OuYang MingYue stared at her white jade-like hands and laughed out loud. Who would have thought that these delicate hands, which appeared as though they would shatter with one blow, would actually be this world’s most dangerous weapon? Even though she transmigrated to an ancient world, however her abilities still existed. Her knowledge still existed. Her sharp eyes still existed. Thus there was nothing she couldn’t do. Who cares if her reputation was ruined? She wasn’t an ancient woman, she never cared about this so-called reputation.

OuYang MingYue wasn’t this world’s protagonist for nothing. She very quickly recovered her equilibrium.

Because her scum father and grandfather no longer cared about her and because Madame OuYang also treated her like air, she actually got a lot more freedom. She often changed into male clothes to go out into the city to try and find business opportunities.

Networks and power would take time to accumulate, but money could be earned quickly. Just as long as she found the right path.

She first opened a makeup store. Then she also opened a supermarket. The business in both were not bad. Through this she also got to know the number one wealthy business person in Tian Yuan Country: Fang WeiTong, as well her ex-fiancee Bai Lian.

After getting to know these two people well, her generosity, daring, talents, intelligence as well as her worldly knowledge, made these two people hopelessly attracted to her.

OuYang MingYue had already given up the idea of getting married. She only wanted to earn enough money, leave the OuYang family and become independent. That way in the future she could have as many men as she wanted. And because Bai Lian and Fang WeiTong were both very good looking with strong bodies, and can be considered top-quality men, she didn’t want to miss out on either of them.

Thus she treated them both hot and cold, in order to keep them both hanging. She even had intimate relations with both and made them both so crazy for her they didn’t know one day from the next.

Fang WeiTong was the Tian Yuan Country’s largest imperial businessman. The word “rich as a country” was really not an exaggeration. In terms of finances he was of great aid to OuYang MingYue. He even helped her with many business contacts.

Bai Lian came from a scholarly family. His grandfather and great-grandfather had both been Prime Ministers. His father was also the Minister of Rites. He had quite a lot of power at Court. He was also studying at the Han Lin Academy, and can be considered someone that was high-class and noble. The help he gave OuYang MingYue was even better.

In order to express his loyalty, he had already mentioned several times that he wanted to cancel his engagement with OuYang Ya’Er however he had been rejected each time by OuYang MingYue.

For one, OuYang MingYue didn’t want to “hang to death on just one tree” {T/N: Commit to just one man}, and number two if Bai Lian married OuYang Ya’Er but his heart still belonged to her and thus turned OuYang Ya’Er into a living widow, then wouldn’t that be much more fun?

Bai Lian was 100% obedient to everything she said. Thus he immediately threw the question of marriage to the back of his head and in order to make her happy, decided to sneak her into the annual Autumn Hunt.

The young Emperor loved to pretend to be a pig in order to eat a tiger. Under the surface he plotted to pull the ministers to his side in order to regain his power, but on the surface he pretended to be dumb and stupid in order to make the Regent lower his guard. When he walked onto the stage to shoot the elk, he pretended he couldn’t draw the bow. With a face full of awkwardness he looked towards the Regent for help.

How could his little tricks be able to fool Zhao Xuan? But since he wanted to pretend to be incompetent then Zhao Xuan would let him really become so. Thus he purposely walked towards the stage and changed it to a hundred stone bow, then he easily and casually aimed it at the elk that had already run several liaway, and killed it with one blow. The fierce violence of the blow made the deer’s head explode and shocked the entire audience to their core.

Of course if he didn’t have a little white fox tucked away in his chest, then the blow would have been even more powerful.

“So great! His Lordship really lives up this name!”

“The Lord Regent is such a powerful warrior! He is the pride of our Tian Yuan Country!”

“Such wonderful archery skills! People are always saying that the Lord Regent is a genius in both physical and mental arts, now that I see it today, it’s really not an exaggeration!”

Everyone standing below the stage were clapping their hands furiously and exclaiming praises. Their eyes were filled with respect and awe.

Of course the ministers that had already been secretly pulled over the young Emperor’s side only pretended to be happy on the surface. Underneath their hearts were filled with worry. The young Emperor really was talented and he was also the rightful heir. Right now he was 16 years and should naturally take over the reins. However when they compared him to the mighty and commanding Regent, his talents became miniscule and inconsequential. When the two people stood together, one was like a Heavenly God that could crush mountains and empty rivers, the other was still green and full of naivety. If these two people fought, then who would win and who would lose was extremely obvious.

Of these ministers who were on the young Emperor’s side, the majority did it because they were loyal to tradition and the others because they wanted power.

However if one really wanted to talk about the “rightful heir”, then actually the throne should belong to the Regent. The previous Emperor only obtained his throne because he had bribed a eunuch to change his father’s will. If it wasn’t for the Regent’s intelligence and capability, he probably would have also died during this time.

The previous Emperor was a despot. He only cared about his own pleasures and nothing about the running of the country. Under his rule the people were always raising rebellions. He had also taken too many of those so-called “immortal pills” and ended up dying from poison. While he was on his deathbed, his son was only two years old, it was impossible for him to rule and the people were also extremely restless and rebellious. Thus he finally listened to the ministers and recalled the young Regent to the capital.

The Regent spent two years to pacify the people and then spent twelve years taking care of the country.

{T/N: Er, I’m also not sure if the numbers add up. ZX is mentioned in Chapter 2 as being 27, so I guess he was 13 when he started ruling which would also make him underage but I guess that’s better than a 2 year old haha.}

The Tian Yuan Country which was once fraught with danger within and without, was now a powerful and prosperous nation. They were the envy of others and the people were happy and content. No matter if the succession should be based on tradition or successes, who had more right than the Regent? Several of the ministers who had been pulled over to the Emperor’s side suddenly woke up as if from a dream. They suddenly realized their actions were stupid. If the Regent was willing to return the imperial power that was one thing and then the young Emperor might be able to succeed. However the Regent’s actions today clearly showed that he had intended to be the Regent for his entire life. Even if the Divine Ancestor came down from the heavens, he might not be able to beat the Regent!

To become the opponent of the Regent was the equivalent of hanging oneself – you could only do it if you had gotten tired of living! These ministers shook to their core and completely didn’t dare to look up to the stage. They lowered their head and their bodies were dripping with cold sweat.

Zhao ZongZheng stared that the elk that was dead on the ground. In his heart there were also turbulent waves surging.

He realized his actions today was self-defeating. Instead he had given Zhao Xuan a good opportunity to show himself. He couldn’t help but admit that the current Zhao Xuan made him feel scared. There was a period of time before where he felt that Zhao Xuan had gotten lazy and careless. At that time although he was still imposing, however he was like a beast that had already gotten old, he had lost his ambition and his fierceness. It had given Zhao ZongZheng the impression that he had a chance to climb up. But right now Zhao Xuan completely changed. He stood there, like a immovable mountain, impossible to surmount. Could he really steal back the power from him?

Zhao ZongZheng’s hands balled into fists. He felt like the future was very foggy and unclear.

OuYang MingYue was the number one killer in her previous life. The people who had died in her hands were politicians, terrorists, businessmen etc. She moved to and fro in a rain of bullets and in twenty years she had never failed once. Thus her heart was extremely proud. Even if she came to the ancient world and saw some so-called martial arts masters, they were only just ordinary fighters. They didn’t have the legendary ability to fly around, jump to the top of the mountain or reach the depths of the ocean. Thus she had always felt that in this life she could had the power to do whatever she liked just as in her past life. Anyone who opposed her she would be able to easily get rid of them.

But right now, she realized that she had underestimated ancient people. It wasn’t that this world didn’t have its masters, it was only that she hadn’t seen them yet. And the Regent that was standing high above her on the stage, was someone that she definitely couldn’t offend. The laughable thing was that she had once thought that if the Regent became her opponent then she would sneak into the Regent’s manor and kill him the same way as Li WenHan. Luckily it was only a thought and she hadn’t put it into action. Otherwise right now she probably would have already been turned into a pile of bones.

Right now she was wearing a man’s hunting clothing. Her hair had been tied up and her good-looking features as well as her straight and long body made her seem different from other men. She carefully stood behind Bai Lian’s body and didn’t dare make eye contact with the Regent. However suddenly a fire arose in her heart. The man on the stage was extremely attractive. Not only was he beautiful beyond compare but he also displayed heavenly talent and capability, as well as wielding terrible power and influence. If she could obtain his admiration, it would be even more thrilling and satisfying than defeating all the other men under the earth.

OuYang MingYue didn’t any particular hobbies. The thing she liked to do the most was obtaining the men that caught her eye and controlling them in the palm of her hand, making them live and die for her and give her their everything.

Only this way could she feel that she was also someone that was flesh and blood and not a killing machine.

She had gotten Li WenHan, Fang WeiTong and Bai Lian’s heart. But what did it matter? The three of them put together could not even compare to the Regent’s little finger.

No matter what, she would have this man!

OuYang MingYue hid in the crowd of people, and stared at the tall and handsome man with a coveting and itching gaze.

Zhou YunSheng had always had a extremely strong perception skill. He was also already paying attention to OuYang MingYue. Thus how could he miss the ambition in her eyes? She was treating his lover like an animal to be hunted. She really was the fickle female lead!

His little mouth made a “hn-hn” sound, as though he was laughing. When he saw his lover lower his head to look at him, he used his claw to swipe at him.

“Who has annoyed you now?” Zhao Xuan laughed helplessly. The adoration and spoiling expression in his eyes leaked out like spring water. Seeing the ministers were all still awaiting his next instruction, he raised his hand and said, “The hunt is begun. Go ahead everyone.”

The ministers all obeyed, knelt down and loudly wished him a thousand year life, and then began leaving in groups to hunt.

The young Emperor and several young noblemen around the same age also entered the forest and quickly disappeared.

“Lord Regent your horse has been prepared. When do you want to leave?” Wang Bao saw his master leap down from the stage and quickly went up to him to ask.

“The journey from the capital to the hunting ground took one day and night. This Lord doesn’t mind it much but I’m scared that Li’Er is tired. Let’s go back and rest.” Zhao Xuan pulled out the little fox in his breast and gently stroked his fur. He saw his head drooping as though he was about to fall asleep, and an expression of heartache appeared in his eyes.

The procession of people returned to the tent to rest.

Zhao Xuan didn’t want to disturb the little fox. He didn’t even dare to take off his outer robe. He embraced the little fox and lightly climbed under the covers. He didn’t move his arm and just held him like this.

If he slept in this position then within half an hour his entire arm would go numb. How was this treating a pet! This was clearly serving an ancestor.

Wong Bao sighed and helped the Lord Regent to remove his shoes.

“Move lightly. If you shake then my arm will move. Be careful not to wake Li’Er.”

Zhao Xuan lay like a wooden person on the bed, and even his voice was extremely low.

The corners of Wang Bao’s lips twitched. He thought, this servant is trying to take care of you and you’re unhappy? In the future, this servant will just directly take care of the young master instead.

He inched the shoe bit by bit off the Lord Regent’s foot and then took off his socks. Then he crept out like a thief.

Zhao Xuan stared at the little white furball in his arms and saw that he was breathing evenly. His expression finally relaxed and he sighed with relief. Then he also closed his eyes to take a rest.

Because of his inner injury, the little thing needed to have a lot of sleep. If he was woken up suddenly then he would definitely throw a temper tantrum and he would take it out on anyone. The embroidered tiger, pig and bear by the bed had already been chewed by him into bits, and had already been changed several times. Luckily every time he clawed Zhao Xuan he seemed to have a bit of heart and would retract his claws, and would only swipe a few times. Otherwise the handsome beyond compare Lord Regent of the Tian Yuan Country would have already been disfigured.

Thinking about this, Zhao Xuan’s lips couldn’t help curving. His mood was very good.

Zhou YunSheng slept an hour before waking. While he was dreaming, 008 was trying to tirelessly help him heal his demon core. Right now the progress was quite good. It would probably only take two or three more years for him to change his shape. He crawled out from his lover’s arms and stretched lazily.

As soon as the little fox moved, Zhao Xuan immediately opened his eyes. He didn’t have even the slightest bit of drowsiness and immediately got up but then fell back again.

Because he had kept the same position for too long, half his body was numb and temporarily couldn’t move.

Wang Bao heard the sound and came back in. He said, “Lord Regent, this servant will help you massage.”

Zhou YunSheng realized what was happening and immediately slapped away Wang Bao’s fat and large hand. He leapt up to his lover’s body and used his paws to knead his lover’s shoulders. He was scared that it wasn’t enough pressure so then he used his entire body to jump and leap around his body. His round head was hovering in front of his lover and while he jumped, he used the opportunity to lick his eyes, nose, lips. All the while he made a “heng-heng-ji-ji” noise to call him, as though asking him if he felt comfortable or not.

“Oh! The young master is so clever! He realized that the Lord Regent’s body isn’t feeling good and is helping you massage.” Wang Bao laughed.

Zhao Xuan’s heart was overflowing. As soon as his arms weren’t numb any longer he scooped up the little fox and began kissing him repeatedly. He kissed his little mouth and his fleshy paw. His love was so full he couldn’t express it enough.

“Li’Er is so obedient. I really didn’t love you so much for nothing. You’re so intelligent, could you turn into a fox spirit? If you could that would really be good. That way we could spend our whole lives together.” When he thought that a normal fox’s lifespan was only around 15 years and Li’Er had already suffered very serious internal injuries, Zhao Xuan’s heart became dark and heavy.

Wang Bao saw that his master’s mood wasn’t good and hurried to stop smiling. He silently brought over some hot water to help the Lord Regent wash and groom.

Zhao Xuan behaved just as usual. He took the towel and helped the little fox to clean his face, body as well as his four paws. Then he used his inner energy to help him dry the moisture on his body. Then he finally began to attend to himself.

Zhou YunSheng lay on the bedside table. He suddenly felt as though his paws were a bit itchy and he could help but want to rub them. Soon numerous scratch marks appeared on the precious nanmutable {T/N: a type of tree/wood}. When he saw that his lover had just finished washing his face and still had to change into a set of hunting clothes, he felt very impatient. He slid off the table to the ground and ran outside.

Outside the tent were the Regent’s guards. When they saw the little fox they didn’t dare to go to grab him. They just watched as the little thing lay on the grass and began to roll around.

The guards were already used to serving this young master. Seeing that he was bored they caught a few grasshoppers and threw it to him to play with.

Zhou YunSheng’s soul was crying but his body was still extremely excited as he played. When he saw the grasshoppers were not moving he even used his paws to push them around to make them move again.

Ah underage little fox was lively and playful like this. This was its nature and couldn’t be controlled. Even the three hundred year of Zi Li was still very playful in Zhou YunSheng’s memory. She often liked to change into her beast shape to play and tussle with her younger brother.

The little fox was a cute snowy white color. His head was round and his eyes were even more round. He had four short legs and a fluffy big tail. The appearance was extremely lovable. A few guards felt their heart ache and they really wanted to pick him up in their arms to rub him but they knew that the Lord Regent didn’t let anyone so much as touch a hair on his head. So they could only watch pitifully. They saw the little fox liked grasshoppers and so they caught a few more to throw over and let him play his fill. One of the guards was a little bit sadistic and actually broke off the grasshopper’s hind legs and enticed the little fox to follow behind him and leap along with it.

I really don’t like bugs, stop throwing them! Goddammit, are you bullying someone who can’t talk!?

Zhou YunSheng’s grumbling noises were misinterpreted by the guards as excited cries, and thus they became even more enthusiastic. After playing for a little while, a straight and slender “youth” with beautiful looks came over. Beside him was the eldest son from the Bai family, Bai Lian. The “youth” bent down and in her hands was a little bird whose wings had been broken. Compared to a grasshopper, the little fox should be more interested in this right?

“Is this the Xiao Bai you’ve been missing? He’s very cute.” Bai Lian bent down and carefully looked over the snowy white fox that didn’t even have a single discolored hair.

He couldn’t help but admit this was the most beautiful snow fox he had ever seen. Not “one of the most” but “the most”. Especially his amber eyes, it was as beautiful and as radiant as the sun. If they stared at you unblinkingly, it was almost capable of sucking out your soul.

Bai Lian’s instinct wasn’t wrong. Zhou YunSheng’s demon body was a perfect yin body. He had also inherited the demonic technique of being able to use his eyes to bespell people. However right now his demon core was damaged and he couldn’t use this skill. So his eyes only looked unusually beautiful and there wasn’t any other effect. Also this technique was completely useless on OuYang MingYue.

Zhou YunSheng retreated a few steps. He growled threateningly at OuYang MingYue. He opened his mouth and barred his white teeth. OuYang MingYue’s halo was extremely powerful. It could be said to almost impossible for demonic techniques to harm her. An ordinary beast might be able to hurt her however a demon beast couldn’t even touch a single strand of her hair before being heavily injured by the halo around her body. Thus, Zhou YunSheng was completely not her opponent. He could only growl threateningly and that was it.

OuYang MingYue wanted to get close the Regent but couldn’t find an opportunity. When she saw the little beast rolling around on the grass, she immediately caught a bird and came over. She originally thought that based on the animal’s instincts, she could bait him over with some food. However she didn’t think that Xiao Bai would hold such a grudge. Even though so much time had passed he was still antagonistic towards her.

Bai Lian was already surprised. He couldn’t help asking, “Doesn’t he seem angry? Yue’Er, let’s stand further away otherwise he might bite us. He’s the Regent’s beloved pet, even if he bites us we can’t fight back and can only endure it.”

If it could work then Zhou YunSheng would long have already bitten OuYang MingYue to death. Why would he wait til now?

It was a pity that he couldn’t defeat OuYang MingYue currently. He could only make threatening noises. As these two people and one beast faced off, Zhao Xuan came rushing over. He grabbed the little fox and returned him to his arms. Then he looked at OuYang MingYue and said in an impolite tone, “In the future if you dare appear in front of Li’Er again, then don’t blame this Lord for breaking your neck!” After he spoke he didn’t wait for the other two people to respond, just flicked his sleeve and walked away.

Everyone in the capital knew that the Regent couldn’t leave this little fox. No matter if it was eating, sleeping, or even going to court. He treated him as precisely as his own eyeball. Not being able to appear in front of the little fox was tantamount to not being able to appear in front of the Regent. Then how could she seduce him? For the first time OuYang MingYue met such a huge obstacle while chasing a man. She was so angry her hands shook. If it wasn’t for the fact that this body appeared exactly the same as her original body, both of them as beautiful as immortals, then she would have suspected that she had been turned into a pox-marked hag!

Zhao Xuan, just you wait! There will definitely come a day when I will make you kneel before me to kowtow and lick my foot!

She coldly grunted, lowered her head and left. Bai Lian immediately followed her and in his expression appeared a sliver of unease.
