According to his past experiences, even if someone shows kindness at the start, they all turn against him without feeling any guilt at the end. So Amphorn doesn’t have any expectations anymore.
Wei sat there without saying anything; he seemed to be thinking about what Amphorn had just said. After some time, he looked at Amphorn and asked, “The enemy you want to defeat, how strong is he?”
Amphorn said, still looking outside the window, “Power enough to destroy this world.”
“When will he come looking for you?”
“I don’t know; he may or may not.”
Wei nodded and said, “I know you don’t believe me, but I brought you here because I need a disciple. Here in the Dragon Sect, nobody will hurt you. I won’t force you to learn, and you can live your life as you wish.
You can eat delicious food, sleep at least fourteen hours daily, and roll in bed without worrying. And if you become bored, just read a book, bask in the sun, or count the stars at night. You can do anything you want.”
Amphorn turned his head and looked at Wei in surprise. Wei smiled and said, “This is what you said when I asked for your life goals, isn’t it? So just do that.”
Amphorn’s eyes went from surprised to suspicious. He couldn’t believe someone could be this nice to a stranger. Wei turned a blind eye to this and said, “You eat first. Someone will come and introduce you to the rules of the Dragon Sect.”
After that, he patted Amphorn's head and left. Amphorn touched his hungry stomach and started to eat.
When Wei came out of the room, Bai stopped him and asked, “How is he? Is he eating his food? You didn’t threaten him, did you?”
Wei shook his head and said, “Threaten him? I wish he could be threatened. Anyway, he is eating now. He seems to dislike it when there are too many people around, and I think he prefers it when things are quiet. So please take care of him, Bai; he needs some help.”
Master Haoyu took out the bottle of wine he recently bought. Just as he was about to drink, suddenly, Wei came in, grabbed the bottle, and drank the wine.
Glub Glub
Haoyu looked at his empty hand and at Wei, who was drinking wine as if it were water. He began to get angry and said, “What’s the matter with you? You look like you’ve come across a big problem in your life. What’s bothering you?”
Wei stopped drinking the wine and said, “The child I brought earlier was awake and refused to eat anything, so I went to check on him.”
Haoyu sat down on the mattress and waved his hand toward Wei to make him sit down as well. “I’ve never seen you this worried before. Is he not recovering well?” Haoyu couldn’t think of anything other than that.
Wei continued drinking the wine and said, “No, he is recovering well. The problem is something else.”
Haoyu raised an eyebrow and said, “Something else? Is it about the people from the Shadow Sect?”
“No, I can solve it if it were them, but it’s something else, a much bigger problem,” Wei shook his head.
Haoyu raised his arm, gave Wei a push on the shoulder, and said, “Why are you going around in circles? Are you looking for a beating?”
Wei got up and looked into his eyes and said, “When you see him, you’ll understand.” Then he left.
Haoyu touched his chin and said, “Wei isn’t someone to lie about this matter. The child is probably a little special. I should go and check on him.”
Clink!
Amphorn put down the bowls and thought about the conversation he had with Wei, deciding to do nothing.
‘He told me to live however I wanted here, so I should probably do that. When he is tired of the act, he will reveal his motive in no time. Since he mentioned we are in the sect, I don't think I can escape from here.
I wonder if I can live past the three-month deadline here. I’m feeling a bit sleepy; they must have put some medical herbs in the food.’
Amphorn then fell into a deep sleep. When he woke up the next morning, he noticed someone was sitting next to his bed.
Bai looked at him and said, “You are awake. I changed your bandage while you were asleep. It's a good thing all your injuries are healing.”
Amphorn just nodded at her and got up to get ready for the day. After he freshened up, he ate the food on the table silently. Bai stood there with a smile on her face.
After finishing eating, he stared at Bai. After all, she was the one who knew what he needed to do next.
Bai looked at his thin body and the tired look on his face and said, “Young master, Master Wei told me about your situation, and you don’t need to worry about anything while you are staying at our Dragon Sect. Your injuries have just healed, so just take it easy.
Since you are going to live here, I’ll tell you the rules that you need to follow. In the Dragon Sect, there aren’t many rules.
Normal disciples just need to go to training in the morning, and lectures in the afternoon, and the evening is their self-study time. Special disciples who are directly under the sect elders usually follow their masters for training.
As for the places you can’t access, there are lots of those in the Dragon Sect, but you don’t need to worry. Elders guard those places, and if any disciple breaks in without knowing, they would be directly sent back. The rules in the sect are very loose, so you can relax while you are here.”
Amphorn sat next to the window and stared outside. After hearing what Bai said, he simply nodded and looked outside in a daze. His mind was constantly moving to find a solution to his problem.
Amphorn wanted to escape from Adam and the Abyss Prison and regain his freedom. However, he couldn’t find a single clue about how to do that.
