"Good spar," I told my co-{Guard}, clapping him on the back. He grunted, running his fingers through his spiky black hair.
It was the first time I'd seen him without his helmet. Without it, he looked a lot younger than I thought before and, dare I say, almost handsome. The look was ruined, though, with the sporadic lumps on his forehead, cheeks, and scalp. My sticks hit him hard.
"Next time," he muttered, "I get to turn you into a pincushion."
"If you manage to hit me. We both know your aim isn't too good."
"You never let me practice!"
"Bah, training with your dagger is important. I gave it to you because you'd have nothing else if someone gets to you before you can shoot them."
"That is so-ugh! My arrows!"
He ran toward his post and picked up his quiver lying half-submerged in the snow. Pulling out his arrows, he cursed and rubbed the stone tips on his gambeson. "Stupid snow! Gah, all this frost...it's so annoying."
I nudged him with my boot. "That's what you are, you know."
He rolled his eyes as he pulled out another arrow. "That's right. I'm Frost, the abused and mistreated {Guard}."
As soon as the words left his mouth, he gasped, his eyes glazing over. I watched him closely, wondering what had happened. After a minute of nothing, his face lit up with a grin.
"Finally! Look at this!"
His left eye twitched for a second and then I could see his status1Quick note: Frost gained 2 levels when he killed the spear invader a few chapters ago. He bought two new skills with his TP and decided to put his points into AGI, VIT, and PERception.

"I guess we're equals now, huh?" he said with a cheeky grin.
I slapped the back of his head.
All I imagine is one day, the players will be saying "Dont take any Elden Keep quests if you can avoid it. If you can't, beware the Snowmen."
So true, haha!
I slapped the back of his head.
... something something NCIS like this way comes-
Pardon?
@The3Crimson3Kane once upon a time, a television show by the moniker 'NCIS' was on. One of the characters was always in the position of having the back of his head slapped. (I dislike that.)
Also. No longer spoilering the status stuff? I did like you doing that.
@Friend Oh. I know what NCIS is. I just didn't get the reference. And I believe it was Gibbs hitting the back of Tony's head, lol.
well, that guy deleted his story, the link is no longer valid
You can find the story your looking for on RR
@Schwab STR 21, END 20, AGI 18
his CHA can't be 2! getting a name gives them +3 to all stats :/
oops. I forgot about that. thanks for the heads up!
@Schwab so wait....you mean to tell me, after all the training he only had 3 STR and 1 END?
I remember Flake getting those stats just for stretching. What about the two level up bonuses?
@zaim Yeah, there's a footnote before his status shows up that says
Quick note: Frost gained 2 levels when he killed the spear invader a few chapters ago. He bought two new skills with his TP and decided to put his points into AGI, VIT, and PERception
1 Endurance might be a little low for a level 1 Archer, but they don't do much running, do they?
@Schwab missed the footnote. It was pretty small in my defense.
even so, I was shocked by comparison. Both Flake and Crystal has a Base endurance of 10. But the poor Frost only got 1! Even after all the training and fighting that he went through it still remained at one. I remember Flake getting +1 END after jogging for a bit in chapter 3. I personally feel archer subclass would need endurance more than a fire mage subclass.
@zaim Yeah, probably. Although, Crystal's base endurance was a lot lower than 10 if I'm remembering right. I think all of her stats besides intelligence and possibly charisma were fairly low.
@zaim so her base endurance was 7 before she got the bonus for naming herself. okay. I see your point on how Frost's is too low, lol.
