"Romantic Marriage" is a large-scale celebrity relationship reality show produced by Anbei TV.
The program features three pairs of celebrity guests, simulating post-marriage life.
In the domestic entertainment scene, while there are numerous shows exploring simulated dating, simulated marriage remains a rarity due to its more controversial nature. No TV station had dared to venture into such a topic—until now.
Anbei TV decided to go big this time, not only leveraging the gimmick of "post-marriage life" but also inviting the most talked-about and prominent celebrities of the moment.
From the moment "Romantic Marriage" was announced, the show's official social media account began gathering public suggestions, asking viewers which celebrity pairings they wanted to see.
Coincidentally, this was during the height of Military Soul's popularity.
As a result, the comments section of "Romantic Marriage" was flooded with suggestions for the CP name “Monkey King and Saint,” referring to a popular pairing from Military Soul.
This, however, caused a stir among fans of another long-standing CP, "Spring Romance." Many fans who had supported Qi Si and Song Shu for years were outraged at the idea of Qi the Film Emperor being paired with anyone else.
What followed was a heated battle between the two CP factions. In the midst of the chaos, the production team decided to stir the pot even more by boldly inviting Qi the Film Emperor, Sheng Wenyin, and Song Shu to participate together.
Unsurprisingly, all three declined at first.
But the production team was persistent. After months of negotiation, persuasion, and networking, they finally succeeded in roping in all three just a week ago!
With the cast confirmed, the production team worked tirelessly to start filming without delay.
Their motto? If we record quickly, the guests can’t escape!
Monday, a shopping mall in Anbei City.
Sheng Wenyin was escorted early in the morning by the production crew to the first floor of a large shopping mall.
The mall was deserted, with the entire first floor eerily empty except for the camera crew, who were filming her every move.
As Sheng Wenyin walked in, a neatly dressed little boy approached her, holding an envelope decorated with a heart.
Glancing at the envelope, she accepted it—and couldn’t resist ruffling the boy’s perfectly styled slicked-back hair. His meticulously groomed hairstyle was instantly ruined.
The little boy quickly covered his head, pouting and scurrying away to escape her mischievous hand, disappearing in an instant.
Opening the envelope, Sheng Wenyin found a map inside.
“Wow, they’re really going all out,” she muttered sarcastically. Despite her tone, she followed the map’s directions to the second floor.
The second floor housed the men's clothing section. After weaving through racks and displays, she arrived at an area adorned with flowers and balloons.
As she approached, the program host, holding a cue card, greeted her with a bright smile:
“Welcome to the Romantic Bridal Boutique! I’ll now ask you three questions. Once you’ve answered them all, as the prospective bride, you’ll receive a custom handmade wedding dress sponsored by our boutique. Are you ready?”
Sheng Wenyin blinked in surprise and asked, “A wedding dress? For me?”
The host smiled warmly. “That’s right.”
“Can I keep it?” Sheng Wenyin pressed.
“Of course,” the host replied confidently.
“What about after the show wraps?”
The host hesitated, his smile faltering.
Seeing his reaction, Sheng Wenyin immediately knew the answer. Her enthusiasm waned, and with a sigh, she said, “Fine, ask away.”
The host quickly adjusted his demeanor. “First question: What are your preferences for your future husband’s appearance?”
“My preferences?” Sheng Wenyin mused, picturing Qi Si’s face. Without hesitation, she declared, “Absolutely no handsome men. I don’t want someone too good-looking.”
The host froze, as if he’d misheard. “No handsome men?”
“Exactly,” Sheng Wenyin affirmed. “Handsome men are trouble. I’m not interested in them.”
That logic seemed sound enough, so the host moved on to the second question: “Is there a male celebrity in the entertainment industry whom you like and would consider as a partner?”
“Not at all,” Sheng Wenyin answered without a moment’s thought.
The host proceeded to the final question: “Of the following male stars you’ve worked with, if you had to choose one, who would it be? 1. Shi Yan, 2. Ye Chengfeng, 3. Duan Ming, 4. Shen Meng, 5. Gu Jitong, 6. Qi Si.”
Sheng Wenyin tapped her chin, pondering for a moment. “Ye Chengfeng,” she finally said.
The host was visibly surprised. “Ye Chengfeng?”
“Yeah. I’ve always wanted a dog, but my living situation doesn’t allow it. Plus, I’m too busy to care for one. If I could ‘adopt’ Ye Chengfeng, it’d be perfect. He’s like a well-trained dog—he doesn’t need walks, knows how to use the bathroom, and could even fetch my slippers. Sounds fun, right?”
The host: "..."
After completing the questions, the host, struggling to maintain a straight face, directed her to a room at the end of the hallway.
Sheng Wenyin followed the instructions.
Inside, the room was filled with wedding dresses, but it was empty of people.
Venturing further in, she found a long sofa in the center, facing a mounted television screen.
Adopting a “when in Rome” attitude, Sheng Wenyin sat on the sofa. Suddenly, the television turned on.
Onscreen, Song Shu’s face appeared.
Sheng Wenyin froze.
She hadn’t known Song Shu was also part of this program.
Frowning, she leaned back against the sofa, her fingers drumming impatiently on the armrest.
On the screen, Song Shu was shown arriving at the same host's station, answering the same three questions.
“For appearance?” Song Shu smiled softly, tucking her silky hair behind her ear. “I don’t have specific requirements. I think compatibility matters most in relationships; appearance is secondary.”
When asked about a celebrity she’d consider as a partner, Song Shu shyly admitted, “Well, yes, there is someone…”
The host pressed for details, but she demurred, blushing furiously. “I’d rather not say. It’s a bit embarrassing.”
For the final question, Song Shu hesitated for a long time before answering. “If I must choose… I suppose it would be… um, Mr. Qi.”
Back in the room, Sheng Wenyin’s eyes narrowed. Her fingers tapped rhythmically against the leather armrest, her lips pressing into a thin line.
Onscreen, the host beamed. “As expected!”
Song Shu turned scarlet, waving her hands. “What do you mean, ‘as expected’? That makes it sound like there’s something between me and Mr. Qi. No, no! You made me pick!”
The host chuckled, guiding her to the same room Sheng Wenyin was in. “Inside, you’ll find your wedding dress, and soon, your husband will arrive.”
Song Shu’s face lit up with anticipation as she walked toward the door and pushed it open.
The next moment—
Song Shu: "..."
Inside, Sheng Wenyin was lounging in the middle of the sofa, one leg crossed over the other, arms folded. She glanced coolly at the woman standing in the doorway.
Song Shu: "..."
When Song Shu hesitated to enter, Sheng Wenyin raised an impatient brow. “What are you staring at? Don’t overthink it. I’m not your husband. Marrying you? I’d rather become a monk.”
