The director couldn’t believe for a second that these influential figures had gathered here just for Shen Meng.
Moments ago, Sheng Wenyin had called Shen Meng “Sheng Xingmeng.”
Sheng.
And with the Sheng Group’s Vice Chairman present, the director felt his stress levels skyrocketing.
What exactly was the relationship between Sheng Wenyin and these towering figures?
The CEO of Dingfeng Media, the Vice Chairman of Sheng Group, and the founder of a global luxury brand—each one of them alone could command immense attention. Yet, somehow, their show had hit the jackpot without spending a single dime. It was like winning the cosmic lottery.
As the reality of it hit him, the director wondered if he was simply dreaming.
Meanwhile, inside the bridal room, Sheng Wenyin stared blankly at the crowd outside the door.
The people outside also stared back, none of them daring to make a sound.
The silence stretched until Zhuang Yanqin, leveraging her close relationship with Sheng Wenyin, boldly stepped inside. Holding Sheng Wenyin’s hand, she said warmly, “What’s the matter? Is Auntie not welcome?”
Snapping out of her daze, Sheng Wenyin stammered, “No, no, that’s not it!”
Her eyes darted nervously to the figures outside the door. “Of course, you’re welcome.”
The group collectively let out a sigh of relief!
Just as Zhan Qingjun was about to rush in, Xu Chu and Shen Mei quickly restrained their mother, one on each side, preventing her from overwhelming the younger sister.
Before arriving, they had all agreed: since they were showing up uninvited, they had to be on their best behavior and avoid unsettling their little sister.
Zhuang Yanqin nudged her son’s arm and urged, “What are you standing there for? Invite everyone in!”
Qi Si gave his mother a sidelong glance before calmly beckoning the crowd inside.
In the living room, Shi Yan, Feng Xiaoxiao, and Gu Jitong could only watch in astonishment as a flood of people poured in through the door like an unstoppable tide.
Five minutes later, Qi Si introduced Zhuang Yanqin to the trio. “This is my mother.”
The three exchanged skeptical glances before their eyes shifted to the dignified woman on the sofa. She was holding Sheng Wenyin’s hand tightly, her gaze glued to the girl’s face as she smiled and smoothed her hair.
After hesitating for a moment, Shi Yan, Feng Xiaoxiao, and Gu Jitong greeted cautiously, “Hello, Mrs. Qi?”
Zhuang Yanqin responded with a radiant smile. “Hello, hello!”
So she really was Qi Si’s mother. Who would have guessed?
After Qi Si’s introduction, it was Sheng Wenyin’s turn.
She stood up, her body instinctively leaning toward Qi Si.
Sensing her nervousness, Qi Si stepped closer, gently placing his hand on her back in silent reassurance.
Encouraged, Sheng Wenyin took a deep breath and began introducing the people in the room.
Pointing to the elegantly seated woman with golden-rimmed glasses, she said, “This is my mother.”
Her words plunged the room into a profound silence.
Shi Yan, Feng Xiaoxiao, and Gu Jitong, oblivious to the significance, respectfully greeted, “Hello, Aunt Sheng.”
Eyes red, Zhan Qingjun hastily dabbed at her tears and replied warmly, “Hello, hello!”
Sheng Wenyin, avoiding her mother’s gaze, turned toward the composed man sitting beside her. “This is my eldest brother.”
Then she gestured to the man next to him. “And this is my third brother.”
Shi Yan and the others immediately greeted them. “Hello, big brother. Hello, third brother.”
Sheng Ru smiled graciously, while Sheng Qiong beamed with unrestrained joy. “Hello!”
Moving on, Sheng Wenyin pointed to Shen Mei and Xu Chu. “These are my eldest sister-in-law and third sister-in-law.”
The trio dutifully greeted them as well. “Hello, eldest sister-in-law. Hello, third sister-in-law.”
Just then, Sheng Xingmeng emerged from the balcony and walked up to Gu Jitong, giving him a pat on the shoulder. “Don’t address them so casually.”
Gu Jitong turned to him in confusion.
Sheng Wenyin narrowed her eyes and said coldly, “Oh, you dare show your face?”
Sheng Xingmeng shrank back immediately, stammering, “A-Auntie…”
“Auntie?!” Gu Jitong’s jaw dropped as he stared at Sheng Xingmeng.
Equally bewildered, Shi Yan and Feng Xiaoxiao exchanged puzzled looks.
“He’s the second son of my eldest brother and sister-in-law. His real name is Sheng Xingmeng, stage name Shen Meng—my nephew!” Sheng Wenyin declared.
Shi Yan and Feng Xiaoxiao: “??”
Gu Jitong: “?????”
Shooting her nephew a few withering glares, Sheng Wenyin then turned her attention to the young man in the corner. “Well, well, long time no see.”
Sheng Xingyue froze under her gaze. Remembering how, in his youthful ignorance, he had once pursued her, he quickly dashed over to curry favor, offering to massage her shoulders. “Auntie! Heh heh, Auntie!”
Qi Si slapped Sheng Xingyue’s hand away with a frown.
Sheng Wenyin smirked and introduced him. “This is Sheng Xingyue, the eldest son of my brother and sister-in-law—Sheng Xingmeng’s older brother.”
By now, Shi Yan and Feng Xiaoxiao were utterly dizzy, while Gu Jitong remained stuck on the revelation that Shen Meng was Sheng Wenyin’s nephew.
Finally, Sheng Wenyin pointed to the most well-behaved member of the group, a short-haired girl sitting quietly. “This is my third brother and sister-in-law’s daughter, Sheng Xingru.”
Feng Xiaoxiao exclaimed in shock, “Xingru—the champion of that talent show?”
Blushing, Sheng Xingru lowered her head, her shy demeanor a stark contrast to her chic appearance.
After finishing the introductions, Sheng Wenyin scratched her cheek and leaned closer to Qi Si, looking thoroughly embarrassed.
Sensing the awkwardness, Qi Si held her hand and suggested, “How about we eat?”
But as soon as they sat down, it became apparent that the table was too small for the group.
“I’ll be right back,” Sheng Wenyin announced hurriedly and dashed out the door.
Two minutes later, she returned, carrying a solid wood dining table from Tong Shi and Cheng Jiang’s house, with the couple trailing anxiously behind her.
“Sheng, wait! Let us help!” they pleaded.
Qi Si immediately moved to assist, but before he could reach her, Sheng Ru and Sheng Qiong had already shoved past him.
Qi Si: “?”
Next, Sheng Xingyue and Sheng Xingmeng joined the fray, followed by everyone else.
Amid the chaos, Qi Si was somehow pushed into the furthest corner of the living room, where he found himself seated next to Gu Jitong, who was unable to move due to his disability.
Gu Jitong looked at him curiously. “Aren’t you going to help, Teacher Qi?”
Qi Si: “...”
Eventually, two tables were pushed together to form a long dining setup. The food, though stretched, managed to cover the surface thanks to Sheng Wenyin’s habit of preparing extra portions.
However, there still wasn’t enough to go around.
Just as Qi Si reached for his phone to order more food, Sheng Ru put his phone down with a smile. “No need. More food is already on the way.”
Qi Si: “...”
By the time everyone sat down, Sheng Wenyin, busy directing the seating arrangements, glanced at Qi Si and waved him away. “Don’t just stand there. Go play somewhere else and stop blocking the way!”
