“It’s useless isn’t it?”, the ghost in the corner of the room said, while holding onto a book with decorative cover.

We spent about nearly the whole night searching... well not exactly searching you could say.

Well, I did a small amount of searching, she skimmed through the documents and remembered some of them and told me that they hold nothing important nor worth mentioning.

So what did we do the whole night? She read the next book close to the row she retrieved the previous one, and I quickly looked through the rows of books and decided to pick up the one that would catch my interest.

What about searching for the document? Well, it clearly wasn’t in here and searching through the previously read ones would be a tremendous waste of time.

Well, doing anything else but that would also be a waste of time.

However on a personal opinion spending time on other things does not mean that it is a waste of time, as long as it benefits to you in any way, it isn’t a waste.

I learned that recently, good job me.

Oh thank you, me.

You’re welcome, me.

“You might be right, well…. We didn’t search in the first place.”, I sighed as I closed the book I was reading and lied myself slightly down on the chair I was sitting on.

The sunlight shone through the curtains.

I placed my hand over my eyes in order to protect myself from the deadly sunlight.

This reminded me of that one time where I binged through 20 volumes of light novels back at home, sunlight murdered me soon after.

Most of the books in the library were just as she described, magic, monsters, geography, agriculture and documents with information that wouldn't benefit to us one bit.

Nothing really interesting within them, except for the magic related ones.

The books I just closed was titled: “The beginning of all Magecraft”

It explained stuff related to magic and alchemy, interestingly enough I was quite caught interested in reading this.

At some point I believed it to be a book labeled “Magic for Dummies”.

It introduces you into magic and alchemy for beginners and even explains how to make spells.

Unfortunately, that’s not what we’re here to talk about anyways. I’ll explain what I learned another time.

“It seems like it’s useless after all.”, I sighed. “Told you so.”, the ghost replied to my sigh.

A moment of silence formed between us, like all night had been spent.

Oh yeah, I haven't told any of you what were inside the documents, did I?

Inside most of the documents were death certificates, they however didn't really lead us anywhere to finding who she was.

No pictures of her were shown, and unless we find out her name, we won't be able to connect dots together.

However, it was save to assume that whoever owned this Mansion was most certainly a Noble who owned a Funeral Home.

The Documents were Stamped with a Red Symbol that marked as to whether the person in question was deceased, on the lower end of the document would show the Signature of the Noble who owned the Parlor.

However, the name was blurred out for unknown reasons.

“What are you going to do?”, she asked, out of nowhere.

I quickly redirected my concentrations towards the conversation.

“I’ll be returning back, there are some people who’ll probably be either waiting for me or searching for me.”, I said standing up from the chair, preparing to leave.

“Okay…”, she said, and nothing more.

She had a slightly lone look on her face. “I’ll be coming back tomorrow or later today.”, I said.

‘It might be lonely spending her time here, well… in my case I wouldn’t mind being alone forever.’

“Okay.”, she said with the same uncaring tone as before.

However, weirdly enough. I think that the corners of her mouth raised a little.

“I’ll see you later then.”, I left the room.

Although I technically spent a whole night doing nothing, there were two more things I had to do.

As I walked down the hallway, I stopped in my tracks.

"'Sense'"

There were two things I had to do.

One of them would be to scan the structure of the mansion itself, the ‘No-Attribute Magic’ spell ‘Sense’ allows me to sense everything that contains mana almost like a radar but it can also be used as a way to scan a structure.

Especially since what I was searching for were mana signatures, so this was perfect.

“Hmm.”

‘The structure of the mansion is exactly as she had explained, twenty rooms, four kitchen, one library and one dining hall as well as the outdoor and indoor baths.’

The kitchen had some magic crystals meaning that there were probably some magic items. I could sense the magic crystals that provided as lights for the mansion, which helped me better define the mansion.

The baths had some magic items as well, it seems like the family that lived here were quite privileged.

‘However….’

When I used the spell, I felt a strong amount of mana surrounding the mansion. As if I was trying to push against a wall with my own hands.

Fortunately, it only seemed to repel mana and certain people.

And there was one more thing which bothered me.

There was another Location in the Mansion that she didn't mention.

It was right below the mansion, there were couple of mana signatures coming from there.

The moment my mana came in contact with the barrier, it felt as if my hands were being entwined by threads delicately.

‘So this is what she meant that it only repelled her.’

She can’t leave because those threads were designed to prevent only her, or in a way that’s how I’d describe the feeling.

The barrier will only react to her, to only contradict her. So, I still don’t know why though.

“I guess we’ll find out then.”

I exited the mansion, and headed towards the gates.

The second task I had left to do, was to examine the barrier.

Barriers came be set up in different ways, but the core element of a barrier stays the same.

There should be something or someone keeping it active with mana or a source that is keeping the spell active.

Thankfully, with my spell ‘Corruption’ I should be capable of locating the source, by contaminating the flow of mana or using it as a way-thread to find the source.

I stood right before the barrier, now that I had a closer look on it. I noticed that it was nearly completely transparent.

I pressed my hand against the barrier, and spread my mana.

“‘Corruption’”

…..

……

……

So that’s how it is.

I left the mansion using ‘Flight’, since I can't take a carriage this time.

I flew once before, I may have sounded like as if I was a pro at it already, but not really.

I don’t have much difficulty flying in itself, but landing is sort of difficult.

That’s why I deactivate ‘Embodiment’ and flew away like a free bird, having my Spiritual body in a non-physical state makes me extremely light.

“Maybe I should’ve flown instead of having taken the carriage, this is much faster.”, I noted to myself.

I didn’t fly much so I didn’t really know the difference, I guess this is a note to self.

As I flew back towards the castle, I rechecked my progress bar.

What progress bar am I talking about?

The one that suddenly appeared after getting the Unique Skill ‘Patience’.

The thing that was suddenly announced to me was called ‘Multi-Soul Adapter’.

The progress bar has barely moved, if I had to make a vague guess it’d be at 34%.

When I say that it barely moved, I meant that the progress was relatively slow considering the amount of time that had passed.

‘Multi-Soul Adapter’? Does that mean it is adapting multiple souls? But to what?’, I thought.

Nothing felt strange or weird, the progress bar didn’t really affect my everyday life, especially when I look away it minimizes into a really small icon.

Which felt really game like considering that I’m living in real life.

The only odd thing about me would be the fact that I have this weird guy in me that has the same appearance as me.

He even says that he is me, though it’s hard to believe.

I can’t really do anything about him, I don’t know where he comes from or how he is in me. And thinking about it wouldn’t change anything, especially since I probably don’t have any skills that could go against ‘myself’.

“Ah well, there’s no point thinking about it.”, I said to myself, as I soared through the sky.

I could barely feel the weight of my body bringing me down.

Sometimes I forget that I’m not actually alive, but I barely care about it.

In the end of the day, it’s up to me what I want to do and wish to do. That’s why I can… well ‘live’ on with it.

I slowed down my speed as I reached the nearest city, in the distance you could already see the humongous castle.

I steadily landed, but nearly fell to the ground due to my instability.

‘I need to get used to it again…’

I activated ‘Embodiment’ and regained physical form.

I always activated ‘Embodiment’ as a precaution in case someone can see me even in spirit form. It is safer to take a more human form instead of remaining invisible, since those who can see spirits might spot me.

“Now, I’ll have to search for the others, wherever they are.”

‘I should’ve asked what inn they’d be residing!’, I regret my negligence, and moved through the city.

People sent occasional stares towards me, I haven’t changed my attire since yesterday evening, so I still had my Knight Armor on.

“Is that the new Knight?”, a man in his twenties whispered.

“Seems so.”, the adventurer next to him responded.

“Tch, seems like they let anyone into the Roundtable…”, one cursed. “Isn’t it like nearly impossible to get into the Roundtable? At best a Knight.”

“Don’t you see the emblem? He’s a Knight of the roundtable.”

“Some Knight he is, we don’t even know who it is.”

Soon after, a random guy appeared. “Isn’t that the guy who took down a Frost Giant? I heard he was F class adventurer before.”

“Huh? A F class into the Roundtable? Is that even possible?”

“Apparently he also scored quite high in the tournament.”

“What the hell!?”

“So he must be a big shot?”, and so on.

People began murmuring amongst each other, unlike the murmurs I received yesterday. These seemed more skeptical and extremely judgmental.

Some of the words coming from their mouths weren't all too negative, some were even pleased to see a new knight.

The criticism didn’t really hurt, it’s not like I was trying to be a good Knight to begin with. At best they felt more like light scratches on my back.

But if they build up it might become a pain in the butt.

“Haha! See this, this is the fate of every new Knight who get into the Roundtable, liking it?”

A sudden arm locked me over my shoulder, and a loud and yet very drowsy voice came.

“Oh it’s you.”

“‘Oh, it’s you’, what do you mean? You don’t like my presence?”

“No, that’s not it.”, I said.

It was Yami, the Knight of Diligence, who appeared.

“Don’t you have a job to do or something?”, I asked.

“Huh? You don’t remember, I pushed all my work into your shoulders.”, he responded casually.

‘Oh yeah, maybe I should’ve just ditched this job as a whole while I could.’, my mind filled with negative thoughts overtook all rationality I had left.

“I’ll tell you a little thing or two, normally for one to become a Knight of the roundtable, one must have gone through Knight school where you’re taught magic and swordsmanship. You’re a special case, since you pulled out the sword ‘n all.”

‘Yes and? Why’re you explaining this to me?’, I thought but chose not to speak or else this conversation would never end.

"Is it that unique for a new knight of the roundtable to appear?", I asked while I was at it. "You could say so, there can only be seven knight which represent the Holy Virtues."

"I see."

A moment of silence passed again.

“Did you come here all the way to tell me this, or do you have actual important business here?”, I asked, in order to break the ice.

“Wow, so I’ll mannered aren’t you? Didn't your mother discipline you?”

‘She did, I just responded the way I did by CHOICE!’

“Well, I did come here to get you.”, he responded to my question, which made me raise a question. “How did you know I was here?”

A small moment of suspense was created between us, his drowsy eyes met mine, along with a sharp gaze.

“I had a feeling that you’d be here.”

“Huh? That’s it?”

“Yup.”

‘That’s one hell of an intuition.’, I was suspicious as to how he could possibly get the exact location of my whereabouts.

But I knew there would be no difference in asking, if this was his answer, so it would stay.

“So why’d you come and get me exactly?”

The states from the people did not stop, however that seemed to not bother Yami at all.

“There are some people asking for you at the castle, they claim to be acquainted to you.”

“….”

“….”

‘It seemed like I won’t have to go out searching for them.’

What if you wanted to post a chapter, but miHoYo said: "Here's the new Archon Quest"

I apologize yet again for a late new chapter, I hope all of you are still reading this Novel, till next time. I can't write much, but do comment if you want to say anything.
