Amphorn took a deep breath to calm himself down and decided not to think about those crazy thoughts.

“Okay! So no killing and earning bad karma. But how am I supposed to stop myself from earning good karma? And why does Abyss Prison need that much good karma? Why was I chosen for this crappy job?”

Sigh~

Amphorn then sat back on his bed and decided to focus on things in the present. “So first, in this round, I didn’t die in three months.

I can feel my soul getting stronger. Adam didn’t show up, but he was out there somewhere. I’ve found out the real purpose of the Abyss Prison and Adam’s goal for killing me. But I have no idea how to escape or counterattack.

What I can do is minimize the damage. If I cultivate my strong soul, I’ll get stronger very quickly and become famous so Adam can find me quickly and kill me. When I die, I have to go through a hell of a painful experience once again.

However, if I don’t cultivate, I’ll stay as weak as ever. When Adam finds me in the future and wants to use me as usual, I won’t be of much help. So the good karma I earn will be less, and I won’t stay in the Abyss Prison for a long time.”

Amphorn got up and sat near the window, staring at the night sky. “I’m getting more information as I live, so I’ll try to live as long as possible without getting strong.”

His eyes filled with killing instinct as he continued to stare at the sky and said, “I’m sure one day I’ll find a way to become strong, and I’ll kill Adam. Even if gods cannot be killed, their incarnations can. So as payback, I’ll kill Adam’s double, leave his domain, and then I’ll destroy the Abyss Prison.

After all that, I’ll rest and find a good place for my retirement.

So, all I have to do now in this world is nothing. I will stay still as a rock.”

Sigh~

“In the end, I’m back to square one. Do nothing.”

Haoyu looked at the scene in front of him with wide eyes, rubbing his arm filled with goosebumps. “I know you aren’t sane sometimes, but now it looks like you’ve finally lost it.”

Mmm~ mmmm~ mmn~

Haoyu took a step away from Wei, who had been humming a song and smiling ear to ear like an idiot since morning.

Wei smiled brightly at his friend and said, “My dear friend, I’m in a very good mood. Do you know why?”

Haoyu shook his head. Wei continued, “My one and only disciple agreed to cultivate, and he was very enthusiastic about it. I’m sure he’ll come early today to learn from his dear master.”

Haoyu said in confusion, “Are you sure we’re talking about Ming? That lazy child?”

Wei nodded. “Yes, we took a tour around and talked about cultivation practice. His eyes are filled with passion for knowledge. I’m sure he’ll become a great warrior one day. And he doesn’t like his name, so call him Li.”

Haoyu asked just to be sure, “Are you sure we’re talking about the same person?”

Wei knew he wouldn’t believe it, so he dragged him toward Amphorn’s room. “Let's go and greet my disciple. He must be waiting for me.”

As they walked, they reached Amphorn’s room in no time. When Wei opened the door and went inside, he was surprised to find his disciple not in bed but sitting near the window in a daze. Suddenly, Wei had a bad feeling.

Amphorn didn’t turn around after hearing the sound of the door opening. He already knew who had come into his room without knocking.

Haoyu looked at the child who was sitting there in a daze and then turned his eyes toward Wei.

Even though he did not say anything, his gaze said everything he wanted to say: ‘Is this what you call enthusiastic and eager to learn?’

Wei cleared his throat, stared at Amphorn with hopeful eyes, and asked, “My dear disciple, it is about time we get to the lesson. If you are tired, we can do it in the afternoon; your master can wait.”

Wei wanted to teach Amphorn how to cultivate, and his pride as a top powerhouse was at stake. He finally found a worthy disciple and didn’t want to miss it. More importantly, he wanted Li to learn how to protect himself.

Amphorn didn’t say anything as he sat there in a daze. Wei took a step forward and called again, “My dear disciple!”

Amphorn sighed and turned around. He knew he needed to make things clear with his master. “Master?”

Wei straightened his back and encouraged Amphorn to speak with his eyes.

Haoyu looked between master and disciple and smirked; he knew something interesting was going to happen.

Finally, Amphorn spoke with a serious look on his face. He had dark circles under his eyes; it was obvious he hadn’t slept at all.

“Master, I’m thankful for everything you did for me. The Dragon Sect is enormous, and the people here seem nice. The things you taught me yesterday were a huge help to me. For that, I’m very grateful.”

Wei smiled brightly at his response, and Haoyu was surprised by the respectful tone Amphorn was using with his master.

“However—”

With just one word, Wei lost his smile, and Haoyu raised his eyebrows.

“However, after thinking about everything you taught me yesterday, I decided.”

Glup

Wei and Haoyu nervously stared at Amphorn.

“I decided I won’t cultivate. If possible, I don’t want to leave my room in the future. So, I hope you won’t persuade me about cultivation.”

Haoyu turned his head toward Wei, and as expected, his face turned black. Master Wei took a deep breath and said, “Why? You seemed to be interested in learning yesterday.”

Amphorn nodded. “Yes, I was. As I promised, I was ready to cultivate after three months, but after learning many things from you, I decided not to leave my room or cultivate.”

Wei was shocked. “Are you saying you decided to stop learning because of what I taught you yesterday?”

Amphorn thought about it and nodded. Technically, he learned about the soul and karma from his master, so that’s why he decided to do nothing. “Yes, master. After learning from you, I decided not to cultivate.”

Haoyu sighed. He could almost see an invisible arrow shot towards Wei as Amphorn talked.

He was sure his friend’s pride as a top master was hit hard and was also curious about how he had made a child stop learning after one lesson with him.
