Bai looked at the child, who sat in a daze. She sighed and went outside. She knew that this child needed some time to adapt.

Just like that, Amphorn spent his time eating, sleeping, and sitting near the window in a daze. Bai tried to talk to him, but she was ignored.

One afternoon, after finishing his meals, when Amphorn was about to sit in his favourite spot, the door to his room suddenly burst open.

The intruder didn’t say anything; he simply put his sword at Amphorn’s neck. Amphorn wasn’t surprised; he simply stared at the man in front of him and thought,

‘It’s finally starting, huh? I thought I could stay here a little longer, but I guess I was unlucky as always.’

Haoyu looked at the child in front of him and couldn’t help but be surprised. ‘As Wei said before, this child is different from other children. Not many people can stay calm in front of my killing intent.’

Amphorn and Haoyu were waiting for each other to take action first, but neither moved.

Amphorn: ……*-*

Haoyu: …….*-*

They just stared at each other without saying anything. Haoyu was waiting for the child to talk, and Amphorn was waiting for the man in front of him to kill him. Finally, Haoyu couldn’t take it anymore, so he put down his sword and said,

“Don’t you have anything to say?”

Amphorn looked at him and said, “I don’t have any final words to say. If you want to kill me, just make it quick.”

Haoyu glanced at him in surprise and said, “Why should I kill you?”

“Mn. So you aren’t going to kill me with your sword?” Amphorn didn’t expect this outcome.

Haoyu shook his head and said, “No, I won’t.”

“Is that so?” Amphorn then ignored the man and sat near the window, staring there in a daze.

Haoyu looked at the child and then at himself and couldn’t help but ask, “Aren’t you afraid I might kill you?”

Amphorn turned his head, looked into his eyes with a smile on his face, and found this question meaningless. “I wish that I could die peacefully, but I’m not that lucky.” He then continues to stare at the window.

Haoyu stood there and wanted to say something, but the words couldn’t come out of his mouth, not after he saw the look in the child's eyes. He simply turned around and left.

Wei looked at the mountain of documents he needed to deal with and sighed. “I just left for a week, and they gave me a year of work. That stupid head of this sect, just because he is the head, passed all the work to me. I should ask for a raise.”

Slam!

Just as he was ready to go outside, the door slammed open, and Haoyu came inside. Haoyu came in and gave Wei a hard push on the shoulder.

“Ouch, what was that for?”

Wei rubbed his shoulder and asked. Haoyu looked at him angrily and said, “What is with that child? He... he just... doesn’t look like a child?”

Haoyu didn’t know how to describe it. Wei sat on the chair and offered Haoyu a seat, and they started their conversation.

“Looks like you met him today. I thought with your curious nature, you should have met him already.”

“I was waiting for him to come outside, but even after three days, he didn’t come out of his room, so I got impatient and went there myself.”

“So how is he?”

“That’s what I want to know as well. I put my sword to his neck and released my killing intent but forget about being surprised; he didn’t even blink.”

“Haha, I know right? He was fearless, just like when I first met him.”

“Fearless? At this young age? Stop beating around the bush and tell me, what is going on with him? I know his mother was killed, but that look in his eyes doesn’t show any sadness; rather, his eyes are filled with something else. So, tell me, what is it? Do you know something?”

Faced with constant questions from Haoyu, Wei just shook his head and said,

“If possible, I also want to know that, but even after checking his background, I couldn't find anything useful. He was covered in mystery.

Usually, I wouldn’t get involved with strangers, but you saw his eyes, right? He is at his limit. If we just let him be, I am positive he’ll become something terrifying in the future.

I don’t know what his bottom line is, but he is holding onto it tightly, and that is what keeps him from going the wrong way.

I tried to look into his memory when he was sleeping the other day, but his soul was so powerful I couldn’t even get close. Isn’t it weird?

He is just a child, but his soul is so powerful that even I can’t get close, and the emotions he shows in his eyes from time to time also do not belong to a child.”

Haoyu widened his eyes in surprise at the fact that there was someone even Wei couldn’t look into. In the martial world, Wei is someone who stands at the top, so it was hard to believe he couldn't find anything about a child.

Haoyu thought about it and suddenly got an idea. “Is he perhaps from the upper realm?”

Wei smiled and said, “Probably yes. I first thought he might be an old senior who came down the mountain, but that child was so young.

Even if someone disguises themselves as a child, they can’t imitate the purity that belongs to a child. His eyes hold no desires, and he doesn’t know much about the world. Not to mention, he doesn’t even know how to get along with people.

So my conclusion is that he is a child from the upper realm and was betrayed by someone he trusted. He seems to have gone through lots of hardship and wants nothing more than rest.

Since I took him as my disciple, I’ll take full responsibility. Oh, by the way, he said he has an enemy who is powerful enough to destroy this world, so please keep an eye on him. I don’t want him to do anything reckless because of his helplessness.”

Sigh~

Haoyu smirked and said, “Looks like it’s about time to scam someone.”

Wei smiled brightly at his response and said, “Yes, it is about time.”
