"Finally made it up here," Bao Dalong grumbled as he plopped down, "If I'd known, I wouldn't have come with you. It's pure torture."

"Since we're here, let's not say discouraging things. Why not enjoy the beautiful scenery?" Jiang Feng, in contrast to Bao Dalong, was much more cheerful, spreading his arms to feel the mountain breeze, thoroughly enjoying himself.

Since they were here, they might as well make the most of it. Who knew when they'd get another chance to see such sights?

Yao Yaoling stood on Jiang Feng's shoulder, waving his arms and shouting excitedly, "What a beautiful place! If only there were a gorgeous woman here, I'd lie under the vast sky with her, the heavens as our blanket and the earth as our bed."

"Have some class, will you? Always thinking about women. Haven't you earth spirits ever seen a woman before?" Bao Dalong retorted irritably.

Ever since they met, the two of them had been bickering non-stop, as if they had endless topics to argue about, never getting tired of it.

"You don't understand. It's a sentiment, my life's goal. If I'm alive, I should enjoy beauties; otherwise, what's the point?" Yao Yaoling declared.

"Oh, how I wish I could have all the beauties in the world for my fleeting pleasure!"

"There are so many beauties in the world, I only need a thousand."

Yao Yaoling was full of spirit, expressing his sentiments freely.

Jiang Feng almost choked at Yao Yaoling's grand ambition. A thousand? Did he think he was some kind of breeding pig?

"Up ahead is the Heavenly Pool. Let's head over there," Tai, the tall one, pointed ahead while gnawing on a piece of roasted meat, savoring it.

Ever since he tasted roasted bird, he had been pestering Jiang Feng to roast more for him. When they couldn't catch birds, they'd switch to something else, but there was always something to eat.

Not long ago, Jiang Feng had given him a wild boar, and he had devoured all four legs by himself, still with a pig bristle stuck at the corner of his mouth.

Jiang Feng looked in the direction Tai pointed, at a high protruding area, which was where the Heavenly Pool was located.

And beneath the Heavenly Pool was the volcanic crater Jiang Feng was seeking.

"Hope this trip isn't in vain and that we find something," Jiang Feng prayed silently.

As they moved forward, standing by the Heavenly Pool, the view changed again. Standing there, they felt a sense of urgency and danger.

A strange tension gripped their hearts, as if a black mist was shrouding them.

The so-called Heavenly Pool was a lake atop a mountain, originally a volcanic crater that had filled with water over the years, forming the famous Heavenly Pool.

Legend had it that a water monster lived inside, but no one had ever truly seen it.

Whether there were any living creatures inside was still unknown.

Around the Heavenly Pool, most of the rocks were igneous, formed from cooled volcanic magma.

"This is the Heavenly Pool. Beneath the water is a volcanic crater filled with hot magma that can easily melt rocks. Anything that falls in won't come out alive."

"Are you really planning to go down there?"

Tai looked at Jiang Feng and asked.

"Yes, I came here to take a look. Otherwise, it would be a wasted trip," Jiang Feng replied.

"Wait, I never said I'd go down with you. I'll wait up here. You go down yourself," Bao Dalong retreated.

"Heh, fine, wait up here. If I don't come back, don't expect to get your fare," Jiang Feng teased.

"You're forcing me," Bao Dalong's face turned red.

"I'm not forcing you. It's entirely up to you," Jiang Feng said.

Bao Dalong was conflicted, his face twisting like dough.

"Fine, I give up. I'll go down with you," Bao Dalong finally conceded.

"That's the spirit. We came together, so we go down together. That's what good partners do," Jiang Feng said.

"I think Jiang Feng is right. You should go down. We're all partners," Tai added.

"Why don't you go down?" Bao Dalong shouted.

"I have things to do. My tribe has been calling me back. If I don't go, they'll think something happened to me," Tai said sincerely, making it hard to tell if he was being truthful.

"You..." Bao Dalong was left speechless.

"Sigh, I just want to know, isn't there magma down there? Won't we be burned to ashes if we go down recklessly?" Bao Dalong sighed.

"Don't worry about that. Many years ago, one of my tribe members went down to explore and found a hidden cave near the volcanic crater. Through the cave, you can enter a large space inside. There's a magma pool there, and when the volcano erupts, the magma pool becomes restless, as if a force is pushing the magma up, causing the eruption," Tai explained.

Jiang Feng was delighted to hear this. "Is what your tribe member said true?"

"Absolutely. We apes never lie. That tribe member even brought back a glowing crystal from inside, which is still enshrined in our tribe," Tai said.

"That's great. I was worried about how to get down there. Now, with this information, everything's solved," Jiang Feng said happily.

"Good luck. I have to go now. I hope to see you again because I want more roasted meat," Tai said.

"No problem. Next time we meet, I'll roast a whole bunch for you," Jiang Feng promised.

Tai stuffed the last piece of roasted meat into his mouth, grabbed a vine on the cliff, and jumped down.

"Wow, see you, my friend..." Tai, agile as a monkey, leapt and flipped along the cliff, quickly disappearing from sight.

...

"Let's go down," Jiang Feng said.

With a splash, Jiang Feng jumped into the Heavenly Pool. The water was cold, sending a shiver through him, but he quickly adapted, feeling a tingling sensation all over.

Bao Dalong hesitated for a moment but followed suit, shouting as he jumped, "Oh my, what a master I've met, such bad luck!"

After jumping into the Heavenly Pool, Jiang Feng swam towards the place Tai had mentioned and indeed found a very hidden black hole.

Without guidance, it would have been hard to find this entrance.

The cave looked pitch black, only allowing one person to pass at a time. Who knew what dangers lay inside, as Tai didn't provide detailed information.

Having come this far, Jiang Feng wouldn't back down. He had to go in and see for himself.

Jiang Feng turned to look behind him; Bao Dalong had followed and gestured to him, to which Bao Dalong responded.

Jiang Feng then swam into the cave, immediately enveloped in darkness, unable to see anything, groping his way forward, unaware of any potential dangers.

Suddenly, Jiang Feng felt something grab his foot tightly.

Startled, Jiang Feng thought it might be the water monster.

He kicked his legs frantically, but the grip on his ankle remained firm.

Oh no, this was bad.

Jiang Feng desperately swam forward, hoping to quickly exit the black hole and enter the mysterious space Tai had mentioned.

He swam and swam, his arms nearly giving out.

Finally, a light appeared ahead, and he felt himself drop, as if falling from above.

Thud!

He hit the ground hard, feeling dizzy and seeing stars.

"Ouch," Jiang Feng wiped the water from his face and looked at his foot to see what had grabbed him, nearly giving him a heart attack.

To his surprise, he saw a rotund Bao Dalong.

What was going on?

Jiang Feng was puzzled.

But when he saw Bao Dalong's bruised and swollen face, he understood.

It turned out Bao Dalong had been grabbing his foot, and in his frantic kicking, Jiang Feng had kicked Bao Dalong's face repeatedly.

Bao Dalong was rolling on the ground, still holding on, complaining, "What were you doing? Why kick me? Trying to kill me? Oh, my face."

Jiang Feng was embarrassed, not knowing what to say, so he apologized, "Is your face okay? Does it hurt?"

"Does it hurt? Why don't you let me kick your face a few times and see?" Bao Dalong grumbled, rubbing his face.

"Sorry about that. It's not entirely my fault. Why were you grabbing my foot? I thought it was the water monster," Jiang Feng laughed.

"It went dark suddenly, and I got scared, so I grabbed your foot. And now you're blaming me," Bao Dalong said, still upset.

"This time it's my fault. I'll make it up to you. I'll treat you to a big meal," Jiang Feng offered.

"Alright, I forgive you," Bao Dalong jumped up, no longer complaining about his face, looking full of energy.

Jiang Feng was surprised. Just a meal, and he was satisfied. What an easygoing guy.

Facing Jiang Feng's incredulous look, Bao Dalong pretended to examine the surroundings nonchalantly, "Hey, this must be the space Tai mentioned."

Jiang Feng stood up, supporting his waist, and saw they were in a huge space filled with rocks, glowing red as if they were at the edge of a sunset.

"Do you feel how hot it is here?" Jiang Feng asked.

"I feel it, not just hot, it's scorching. Look, I'm sweating buckets," Bao Dalong said, wiping sweat from his brow.

Jiang Feng saw Bao Dalong was indeed drenched in sweat, thinking he was exaggerating.

Jiang Feng wiped his face, sweat pouring down, blurring his vision.

"Damn, it's really hot," Jiang Feng said, "Looks like we're inside the volcano, not far from the magma pool."

"Not far at all, it's right there," Bao Dalong pointed.

Not far from them was a massive magma pool, the magma bubbling and releasing wisps of white smoke as bubbles burst.

The intense heat emanated from there, the surrounding rocks scorched white, full of tiny holes, looking like they'd crumble at a touch.

Jiang Feng was thrilled. Such an environment was perfect for nurturing spirit fire, and he eagerly moved forward.

"It's too hot here. Don't get too close, or your skin will burn," Yao Yaoling warned from Jiang Feng's shoulder.

Sizzle!

Jiang Feng had only taken a few steps when a strand of his hair ignited, startling him into stopping.

"Why didn't you say so earlier?" Jiang Feng complained.

"I was about to, but you rushed ahead," Yao Yaoling rolled his eyes.
