Chapter 1: [ A cliche plot of a deity killing a mortal gone wrong! ]

A beauty that was indescribable by the mouth of mortals. She was flawless and otherworldly beautiful. Every move and steps of her are a masterpiece and full of elegance. She was the guide. A dazzling and shimmering gem in the darkness. She was the light and hope for every lost souls in the underworld.

Her name is Mepthys, a recently promoted goddess of afterlife. As one of the deities in charge of life and death, her job entails the responsibility of watching over the life of the mortals, guiding the souls in the afterlife and being one of the responsible for the reincarnation process of every souls in her own underworld. 

“ Other than being a Goddess of Afterlife, I am also one of the running candidates for the Goddess of Beauty– it was natural for me to be one of the candidates since I am so very very very pretty. I am the light of the underworld! The dazzling gem and brilliant hope! ” Ahem, Ahem, said by a certain beautiful and 'humble' goddess that was just stating the fact.

Anyway, the life of deities isn't easy. 

“ It was like that i am being punish in hell from every moment for the difficulty of the job! ” Said by a certain goddess who was very hardworking and kind.

The life of deities held a lot of responsibilities.

" Why is there so many?! I am just a newbie goddess but I already have a lot of job and responsibilities. Who is the one responsible for the life of the mortals in this Earth?! " Said by a very patient and soft mannered goddess.

And the deities should do their job properly.

" Still, I need to do my job properly! I can't mess up on my job!! There's no time for me to complain! I'm a Goddess, I need to do my job that entails a life of no rest and no bliss.

I can't mess up on my job. " Said by the Goddess that was full of determination and one of the recently rising goddess in popularity.

" Waaaahhhh!!! Oh my God! I mess up on my Job!! What should I do?! Please don't let the Supreme Great One heard of this matter! I don't want to be demoted!! I also don't want to be punish!! "

The Supreme Great One who oversees all of the deities would employ a very severe punishment to the sinner.

" Umm... let's see... Where is it? Where is it? I can't really believe that I have mess up on my job! I have been a goddess of the afterlife for 50 years!! Where is that file? Ahh, why is my underworld is so messy? I can't even find that file!! "

Mepthys, a recently promoted goddess, was one of the clumsiest deity that have ever existed. Before she was even promoted and acknowledge by mortals somewhere in the many worlds, she was already acknowledge for her clumsiness and carelessness.

" Ahh, it's over...my job! Please supreme great one please forgive this lowly goddess for I have sinned greatly! I have committed a crime because of my carelessness! Ahh, i don't know what should I do? Is there a manual on what should I do if I  accidentally killed a Mortal? "

Mepthys mourned for her future as a goddess. Maybe she wouldn't be a goddess anymore in the future. She hastily look for the file in her heap of messy files and items in her underworld.

" Ahh...where is it..where is it.. "

Along on her searching, she found some things that she didn't need.

" Death Note? I have no need for it!! The Book of the Dead is better! Tch! What a rip off! Why did I even buy this from that cheapskate old man? "

As Mepthys complained, she suddenly feel that her underworld has turned colder and she can feel ghostly whispers from everywhere. She shivered and hastily look around.

" Ehhh... Ahh..No no, this isn't a rip off! This was obviously better than the book of the dead! This was a genuine product created by the handsome (ugh... I want to vomit! ) and glorious Shinigami King! "

Mepthys loudly muttered and she hoped that she didn't offended the Egyptian deities of the underworld with her insulting the book of the dead. She sighed in relief when she didn't feel anything. Mepthys continued on her searching on her massive pile of heap of 'trash'.

" Nope. "

" No. "

" This isn't it!! "

" I don't need this! "

" Hmmmm..."

On her searching, she found a book.

" I think I need this one! "

Mepthys decided to read it later after she found the file of the poor and unlucky mortal that she accidentally killed.

Later, she finally found the file that she was looking for.

" Yosh! I would prepare the summoning after reading the book!! "

His name is Noel Williams, an ordinary person in an ordinary world full of ordinary people. He was currently a 17 years old 2nd year high school student. He was a normal guy. Completely average. In school and in his social life. He was just a guy who happens to be fond of Anime, Manga and Light Novels. An Otaku who secretly have some impossible dreams that would never happen.

He was completely living his life in normalcy and boredom. Until one day, he died while he was in the bathtub. He was completely certain that he was a human and not a hobbit to drown in the bathtub that was full of warm water that have just reached below his shoulders. He wouldn't die even he unknowingly sleep on the bathtub!

Why is he in the white endless space now?

Noel's mind was full of doubts as he found himself in an unfamiliar place. He was confused and secretly scared. There was also a doubt in his mind that maybe he have ate something that he shouldn't eat.

Looking around, he heard loud steps echoing in the endless white floor. Noel's eyes widened as a silhouette of a woman appeared. Even he can't clearly see her face, just by looking at the smooth and flawless fair skin, he can determine that she was breathtakingly beautiful.

" Oh, poor mortal soul.... You who have lost your path. "

The woman's voice was sweet and pleasing to the ears. Noel thought as he felt that this scene is somehow familiar. It was just like those scenes in Isekai novels and mangas.

....Isekai?!?

Noel's eyes widened and he narrowed his eyes as he carefully look at the woman who was certainly beautiful even thought she was hiding her face behind the veil of her hat. She was currently busy on her self monologue that Noel didn't really care very much.

" Don't fret poor mortal soul, for I Mepthys the Goddess— Wait! Waaaahhhh! Wh- what are you doing?!? "

Mepthys shrieked as the mortal man who look confused and silent suddenly launched himself on her leg.

" Waahh! Let go of my leg! Let go of my leg! What are you doing?! "

Mepthys was so confused and embarrassed as the mortal man tightened his hold on her leg. It was obvious on his face that he have no intention to let go of her. He was looking at her like she was a very delicious piece of meat! Mepthys was horrified by this mortal man. She knows that she was a beauty. A very very gorgeous and beautiful woman. But this is very creepy and disgusting!

" Ahhh!! Oh my god! Is that a drool?! Let go you disgusting pervert!! Ahh, don't rub your face! "

Mepthys tried to push or pull out the mortal man from her leg but he refused to let go. What the hell has happened in the mortals society nowadays? Did their current society have degraded so much for them to fall into this kind of depravity? The mortal man was looking at him like he wanted to eat her. The metaphorical meaning was really bad and she wouldn't let this lowly mortal man to corrupt and vilify her virtue and pureness! But, the literal sense was much more scary!! Just from what part of cult is this guy?!

" You... "

A hoarse and a voice full of hunger came out of the mortal man. So the latter is it... Mepthys cried internally in her mind. She also felt angry for the Evil Gods who have started those cults with unethical practices.

" Your a Goddess right? "

The mortal man asked. But Mepthys feel that he was just declaring a fact and truth of some matter. Reluctantly, Mepthys nodded her head slightly as she tried to shook off the mortal man from her leg. She bitted her plump and soft cherry red lips in frustration as the mortal man didn't let go.

" Don't struggle.... " The mortal man said. He smiled at her slightly and Mepthys wasn't obviously charmed by his average beneath her mortal face. But considering the situation, the smile of the mortal man scared her.

" You have accidentally killed me right? "

" ?!! "

Mepthys look at the mortal man in shock. Ahhhh, how did he know?! Is he mind a reader? She was a goddess!! She was supposed to be one who can read minds. Mepthys thought as she remembered that she was just a newbie goddess who was recently promoted. She was a newbie goddess of afterlife and being omniscient is still very very far away for her. The domain of mind reading also belongs to the deities of knowledge and those great deities.

Again, she reluctantly nodded her head to answer the mortal man's question.

" Great! You know, I have been looking forward on meeting you! I think it was really a destiny that I met you! " 

Mepthys can feel the hold of the mortal man tightening. Sooner or Later, it would end up hurt or bruise. Why did she choose the job of being the goddess of the afterlife in the first place? A job where the soul of dead people can hurt and physically touch her. She was now starting to dislike this job.

" I think this isn't just a simple destiny, It's Fate!! "

If that is really it is... Then Mepthys would gladly seek retribution from those deities of luck, fortune and fate. This was a very horrible fated destiny for her.

" I am destined to don't lived a normal life... I am really grateful for you Goddess Mepthys! "

This mortal man isn't sane.

" I have been waiting for this opportunity to me to happen and I wouldn't absolutely let it go! "

How is the mind of this mortal man working? Mepthys was certain that some deities of knowledge may be interested to dissect how the mind of this man works.

" I was really waiting for this cliché plot. The cliché plot where a god or a goddess have accidentally killed a mortal by a mistake... I know that the plot is very horrible and have been overused..but don't worry! This is an absolute must in the Isekai works for some protagonist to gain OP cheats since the deities would apologize for accidentally killing them and they would grant the protagonist one or three wishes... But unlike those protagonist, I would wish that I would have a 20 wishes! "

Mepthys can feel that she was burning in the intensity of the stare of the mortal man and she felt that she have fallen into the deepest part of hell.

" Umm...Noel right? "

" What it is honorable Goddess Mepthys? "

She hoped that the mortal man wouldn't stare at him like that. Previously, she very like the attention of every being and being in the center of attention, but now, she was starting to dislike it.

" How should I explain this?.....umm... I'm sorry but I can't grant your wishes!! "

She exclaimed as she look at the mortal man with an apologetic look on her face.

" What? " The mortal man look at her blankly. " You're joking right? "

Mepthys shook her head. " A deity is always serious. "

Mepthys winced when she felt her leg starting to hurt.

" If a deity should be serious, then please seriously do your job. Your a goddess right? Shouldn't you be perfect and flawless? You can't afford to make mistakes. You can't absolutely make mistakes. "

Mepthys was horrified as she can feel that the mortal man was on the verge of becoming a very very resentful spirit. Her leg are starting to bruise now and maybe it would bleed with the rate that the man was digging his nails on her leg.

" I...even through that fulfilling a wish isn't in my domain and I have no power to grant wishes as I am just a newbie goddess, I can still make you reincarnate again in another world! "

" Really? "

Mepthys can feel the mortal man calming down. 

" Yes...in fact, I can reincarnate you with your memories completely intact. "

She secretly sighed in relief.

" I see...then please hurry up and reincarnate me in another world goddess! "

" Now? "

" Yes! "

This mortal man isn't definitely normal.

" I see...then please let go of my leg and find a comfortable position for yourself. "

Mepthys watched the mortal man let go of her left leg and rolled to the floor. A few minutes later, she watched as the man lay on the floor lazily and look at her intensely as he raised one of his hands in a thumbs up gesture. 

" I am ready now Goddess. "

" Don't you want to stand up? "

What would happen if this not normal mortal man happen to peak beneath her clothes?

" This is my most comfortable position. "

" I see... Then please get ready. "

" I am ready since the day I was born. "

Mepthys shook her head. Seriously, she really doubt his statement. She watched the mortal man widened his eyes and look at her with shock.

" What is that?! "

" This?... Oh, this is the tool that I absolutely need so I can send the souls to the process of reincarnation. "

Mepthys answered casually and she can also felt a horrible feeling of satisfaction as the mortal man look at her fearfully.

" Don't worry... you won't lose your memories and this would be completely harmless. "

She says as she raise her hands and activated her tool.

" One last question.."

The mortal man said as his face started to look pale.

" What is it? "

" Goddess, are you aware of a certain butler anime show? "

" I'm sorry I don't know what are you talking about. "

She said as she drilled the chainsaw to the poor and unlucky mortal man's stomach. Mepthys watched as the man look horrified and he lose his consciousness. She watched as the man slowly dissolved into particles of light and she was now alone in the white space. Mepthys can feel her knees shaking. She let herself collapse to the ground and she sighed in relief.

" Finally! Problem solved! "

Mepthys crookedly smiled and she closed her eyes for a moment. When she opened her eyes again, the endless white space disappeared replace by a very busy gray underworld filled with dead souls and she was overlooking all of them from her throne. 

" What a useless Isekai guide manual... "

She says as she look at the book disinterested. She smiled as she look at her useful tool.

" Still, I am happy that the problem is solved... It was obviously thanks to you my useful and relia– Ahhh?! What?! No, no, no, way!! "

Mepthys shrieked as all of the souls in her own underworld look at her. But she took no noticed of their attention as she was immerse in her feelings of fear and frustration.

Mepthys whined desperately and helplessly as she realized she made an error and mistake again. 

She hope, that when that mortal man died again, he wouldn't be transported to her own underworld.
