After leaving the auditorium, Fujino saw Maki waiting for her.
“Wow, I’m so touched! You actually waited here for me!” Fujino pretended to wipe away non-existent tears.
“Zen’in Maki. Just call me Maki. Oh, and those two earlier were Inumaki Toge and Panda,” Maki said before turning to leave.
“Follow me. I’ll take you to your dorm.”
Fujino froze for a moment, then quickly caught up, chatting away like an old friend as they walked. Her endless chatter made Maki’s head hurt, but thankfully, they finally arrived.
If they’d taken any longer, Maki wasn’t sure she could’ve held back from punching this girl!
Fujino glanced at her dorm room and gasped in delight. Wow! It’s pretty nice! There’s a window, and it’s a single room! This means the school has a solid budget!
Just as she was about to turn around and thank Maki, she realized Maki had already left.
“See? Your personality scared her off,” Pink-chan suddenly appeared out of nowhere, smirking as it mocked her.
Fujino shrugged indifferently and turned her attention to the uniform lying on the bed. Her eyes lit up as she ran over and picked it up. It looked great! But… why was it a super-short one-piece? Could it be…
Yes, they were all secretly in love with her! Fujino was a narcissist.
“They made it so quickly! But since it’s so short… I’ll just wear my black leggings underneath!” Fujino quickly imagined how she’d look, growing more eager to try it on.
“Hey! Your classes don’t start until tomorrow! Isn’t it too early to change now? Besides—idiot! I’m still here!” Pink-chan bared its teeth, clearly annoyed.
Fujino thought about it and realized it made sense. She set the uniform aside.
Sitting on the bed, she began to think back to the way Yaga Masamichi had looked at her earlier. Turning to Pink-chan, she asked, “By the way, why was he looking at me like that?”
Pink-chan’s body visibly tensed at the question, but it replied in its usual tone, “How would I know? Anyway, aren’t you going to sleep? Or do you want to end up with panda eyes?”
Fujino gasped. “Is it nighttime already?” She turned to look out the window, where the moon shone brightly in the dark sky. After a moment of thought, she finally closed her eyes.
“Fine… you hypocritical little snake.”
As silence settled over the room, Pink-chan glanced at Fujino but said nothing.
Fujino slipped into a dream, a vivid and unsettling one. In her dream, she saw her friends falling, one by one, into pools of blood…
She witnessed the hardships her companions endured. She also saw people she didn’t recognize but instinctively knew were important… and one person in particular stood out.
A man who looked eerily similar to her, with a stitched scar running across his head.
Who was he? Had he undergone brain surgery?
“Jingyuan Fujino… Father has high hopes for your abilities,” the man said as he patted Fujino’s head with an unsettling smile.
Her father? No, that couldn’t be! Fujino had been an orphan for as long as she could remember. How could she suddenly have a father?
“This body isn’t too bad…”
Fujino’s eyes widened in shock. What was this man saying?
She understood now.
This man wasn’t her father. He had merely taken over her father’s body. The stitched scar was clear evidence of a brain invasion!
That explained everything. Something had invaded her father’s brain, stealing his will and body.
But why didn’t she remember any of this? What had happened to her?
