*Annabell's POV

The velvet bathrobe was one of very few expensive little pleasures that I pampered myself with. We were always far from struggling with money, but I never felt the need to buy many things.

Jasper first wrapped a towel around my body and got rid of the plastic wrap from my arm and leg. After that, he helped me put the bathrobe on. I love wearing velvet. It's so smooth yet, unlike silk, it gives a warm feeling. Silk, I find too cold to feel comfortable in, most of the time. Then Jasper left me alone to finish evening hygiene.

"Jay, can you hand me the hairdryer, please? It's in the cabinet next to the door. Bottom shelf." I called softly when I was done. I was getting sleepy but I didn't want to go to bed with wet hair. It would quickly make me cold again. Unfortunately I found reaching down to the cabinet shelf rather difficult, making me curse my fractures again and ask for Jasper's help.

I heard Jasper come into the room and take the hairdryer out of the cabinet. However, he did not hand it to me. Instead, he took me in his arms and walked out of the bathroom. "What are you doing?" I asked him confused.

"Taking you to your room, my love." His voice was just like the velvet on my body. So smooth and warm. Too sleepy, I gave up inquiring further. Once in my room, he slowly set me down onto an ottoman by my bed. I could hear him plug the hairdryer in and he started drying my hair by gently tossing it in the flow of hot air.

"You didn't need to, I can do this myself." I commented slightly embarrassed.

"I know, angel. But I want to." Said Jasper simply.

"You're spoiling me too much." I complained under my breath. I was trying my best to include him in my recovery and was grateful for his help but this seemed a little unnecessary.

Sensing him lean down to me I couldn't deny the excitement of anticipation when he moved my hair back over my shoulder. His fingertips gently tickled my neck as he did so. "I haven't begun to spoil you yet, my sweet love." Pleasurable shiver ran down my spine as he quietly spoke so close to me that his lips brushed over sensitive skin on my ear. "Spoiling comes after you heal." He finished mysteriously and leaned away after placing a kiss to the soft spot behind my ear, sending another tingling shiver through my body.

Deeply inhaling but unable to form a coherent thought, I just exhaled again. Relaxing when he went on to dry my hair, I was enjoying the warmth and Jasper's hands seemingly playing with my hair.

*Jasper's POV

I loved her reactions to my teasing. Her response usually gave me a chance to take it further and I could admire the delicious pink as it adorned her cheeks while her heart raced. I'd like to think it beat only for me and I occasionally caught myself resenting the silence of my own heart.

Almost done drying Annabell's hair, I noticed her heartbeat and breathing slowing down when she suddenly started to fall. "Woah!" I caught her in my arms and she rested against me. "Ann?" I tried, worried.

"Mmmm..." Half asleep, she only hummed in reply.

"My angel..." I smiled to myself and gently picked her up. Laying my sleeping beauty in her bed and covering her with her warm, dark blue blanket, I rested beside her. Looking at Annabell's peaceful expression, I found her just as fascinating as the night I discovered her in the woods.

Annabell slept mostly calmly the whole night. Only once she got a little restless and I heard her mumble from her sleep. "My mate..." I found her hand to let her know I'm here. Lying on her side, she brought my hand to her face, smiled and kept on sleeping. Leaving me to wonder what kind of dream she's having.

"Hmmm... I gotta tell Catelyn to make pizza again." Murmured Annabell, munching on her cereals. "I wonder what she will bring today." She continued thoughtfully.

"Today?" I couldn't help being a little surprised. Since I didn't bother with school anymore while taking care of Annabell, I lost track of what day it was. And honestly I didn't really care either way.

"It's Saturday." Chuckled Annabell. "She'll bring me lunch for next week."
Not too happy that I'll meet that woman again, much less about the idea of her coming here every week, I thought about it for a moment. "How about I cook your lunch from now on?" The second these words left my mouth, Annabell choked on her food. "Hey!" I jumped out of my chair and patted her back carefully. "I was under the impression that you like my cooking." I commented uncertainly as her coughing calmed down.

"I do..." She tilted her head in wonder. "I don't remember much from that evening. Did something happen while Catelyn was here?" Asked Annabell, worried and perceptive as ever.

"Nothing happened." I reassured her, sitting across from her again. Technically it was true. "She was just concerned about leaving you alone with me." Annabell liked the woman and Catelyn obviously helped to take care of her after her mother died. But after actually meeting Catelyn personally, I didn't like her much.

Giggling, Annabell smiled at me."Yes, I know that. Hmmm... Alright. But are you sure you want to? You're doing so much for me already." Annabell's cheeks turned slightly pink.

"Anything you need, angel. I find cooking quite enjoyable. It's like a combination of alchemy and art." That made her giggle again.
"Are you certain you weren't a chef before?" Taking a hold of my hand, she smiled at me lovingly. "Thank you, I'll let her know when she comes."

*

After taking a walk with me around the house, Annabell rested on the couch in the living room, listening to music and she fell asleep. I went to check the woods surrounding the house for any sign of unwanted visitors.

Meeting with Peter before returning to Annabell, I could tell he didn't have any luck tracking the psycho either. "There was no trace of her getting out of the water anywhere nearby. The only place I found her scent was around the spot you hunted that night. She must have been watching you. Her scent was all around that place." He made a disgusted face. "Man, she's seriously obsessed with you." Worriedly glancing towards the house he asked. "How's Annie doing?"

"Her energy seems to be slowly returning." I replied with hope. One corner of Peter's mouth rose in a mysterious but knowing smile, yet he didn't comment on it. I frowned at him. "Spill."

"Nothing." He shrugged innocently. "She'll be alright." Peter gave me a pat on the shoulder, smiling widely now and left before I could get anything out of him. What the hell? But I felt grateful for the small reassurance.

Before walking back inside the house I could already hear a car coming. Seeing that Annabell was still asleep I sighed a little annoyed at the fact that I'll have to deal with Catelyn alone. I hoped Annabell would be awake by the time Catelyn comes. But she came earlier than I expected and I didn't want to wake Annabell up. Her body was healing and even if she didn't push it, as I hoped she didn't anymore, it seemed to take a lot of energy and she needed her rest.

Opening the door before the woman could knock, to make sure it wouldn't disturb Annabell, I was met with a wide eyed look on the blonde's face. Her surprised expression quickly turned into a pleased one when she looked me up and down. "Hello, ma'am." I greeted politely and moved out of the way for her to walk in.

"Well, hello Jasper." She attempted to say my name in a sweet voice, just to make herself sound weird. "I didn't expect you to be here again." She continued in the same tone, batting her fake eyelashes at me. I could tell she was lying. The only surprise for her was to see me open the door. Otherwise she was feeling smug, lust and curiosity. "Where's Annabell?" She asked, looking around.

"She's sleeping right now. So please, try to be quiet and fast about your visit." I replied just as her eyes landed on my mate, lying on the couch. For a second I thought that the happy feeling she got was from seeing that her friend's niece was fine. But then she looked at me smiling seductively, sliding her hand across my chest as she walked past me and into the kitchen.

"Okay." Hummed the blonde slightly, swaying her hips provocatively as she walked. She was wearing a colorful V neck dress with just as revealing cleavage as the blouse she had last time, if not more. Even though the dress had long sleeves, it had revealed back.

Her dress was also so short that I saw more of her than I ever wanted to, when she bent over while putting food in the refrigerator. On purpose reaching lower than she actually needed to, with her back to me. Annoyed, I followed her to the kitchen, hoping to speed the process and get her out as quickly as possible.

With the last container of food in its place, she tried to take a step closer to me, opening her mouth to say something when there came a knock on the door and her smile vanished. Swiftly walking to open the door I left Catelyn, irritated at the interruption, behind. "Hi Rose." I greeted my old friend, nearly hugging her, how grateful I was. Her visit was slightly surprising, but she couldn't have picked a better time to show up.

"Hey Jazz." She greeted me back, eyeing me a little suspiciously. "I came to see how Annabell is doing. Carlisle said she's coming for a check up on Wednesday. Oh, hello." Greeted Rosalie the woman who was curious and increasingly annoyed as she slowly came closer to the door. "Should I come later?" Asked Rose.

"No, come in. Catelyn was just leaving." I smiled politely, turning to look at the woman in question, hoping to not come off as rude. To not give her space to object or argue and prolong her stay.

Rosalie walked in and I waited for Catelyn to get out, to close the door behind her. She could hardly hide her anger and with gritting teeth finally walked out. "Have a good day." I parted with her and closing the door I let out a relieved sigh.

"What was that?" Asked Rose with an amused smirk, pretty much laughing at me.

"Errr... nothing." I shrugged it off. "Ann is-"

"Rosalie?" Annabell must have just woken up. Slowly sitting up on the couch she placed her phone with earbuds on the small table in front of her.

Immediately by her side I helped her into a comfortable sitting position. Her cheeks were a light shade of pink from her sleep and her hand, she placed on mine, was pleasantly warm. Peter was right, she was getting better. Happy, I kissed Annabell's temple. Slightly confused, she smiled at me. "Is it ok if I leave you two alone?" I asked her.

Rose was quite nervous and looked like she had a lot on her mind. They didn't talk since the day Edward attacked Annabell by the school and there happened so much afterwards. Annabell squeezed my hand, nodding and giving Rose a hesitant smile. "Call me if anything." I reminded her while reassuringly squeezing her hand and then I left them to talk.
