“Chief, I mean, Shojin.”

“What’s wrong, my Lady?”

“I see a town in the distance.”

“Right. That’s great. We should stop by.”

“Mm, indeed.”

Right now, we’re basically role-playing.

Emily’s wearing a fancy set of leather armour.

It’s only tier 3, but it’s enhanced to the maximum.

Normally, Emily would be in her Forbidden tier bikini armour.

But right now, we’re not trying to stand out too much.

Though, Emily is playing the role of distraction right now.

Speaking of distraction, I’m having her take all the attention for me.

I might look like a noob now, but I’m secretly armed to the teeth.

Underneath this average-looking Explorer costume is my full set of Forbidden tier equipment, with all the accessories and trinkets. Every single item is enhanced, augmented and gemmed to the max.

Adding a few cash shop items, I can even solo an endgame World Boss.

This is basically my ultimate form, but I’m hiding it as my trump card.

I’m really glad I bought up all the cosmetic items in the game.

Now, I have an abundance of disguise items.

Speaking of which, I’m also carrying a backpack type costume item.

Before leaving my house, I stuffed it full of trash items.

Their only purpose as items is being sold to NPC’s for gold.

Yep, we’re playing the “Ojou-sama and Servant” game right now.

Emily’s pretty, so she’ll attract all the attention.

Meanwhile, I’ll effectively gather information from the shadow.

“My Lady, this whole region is completely different from our hometown.”

“You’re right. There isn’t even a little resemblance.”

So, the world map is completely different from the game.

It’s not a problem, since I have the EX skill “World Map.”

But it’s still surprising to see how much the world of RoF has changed.

I’m sure the game on Earth hasn’t changed, but this is different.

In my case, it isn’t a game anymore, it’s now reality.

That’s why skills like “World Map” are extremely useful.

I had to find all 150 map items in the game to acquire this skill.

Sometimes it was hidden in an annoying place, but it was worth it.

The town ahead of us naturally is unfamiliar as well.

We’re going there to learn more about this world and its power level.

The role-play requires us to walk there by foot, so it’s taking a while.

By the time we get to the town, it’s already almost dusk.

“...”

“Shojin?”

“No, it’s nothing my Lady must worry about.”

I’m simply admiring the beauty of nature.

The blazing red, seting Sun at the mountainous horizon...

The gradient from bright red to deep blue of the sky...

Everything’s breathtaking.

Not that the game’s graphics weren’t already revolutionizing.

But this is the huge gap between virtuality and reality.

Technology of my era isn’t capable of bridging that gap yet.

I believe they soon will be, however.

I’m not quite sure if it’ll be a good thing.

People lose themselves easily over things like that.

I bet, things like “man hasn’t come back from the virtual world for 30 years sees the world for the first time in his life” will headline everywhere. The media love that sort of catch.

Well, in the end, I’m in no place to preach anything.

I’m also part of the problem.

You see, I’m so addicted to the virtual world that I end up here.

The god in that temple probably got irritated and sent me away.

In front of the town’s gate, there’s a line of people.

It’s not particularly long, and it moves relatively fast.

We’re at the end of the line, so Emily hasn’t drawn attention yet.

So, I anticipate the piercing gazes I’ll get once we’re inside.

The entrance inspection consists simply of one procedure.

They check our faces and manaprints for criminal records.

Naturally, we aren’t wanted anywhere in this world, so we pass.

And it’s begun; Emily’s already mesmerized the guards.

I don’t blame them.

In reality, I went as far as using a mod to fine tune her looks.

The mod was approved by the devs themselves; it was that good.

Of course, Kyoka’s character model also received the same kind of love.

Basically, both of them were hand-sculpted to be flawless beauties.

As soon as we enter the town, a lot of eyes are immediately on us.

Well, not much me, since I look like a scrub at the moment.

In people’s eyes, I’m just a servant carrying his gorgeous Lady’s belongings.

Good, good. This is working out quite well.

No-one’s paying any attention to what I do or look at.

I use telepathy between Owner and NPC to talk to Emily.

(How does it feel to be in the spotlight, my Lady?)

(It’s...really annoying. They’re ogling me all over...)

(I’m sorry, I’m also part of the problem, haha...)

(Eh? You mean...)

(I’ve been staring at your entire lower half this whole time.)

(...That’s unfair, Chief.)

(Haha, you think?)

(Yeah. If you make me happy now, it’ll show weirdly on my face.)

(You are that kinda’ person, huh...)

(I-I can’t help it if it’s you, Chief!)

(Kukuku, you can fawn over me more. I love it.)

(Hehe, even if you don’t tell me...)

(That’s great. But I need to focus on my task right now. If you act too cute I’ll be the one distracted instead of those people around me. That’ll be troubling, so let’s proceed as planned.)

(C-Cute...)

I stop the connection there to begin gathering information.

With Greater Status Analysis, another EX skill of mine, I have no trouble looking at the Statuses of people around me. This much is expected, since pretty much all of them are commoners.

There are also some walking around with the title Adventurer.

However, their Statuses are subpar: around level 20 and Tier 8 gear.

In the game, Tier 1 is considered the start of endgame.

Above that, there are Ancient, Mythical, Legendary, and Forbidden.

Even new players work through the tier list quite quickly.

Well, that’s only up until Tier 3, though...

Tier 3 is where they draw the line between casual and devoted players.

When I looked at Emily again, she’s having a friendly chat with someone.

It’s an adventurer, a female adventurer.

Level 30 and Tier 6 equipment. A clear cut above the mobs, huh...

“Shojin, we’re heading to the Guild Association.”

“Yes, my Lady.”

“This kind person is willing to show us the way there.”

“R-Right. I apologize. Thank you for helping us.”

I panic and bow in a flustered manner toward the other girl.

...or so the act goes.

She’s cute, but nowhere near as pretty as Emily and Kyoka.

I do want to check out her body, but she’s wearing armour.

Anyhow, I’m rocking this noob role really well.

I don’t know if I should be happy or despair.

Maybe I’m not role-playing shit, and my loser nature’s just showing.

To begin with, that’s the reason I love the virtual world so much.

No use whining right now; I’ll just roll with it!

“Er, no need to be like that. I’m no nobility...”

The female adventurer doesn’t seem accustomed to formality.

It’s just as expected, bu I don’t mean it in a bad way.

As we walk to the Guild Association, Emily talks to the girl some more.

She also broadcasts the conversation through telepathy.

I can clearly hear what the woman says to Emily.

See, this wouldn’t have gone so well if I was the one asking.

Emily’s pretty face and graceful demeanor are key to all this.

If it was me, that woman and I would’ve squared up by now.

Not that I’m proud of it...
