a mind. And thus each person who is about to name their respective blade has three different potential natures in them. However, only one of them will be unlocked so please choose wisely the one you think suits you the best."
With a quick rhythmical step, Headmaster Tsurugi walked forward passing all the students and stopping right next to one of the high tech machines the academy was provided that was located in the front of each line.
"By placing the blade in this machine you will be shown your potential natures so whoever is ready and has made their choice, please step forward, after you've chosen please think of a name and this machine will carve it into the blade for you. Simple as that"

And just like that many students started thinking.
Choosing a nature is certainly a hard task so it's natural for people to be indecisive.
But as the line shortened more and more people were getting excited.
Me included.
Sound, color, paper, dust, vision.
Those were just some natures that were chosen.
Hiiro chose the nature of addition with his claymore named Varia, Disc chose the one of Direction but didn't name any sword since he is an informant and Lisa chose the nature of rubber with her saber named Sabear. Based on the gummy bears as she claimed.
There were also those like Akira and Mary that already had a nature for some reason so they decided to go last just for the sake of naming.
And it was finally time for Tada to go who walked to the machine.
A single moment passed before he was done.
"That was a tough one"
"What did you chose Tada? Knowing you it should be something really over the top"
"My choices were line, order, and wind which I ended up choosing."
"How come? I honestly believed that you would choose something overpowered just to show off"
"Life isn't all about what's stronger Rant. Everything is useful, you just have to figure out the right way to use it" In response, Tada sighed in disappointment.

"As for why it's just that, the element of wind made me think of Little Green, a wind dragon. I don't think our meeting was just a coincidence and I don't have any regret my decision whatsoever"
Little Green huh? That dragon was sure something else.
It behaved more like a dog rather than a ferocious beast.
"What about you Tifa? Won't you go receive your awesome ability?"
Unlike all of us, Tifa wasn't excited at all.
"I-I already have one..." This was odd.
From what she was saying, Tifa already had a nature.
She never showed it before and she refused to tell me no matter how much I tried to convince her to spill the beans.
So I decided to not push her to tell me anymore. From her expression, I could tell she must have a good reason to do so.

Then it was finally my turn.
Soon I too would be able to use such a cool ability like I always wanted.
I was curious to see what kind of nature the little me had in him.
What was the source of my potential?
All these awesome natures made my blood boil.
I was pumped up. And so I as well step forward.
"Watch me as I get an ability that's even more amazing"
However, upon placing my sword into the slit the machine had the unexpected happened.
The machine started overheating. Thick smoke emerged from it as some sparks jumped off my sword and entered my body.
Being electrocuted was painful as a crimson ray of lightning filled my body and a small portion of the area around it.
I couldn't feel my body anymore.
The only thing on my mind now was the strong sensation of observation and the smell of burned oil.
Like someone or something was behind me, observing my reactions inside the dead silence.
