Sheng Wenyin pursed her lips and stared at Qi Si for a moment.

Then, she climbed off him, grabbed the bag of fruits, and headed to the kitchen.

Soon, the sound of fruit being washed came from inside.

Qi Si got up and strolled toward the kitchen.

Sheng Wenyin was busy at the sink.

Qi Si stood next to her, plucked a freshly washed grape, and popped it into his mouth.

Sheng Wenyin didn’t react and kept washing the fruit.

Qi Si picked another grape, this time bringing it to Sheng Wenyin’s lips. His voice was low and coaxing, “It’s sweet. Try it.”

Sheng Wenyin ignored him.

Qi Si leaned closer, pressing the grape against her lips.

With the grape practically touching her mouth, Sheng Wenyin had no choice but to frown and eat it.

The grape wasn’t big, but as Sheng Wenyin bit into it, her soft lips inevitably brushed against Qi Si’s fingertips.

Lowering his hand, Qi Si casually rubbed his thumb over his index finger before picking another grape and holding it to Sheng Wenyin’s mouth.

“I haven’t finished the first one,” she protested with a frown.

Qi Si chuckled lightly, patiently waiting for her to finish before feeding her the next grape.

The little argument they’d had earlier seemed to dissolve into thin air with these two tiny grapes.

At home, this was typical for them—little spats here and there, but everything would return to normal in minutes.

But in the backstage control room of the show…

The director was on the verge of pulling his hair out.

He was glued to the monitors, keeping tabs on the interactions between the three pairs of “married” participants.

Hua Zishu and Song Shu, being friends prior to the show, interacted like amicable acquaintances—polite, familiar, and naturally in sync.

Meanwhile, Cheng Jiang and Tong Shi, complete strangers before today, maintained an awkward distance, their interactions as stiff as one would expect from unfamiliar co-stars.

Then there were Qi Si and Sheng Wenyin.

What on earth was going on with them?

If one didn’t know better, they’d assume this was a real couple!

Cuddling, teasing, feeding each other—every little interaction was loaded with sweetness.

And the way Qi Si looked at Sheng Wenyin? It was so syrupy, you could almost wring honey out of it!

The director shouted, “This can’t air! Didn’t anyone tell them? Even though we’re simulating married life, this is still a reality show, not a scripted drama!”

The assistant director chimed in, “Exactly! With their level of interaction, people with bad eyesight might think they’re a real couple. But they’re not! If they keep this up, viewers will think we’re faking it and using a script!”

The director pointed to a crew member and barked, “You! Go remind them. They’re probably confused about the concept. Explain to them clearly that they need to tone it down!”

“Toned down?”

Sheng Wenyin and Qi Si sat in the living room, looking at the staff member across from them.

The poor crew member, drenched in sweat, struggled to find the right words. “It’s just that… your interactions don’t need to be so, um, deliberate.”

“Deliberate?” Sheng Wenyin scratched her head, baffled. She had no idea what she’d done that seemed deliberate.

She had appeared on plenty of reality shows before, and no one had ever accused her of overacting.

Seeing her confusion, the crew member elaborated, “I mean, just… act naturally. Interact the way you do in your daily lives.”

“Our daily lives…” Sheng Wenyin began, only to be interrupted by Qi Si raising a hand to stop her.

He turned to the crew member and asked, “So, you’re saying we should behave exactly as we do in real life? Are you sure?”

The staff member nodded furiously. “Yes, exactly! The best performances come from being yourself. That’s what audiences love the most!”

Qi Si smirked, nodded, and said, “Alright.”

Relieved, the staff member hastily excused himself, wiping the sweat off his forehead as he left.

After the door closed, Qi Si turned to Sheng Wenyin. “Just act natural, got it?”

Sheng Wenyin frowned. “What wasn’t natural about me earlier?”

Qi Si chuckled. “Just stick to how we usually interact.”

Still scratching her head, Sheng Wenyin finally nodded. “Alright.”

Qi Si asked, “You mentioned going grocery shopping?”

Sheng Wenyin perked up, remembering. “Right! The fridge is empty. If we want to cook, we’ll need to buy some ingredients. There’s a fruit stall nearby, so there should be a grocery store too.”

Qi Si grabbed his car keys and stood up. “Let’s go find one.”

The two of them left the house, got into the car, and drove along the road until they spotted a small fresh produce market in the neighborhood.

Since they were filming, with a camera crew following them, they didn’t bother wearing masks or hats and walked straight in.

The store was nearly empty. Sheng Wenyin picked the vegetables while Qi Si carried the basket.

As Sheng Wenyin placed ingredients into the basket, she casually planned out the lunch menu.

When they passed the condiments section, Qi Si suddenly stopped and picked up a bottle of oyster sauce. “Is this the brand you usually use?”

Sheng Wenyin glanced at it and confirmed, “Yes.”

Qi Si added it to the basket, then reached for a bottle of soy sauce.

Sheng Wenyin quickly intervened. “The show already provided soy sauce.”

Qi Si gave her a look. “But it’s not the brand you usually use.”

Sheng Wenyin put the soy sauce back on the shelf. “It’s fine. I buy this brand because it’s often on sale. The show’s soy sauce is actually better quality.”

Qi Si didn’t argue further.

As they continued shopping, Qi Si stopped again at the dry goods section and picked up a pack of dried seaweed. “Let’s make seaweed pork rib soup for lunch.”

Sheng Wenyin put the seaweed back. “We’re making tomato egg soup.”

Qi Si frowned. “We haven’t had seaweed pork rib soup in ages.”

Sheng Wenyin glared at him. “What do you mean? I made it just the other day when the housekeeper had a day off. You asked for it, and I cooked it. Don’t you remember?”

Qi Si thought for a moment and then nodded. “Oh.”

Sheng Wenyin pushed him forward. “Come on, let’s go check out. I’m starving.”

The two of them walked to the cashier, carrying the basket.

Meanwhile, the cameraman following them: “…”

The director and assistant director, watching the monitors: “………………”

The director turned his head stiffly, looking at the assistant director with a despairing expression. He took a deep breath, opened his mouth to speak…

But then he noticed a short strand of black hair on his shoulder.

Horrified, the director picked it off and stared at it with trembling fingers. “It’s only the first day… and I’m already…”

Losing hair!!!

The assistant director hurried to comfort him. “Don’t panic! At least they’re… um… more natural now?”

The director roared, “But they’re even sweeter!!! What do we do now?! I’m shipping them!!!”

The assistant director, overwhelmed, could only point at the screen. “L-let’s keep watching… see how it goes…”

On the monitor, Qi Si and Sheng Wenyin stood by the cashier, looking at a rack of items.

Qi Si pointed to a shelf filled with condoms and casually asked Sheng Wenyin, “What flavor do you want?”
