Looking out the window, Tokito watches the trees swaying in the wind, as birds fly by... that is until he hears a slam on the desk in front of him. He looks away from the window to see his teacher, Mrs. Bridget, with her hand on the desk, giving him a scowl.

"Tokito where are your books?! How will you ever successfully finish school if you don't have any of your school work materials" Mrs. Bridget ask screaming in discontent.

"Mrs. Bridget, even if I had all my books and successfully finished school, what would be the point. I would only graduate to become a slave worker for society where I would have to wait tables, work at a convenient store, or worse for less than minimum wage...."

What's the point of doing all this school work when I won't be staying in the city all that much longer.

Mrs. Bridget says to me, " well Mr. Tokito you still need to pass your classes if you want to keep your scholarship, which means bringing your books to class. Listen, I know it's not easy now that your parents are no longer around, and that you may have difficulty keeping your stuff together. Plus with your aunt being absent from home all the time, may cause you to discard your daily necessities, but you need to understand the world keeps moving forward regardless of your situation. Now, I hope that you'll be able to get into a college of your choice or if not then at least a well paying job if college is not what you desire, blah blah blah."

Yeah, like I want to go to a college when even getting a masters wouldn't be any guarantee about obtaining a well paying job. Might as well go to loan sharks and get myself in a debt with them because I would never be able to pay that school loan off.

 Slam!

I jump and see that Mrs. Bridget had slammed her ruler against the desk.

"Have you listened to anything I said to you within the last 10 minutes!" Mrs. Bridget yells at me.

" Honestly, the last thing I heard was something about not needing to go to college......" I say to Mrs. Bridget.

Giving me another scowl, she sighs then says to get out of her office.

Finally I can go home.  Walking pass the door into the hallway, I hear a crash, then all becomes dark.
