Hi! This is not a chapter! This is, again, a picture dump with the fanart of my characters. (And also a lot of happiness that my lineart is improving! If you're not interested in drawing technique talk, skip everything beneath the horizontal line and just look at the pics if you want to. Since it's only fanart, it's not mandatory for the story, of course).

Anyway, here are the last of my main characters in this story (and by main, I mean MAIN main. The rest that left are villains and side characters). Aomi and Kataji! I'll allow you to guess which is which ^^.

I know Kataji looks kind of anachronistic here. My RL friend said he looks like he's from a steampunk novel, which... okay, I can live with. It's those goggles and his working outfit that makes it seem so! Also his obsession with those edgelord straps everywhere. But this, I can do nothing about. Kataji is a bit of an edgelord, and I gave him those straps precisely to display this facet of his personality ^^. Aomi will appear in much more gothic outfits in the small pics along with text descriptions I'm making for the glossary with the entire main cast, so I'll inform you when it becomes live! ^^

Oh, and don't balk at the vast difference in quality between Aomi's picture and Kataji's. Aomi was drawn much earlier than Kataji -- before I discovered the joys of weighted line work and before my obsession with wet bristle brush. Aomi's picture features the brush only slightly (I was still afraid to use it since I was only learning), but Kataji's almost entirely colored with it. But the main quality difference is, of course, the weighted line. It's unbelievable how much it makes a difference!

(I'll hide the lineart drafts under the spoiler so I can boast the coolness factor of the weighted line on its own! ^^ I am so happy I discovered it. But unfortunately, Aomi was also filled with flat color in that first draft (I don't have only the lineart with her) -- so ignore it and just look at those fat, varying lines Kataji has! ^^).

THESE Spoiler Pics of my drawing process are only for those who don't mind seeing weird stuff! I am only learning to draw proprly, so it's kinda wonky in places ^^.

Spoiler

As you can see -- the simple difference in varying line weight is sooooo cool ^^.
