The academy’s classrooms, at least the ones built for theoretical lessons, were structured like a lecture hall. At the front, there would be a lectern and a board for the teachers. To the side, there would be a double-door entrance, along with stairs that hugged the wall and slowly led up to the back.

In one of such classrooms, where students were busy indulging in casual chatter and eating lunch, the door suddenly slammed open to reveal a local celebrity.

“W-wait, is that…?”

“Why would she be in a first-year building?”

“...Is she here for me?”

“No, you idiot! She’s probably here for that guy.”

“Who?”

“Well, who else but-”

The topic of conversation for the entire class, Charlotte Irlandi, or rather me, walked up to a certain plain-looking black-haired boy who sat near the window at the back.

“Kim Si-woo. As my disciple, you need to eat well,” I monotonously declared as I placed down two homemade bento boxes on the table.

[How romantic! Sharing your food with-]

“Huh?” Kim Si-woo interrupted the idiot in my head with wide eyes. The store-bought $5 sweet bread in his hand dropped onto the table in a dramatic silence.

In the early game, Kim Si-woo was set up to be dirt poor. Naturally, this also meant that players had to do daily side-quests to earn money and survive the cruel world of the 21st century!

“You… never mind, thank you,” Kim Si-woo gracefully accepted the bento box.

At the start of every round, the player was able to choose from a selection of food. Some chose to cheap out on food, which resulted in a growth debuff, in exchange for saving up and investing it in good equipment.

As I’ve observed Kim Si-woo over the past few days, I happened to chance upon the fact that he was not eating well. Although it was a viable strategy, sacrificing early-game growth could be really bad later on. I couldn’t allow my disciple to suffer growth debuffs just yet, so I naturally made him lunch!

Although I wasn’t sure how the mechanics worked, I presumed that food that met a certain calorie requirement would lead to no debuffs. Unfortunately, the sadistic game only had food debuffs, with no real benefits for overindulging in food.

I took a seat next to Kim Si-woo and began to eat my own bento box as well. Today’s meal contained a nice fried egg, some fishcakes-

“Why are you sitting next to me?” Kim Si-woo interrupted my thoughts with a frown.

“This was the closest seat,” I promptly replied as I refocused and dug into my meal, which was the same as Kim Si-woo's.

He looked at me with a complicated gaze.

[Good morning…. Oh, what do we have here? Fufufu, how romantic]

Unfortunately, my appetite was ruined right as I was about to take my first bite. It was the voice waking up. I was surprised at first when I experienced long periods of silence, but apparently, the slop actually slept.

[Of course, I do! Beauty rest is number one!]

I sighed internally as I reluctantly took another bite of my food. I didn’t have a strong appetite to begin with.

[It’s all because of your poor sleep. I’m telling you, beauty rest is number one]

Whatever.

Despite the system’s prompt that my power relied on the protagonist’s trust, it didn’t mean I could slack off and focus solely on it. I needed to train my motor skills and mind foremost, to accompany the power that I would gain as the protagonist’s teacher.

This meant I trained late into the night, doing fieldwork, which was possible thanks to some connections.

“Kim Si-woo, you traitor!!” A voice suddenly called out from the entrance of the classroom, redirecting everyone’s attention towards the door again.

Naturally, I also turned my gaze to the door.

It was Ma Dong-seok. Although they were childhood friends, classes in the academy were segregated by skills, and Ma Dong-seok was actually a member of class A, where the best were gathered.

On the other hand, Kim Si-woo was placed in Class D, the second lowest class in the academy.

Kim Si-woo would remain in this class until the death of his best friend, where his skills were re-appraised, which led to his replacing Ma Dong-seok’s spot.

Of course, I intended to rectify that tragedy, but I also needed something to trigger that seriousness in the protagonist. Luckily, Charlotte’s setting meant I had access to virtually anything I wanted.

Ever since I’ve entered this world, I have steeled myself.

I would save this world, even if it meant I needed to resort to less-than-savoury methods.

A flash gleamed across my eyes as I noticed two more figures appeared behind the angry Ma Dong-seok. Of course, like Kim Si-woo, I had people I wanted to protect.

I turned to the side and stared at the protagonist, who wore a slightly troubled look as he slid the empty bento box over.

Through the protagonist, I will be the star of this world.

And to do that, it was time I enacted my next plan!

A disciple naturally needs companions, thus, over the past few days, I’ve planned an exclusive excursion.

What about school, you asked?

[Nobody asked that-]

Conveniently, my father is on the board of directors, not to mention my status as a member of the student cabinet. Of course, I needed to request approval from administration and teachers, but aside from the higher classes, the academy is filled with civil servants who do not want to be involved with military affairs.

As a result, I was practically the ruler of the academy!

This team-building exercise would be a breeze to get approved.

.

.

.

“The request was denied?” I asked with a frown as I received a document from the school’s front desk, three days after I applied

This wasn’t a precedent to take students out on private excursions, with my brother taking me out for our first year.

I scoured my mind to think of reasons why.

I had permission from my father and his approval.

I had a supervising instructor accompanying me.

I also had permission from the principal.

...This only meant one thing was left.

Kim Si-woo’s teacher in class D.
